Simo86 Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Ahaha long live Canero!!! I throw my hands up in the air sometimes.........................
Hugo Sanchez Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Actually Canero was introduced before the Aston Villa game (lost 5 0 ) and was a Micky Adams signing and was shite. Should off scored against leeds when it 2-2 and we would of probably stayed up and been champions of europe now. All Peter Canero fault in hindsight ...
lgfualol Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 If we sign Kevin too, players are going to have to start really taking their chances to even make the bench. We'll have a super strong team.
Greatness_Since_1884 Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 I wonder if this will be similar to the Chris Powell deal. Sign him for a season (or 1/2 season in this case) and hope his experience helps you get promoted. Then promote him to the coaching staff afterwards. I do think another coach wouldn't do us too much harm given it's only Pearson and Shakespeare as specialist outfield coaches
Simonb Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 This is 40-year old Kevin Phillips on a free for a few months that we're talking about. It's hardly Bale to Madrid for £80million stuff! I can't imagine the hordes at the King Power Stadium baying for the introduction of Kevin Phillips with a scrummage of photographers and reporters... Hopefully there will be no 'introduction' on the pitch and it'll just be confirmed on Monday morning when Phillips starts training. Besides, when was the last time a player was introduced on the pitch at Leicester?! The last I can remember is Peter Canero in the Levein era. That one went well... its a better deal than bale to madrid though... he's been injured half the time, had one and a half great seasons and cost £80m KP, experienced, scores goals, only here for a few months, can help coach if required and then he's gone at the end of the season so no long term commitment
_Fatboyslow_ Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 KP, experienced, scores goals, only here for a few months, can help coach if required and then he's gone at the end of the season so no long term commitment Or he joins the coaching staff ? Just a thought
Filberts Treat Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Or he joins the coaching staff ? Just a thought Would't hurt to have a specialist striker coach
Dr The Singh Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 His experience and ability to offer guidance and support in the dressing room will be a great asset

21st Century Fox Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Played against us 14 times, scored 5, assisted 2. 3 Wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats. In case anyone's wondering (and it hasn't already been mentioned).
FoxTrott Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 Pearson on Phillips: "Yeah, it would be nice to sort that one too." Take that as, we are pretty much there.
Hitesh Posted 10 January 2014 Posted 10 January 2014 He has to be on his way given the comment by NP this evening and the wry smile...

Bettsj2 Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 Wernt it jack Hobbs before the Scunthorpe game in league 1???? Could be wrong though[/quote They just announced it over the tannoy that he'd signed a perm deal he didnt come onto the pitch. Peter Canero. Great days.
Guest Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 He has to be on his way given the comment by NP this evening and the wry smile... I think he was just pulling the reporters chain with that - that's how I saw it.
STUHILL Posted 11 January 2014 Posted 11 January 2014 No big secret that he is most likley signing for us on Monday. I am very happy with this and hoping he stays on as a coach after this season Very useful player to come on and be a fox in the box and chip in with a few important goals
dpjfox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 his Palace contract ends today he said so himself on SSN he also said "im signing for a championship midlands clup till the end of the season, and who knows if it ends in promotion then maybe another year", i expect an announcement Tuesday at the latest
MC Prussian Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Don't get me wrong, I think Phillips is still a great player (for his age). However, I ask myself whether we really need another striker. Nugent and Vardy are doing a wonderful job up front so far, Wood has just come back from injury, had a first run-out on Friday and will find his way back into the regular match squad soon. If needed, we can still put Schlupp up there or rely on Waghorn's contribution (yes, he still has it).

I think we will continue to use Schlupp in his utility role, Waghorn will probably go out on loan or better still leave permanently, that leaves us with Nugent, Vardy, Wood, GTF and Phillips...not bad for strength in depth.
sdb Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Don't think we need a striker but someone with a know how of promotion, an experienced head and no risk of prima--dona has to be a decent addition.
Happy Fox Posted 12 January 2014 Author Posted 12 January 2014 Don't think we need a striker but someone with a know how of promotion, an experienced head and no risk of prima--dona has to be a decent addition. He is clinical, that chance that Wood had against Dierby he would of buried that, he will help those strikers not in form. Will be an asset particularly in games where we need a goal to win the game from a drawing position or losing position.
NewquayFox Posted 12 January 2014 Posted 12 January 2014 Sign him up, great goal scorer and will bring the best out of our other strikers, imagine the match with Blackpool with GTF & Phillips coming off the bench, both of them will score....
