Suffolk_fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'd be interested in what other fans think about this statement. I think it's optimistic to say the least, but I think confidence is so high, I think we could actually do it. Discuss...

Jace Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He also said Vardy was a fantastic signing and would come good last season when many others were saying he was not good enough
shade Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He also said Vardy was a fantastic signing and would come good last season when many others were saying he was not good enough that's because he's positive about everything that isn't knockaert related.
Fox92 Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'm up for everyone being confident and everything, rightly so with our current form, but I don't agree at all. Doesn't matter where you are in the league, it doesn't matter if you're Leicester City or Bayern Munich, a team always faces a sticky patch because that's football.
StanSP Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Good way to set us up and himself for a fall. I hope the players don't pay these comments too much attention and really do just focus on the matches on a game-by-game basis.
Guest ttfn Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He also said Vardy was a fantastic signing and would come good last season when many others were saying he was not good enough He also said Beckford would come good. He probably still thinks Robbie Nielson is going to come good.
Brooksy Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'm surprised a former player of all people has made a statement like this. Surely he'd know we'll have an off day or a dodgy ref at some point between now and the end of the season.
maynefox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He's a moron and to be honest fans who accept his statement are just as bad as him. Yes confidence is high, that does not mean we are going to remain unbeaten this is football and this is the Championship where if you have a bad game, the "poor" teams will punish you especially away from home. These statements either puts pressure on the players to remain unbeaten or makes the complacent. We are doing very good this season, there is still a long way to go. Us, more than any team in the league should know this. Let's take one game at a time.Hey, if we do remain unbeaten I'll hold my hands up at the end of the season and apologise (like with Vardy); but these statements are just silly. I thought the commentary last Saturday was the worst I've ever heard, from Stringer and Young .. "WE'VE WON THE LEAGUE. UNBEATEN CHAMPIONS HERE WE COME"
danlcfc4ever Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 To be fair to the guy... all he said was he thought it was possible, and he had a few quid on it. He never said it was gospel, or that he was even confident of it.. I got odds off PaddyPower and they only gave 28/1 on it... which i think is pretty short!
gerrytaggart Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'd be interested in what other fans think about this statement. I think it's optimistic to say the least, but I think confidence is so high, I think we could actually do it. Discuss... He said this after the Leeds game and so far he isnt wrong!! Booooom
Russell sprout Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 It's his opinion,so what,I think we could go the rest of the season unbeaten meself, some are optimists rather than pessimists and don't judge everything on last season,if the likes of myself and Alan young believe this cam happen, what's the issue, each to the own
Beliall Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 i was get the impression he's drunk during the game anyway
Mack Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'm going to stick up for Young a bit here. Firstly it was said in the heat of the moment after a great win and we can all get carried away in that situation, except the things he says are broadcast to all of us, granted maybe he should take a deep breath first maybe. However I actually think what was going on was he was remembering his playing days and the attitude and way he would be feeling as a player in the current run of form and would have probably been better served by saying something like 'As a player at the moment I'd be feeling like we cant lose another match this season' or something along those lines. On a personal note Stringer saying over and over again "We are home and hosed" and Young saying "We wont lose another game this season" in my opinion heaps unwarranted pressure on our players from people who after least season's experience should know better. However I doubt Pearson or his players much listen / take an notice to what the pair of them say anyhow.
Captain... Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 If he said we won't he is an idiot. If he said we could go the rest of the season unbeaten, he is right, we could, but this league is tough and we will almost definitely lose before the end of the season.
ealingfox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 They must be actively trying to derail our season because with so few problems on the pitch, in recent weeks more and more attention has diverted to the quality of their broadcasting....
MC Prussian Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 That coming from a guy who cannot even spell and/or remember players' names during matches. I'm asking myself: Is Youngy getting a bit senile?
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 He's a fan he's as entitled to his opinion as the rest of us......even the guy(his name escapes me ) who thought we'd get relegated this season is entitled to his opinion
Dan Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I'd bet every club in the division will lose at least twice yet. Leicester included.
HitchinFox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Personally, I find it reassuring that an overwhelming majority of us think the recent statements by messieurs Young and Stringer are beyond ridiculous. Shows that we aren't being deluded. We will lose games between now and May and so will other teams. Do I believe that we have the best chance of going up since 2003? You betcha. Do I think we can win the league? Of course. Do I fear that we'll do it the Lesta way and go up by clinching second spot on the last day of the season through goal difference? Most definitely. None of the Alton Towers rides have a patch on us.
Webbo Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 What does it matter? Does anybody genuinely think this statement will affect our season in anyway?
