Shame as a he looked a real prospect. Hopefully we can turn this round like people are saying and maybe get him in the summer. Can't understand Le Harve's logic on this deal. They've likely pissed a player off on denying him his big move and are clearly going to loose out on 400k. Also with the transfer fee being €0 in the summer I can imagine we won't be the only team interested, unless ofc he has signed a pre contract.

If it is an agent issue it just highlights their greed in the modern game.

If this transfer falls through, or doesn't happen in this window, I will be disappointed; not because I have any idea how good this guy can be, but because I trust in Pearson and his staff. They clearly believe (a) we need this type of player, and now, to improve our squad and prospects, and (b) that Mahrez has the potential to fill that role well.

 

I suspect and hope that a compromise will be reached in the next few days because Mahrez seems to have burned his boats with Le Havre and he appears to be very keen on the move to us.  It's in the interests of no-one to let this situation drag on or fail.

Leicester et le Havre n'ont pas réussi à trouver d'accord pour le transfert du milieu offensif de 22 ans. Le HAC devrait donc tirer un trait sur les 500 000 euros qu'il pouvait espérer récupérer dans la transaction puisque Mahrez, qui sera libre en juin prochain, peut signer un pré-contrat là où il le souhaite. En plus de Leicester, le Torino et des clubs de L1 sont particulièrement intéressés par son profil.

Just checked out stringers tweet. He has said in communication with fans that he still think the deal will go through and an agreement will be reached and that nabil chap has not said it is dead in the water yet either. It's a stumbling block and I think with fixtures for both us and le harve over the weekend (which he could now not be registered for us anyway) it's probably best to pack up for the week and head home. Riyad Mahrez part II next week most likely.

If a fee has been agreed with Le Havre then this isn't dead in the water, Mahrez will have to decide whether to fook his agent off or miss out on signing for us. This happens all the while, agents try to get as much as possible for their player. He's probably arguing that in the summer he'd get a higher signing on fee but it ain't the summer so fook off.

 

I'd be very surprised if you said your goodbyes to all your team mates as well because let's be honest he would have to go back there once signed to sort everything out so you'd only do that if all parties were agreed. This will get sorted.
