El Fleeco Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Link up play between wood and nugent suggests they are best duo I've ever seen. Bar howard and hayles of course.

Steve_Walsh5 Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 In my lifetime it has to be Heskey and Cottee. Saying that if Nuge and Wood play together for the next 3 years they could be better than them.
Legend_in_blue Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Claridge and Heskey. Nugent and Wood. Can't think of many in between. Partnerships that is. Individuals maybe, but not two.

Bilo Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Claridge and Heskey was the best regular partnership, but Heskey and Collymore had genuinely stupid potential. We'd probably have been qualifying for Europe through league position if they'd stayed together and MO'N hadn't been tempted away by Celtic. Nugent and Wood have huge potential as a partnership though, Wood especially is only going to get better at 21.
Tielemans63 Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 In my lifetime it has to be Heskey and Cottee. Saying that if Nuge and Wood play together for the next 3 years they could be better than them. Spot on. Agree with all of the above. The Nuge / Wood partnership shows signs of being absolutely awesome.

kingfox Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Wood didn't play that well tonight I didn't think, but all you need is that one link up and we scored a goal. Hard conditions, but they will get better and better.

acooling08 Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Been watching Leicester properly (as in I was old enough to care) since the early 2000s. Deane - Dickov is the only class partnership that comes to my mind. Nugent and Wood have the potential to be brilliant together, no doubt.
Fox92 Posted 18 January 2013 Share Posted 18 January 2013 Deane and Dickov were very good at this level Agreed. Dickov But in recent years, I agree, Nugent/Wood looks good. They go together as well, we finally have something mobile to aim at in Wood. Can only get better boys!
Goodie Posted 19 January 2013 Share Posted 19 January 2013 We've had some great strikers over the years (my years) lineker, smithx2, Roberts, Speedie, Cottee,Dickov,Claridge,Heskey,Collymore to name a few but in terms of partnerships this has the making of something special! Riding on the crest of a wave maybe but............
foxfanazer Posted 19 January 2013 Share Posted 19 January 2013 Probably right for my lifetime too. Although I really enjoyed the Dickov and Deane partnership. Played the big man/little man role to perfection
