Jobyfox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I wouldn’t say that I don’t want him, but I wouldn’t be devastated if he went elsewhere. To me it’s a gamble signing. He could fire us to the Premier League or he could spend a few months with his arse stuck to the bench. This might well centre on how much game time he’s expecting for his different options. With us I don’t think he should be considered a starter ahead of Vardy, Nugent, Wood or even GTF. As an impact player for the last 20 minutes he might, however, be the first player you’d chose to throw on. Would that be enough for him?
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Mahrez looks done, get Phillips signed up now.
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 He wants to finish this season on a high, that's what he said on soccer am this week. I think that's with us if we want him.
Maybes Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 He stands more chance of first team football with Wolves or Forest than he does with us. Can't see us paying through the nose to get him whereas Forest likely will. I imagine he'll be off there.
Lambert09 Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I change my mind on whether or not I want him every time I think about it. Is he just that much too old? Im perfectly happy bringing Taylor-Fletcher and Wood off the bench, even Waghorn in certain situations... Is this just a waste of money or the poacher we are crying out for, im pesimistic due to the fact he hasnt played football for so long, no way in hell hes going to be anywhere near the pace at his age with that time off.
Grewks Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I wouldn't read too much into it either way. But doesn't NP still live in Nottingham? If so, it may have made more sense for him to meet KP somewhere more local. No point in both driving to the king power when they could meet together somewhere closer, they know each other after all.

I thought NP lived in Sheffield
Solihullfox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 I saw KP talk on Soccer AM Saturday where he said he had met with a manager the night before and was very impressed/interested and would be hopefully sort something out during the week. Hope that is right as was only something I saw/heard whilst in the middle of doing something else.

rico Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Well,its definitely not Millwall http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/9105733/transfer-news-kevin-phillips-rules-out-switch-to-millwall
Finnaldo Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Well, its definitely not Millwall http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/9105733/transfer-news-kevin-phillips-rules-out-switch-to-millwall It looks like its us then. Unless Forest/Derby go in he seems Leicester bound.
Nick Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 It looks like its us then. Unless Forest/Derby go in he seems Leicester bound. Yep we're an hour from Rugely with a heavyish toe.
Nick Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Yeah, they are in for him..... we'll just have to see how ambitious he is feeling. Hopefully he'll want to play at Championship level.
tyneside fox Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 KP was on Alan Brazil show this morning and when asked about a move to the KP, he said lots of contact from different managers and the supposed move to City was not true and laughed it off.
Captain... Posted 7 January 2014 Posted 7 January 2014 Can't believe I'm the first to say this: Penalties don't count!!!!!1!!11!!!!
KFS Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 The more shows this guy goes on the less I want him to sign. He's making such a big deal out of it all, fvck me. You're a 40 year old poacher, pal, not Christiano Ronaldo.
indierich06 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Am I the only one who doesn't really care if he comes or not? If he comes, yeah it'll be nice to have a bit of experience and back up for our current strikers, if he doesn't, will I lose any sleep over it? Not a wink. People talk a lot about our supposed striker problem - well this guy is absolutely not the answer. Maybe 5 or 6 years ago at a push, but not at 40 years old.
Kyle_Le_Don Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Not fussed if he comes or not get on with it already
cityfanlee23 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Wellens has signed a new contract with Doncaster, sorry Harry... I hope if they are going to sign him up, he's a good player but this speculation is taking the piss now
cityfanlee23 Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 Sky sports transfer centre - Kevin Phillips has done a brief interview with sky sports radio about his next move... **** he is making this look difficult, banging on about it like it's a 30m deal...
The Blur Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I'm having a nightmare with KP abbreviation. Firstly KP on this thread then King Power in other threads and yesterday I played a team that was called KP on FIFA 14. It is turning in a number 23 scenario with Jim Carrey!

To be fair, there is not much going on hence the increased spotlight on KP's next move. Poor transfer window so far.
80footgiraffe Posted 8 January 2014 Posted 8 January 2014 I honestly don't mind if he signs or not, but if this was one of your last seasons of football, wouldn't you rather try and get promoted to the prem than the champ? As long as his wages aren't too high, this could be a positive signing, but he's drawing it out much too long.
