Babylon Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 I don't care if he's correct or not, it was a ludicrous suggestion at the time. Up there with all the other nosense the bloke spouts during the course of a season. If he actually manages to somehow fluke a prediction like this, it will still be like the analogy a broken clock is right twice a day.
Buce Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 I don't think you have thought this through mate. £100 to get £250. Is odds of 6/4. That is shocking odds to go unbeaten for another 7 games! 5/2, surely?
Paulmot Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 This "Lucky F*****R" Made a statement 12 games ago. After seeing Leicester go 8 unbeaten. Phil Taylor once replied to the statement he was lucky. The more I practice the luckier I get. This season we have never given up or stopped going to the last minute. So perhaps hard work persistence and belief makes us luckier. If we remain undefeated till the end of the season are you going to tell the squad they are all "Lucky F****RS or say they were undefeatable. 20 games considering who we have played is remarkable on it's own.
Munshi Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Youngy isn't even that bad, fvcks sake the man made a prediction that looks to be happening. What's wrong with it?
Frost Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Not sure why some are having a go at the people who originally slated Young. Come on, his prediction was absolutely nuts. People in a mental asylum wouldn't have predicted anything as crazy as this.
DB11 Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 If all our games finished at 80 minutes we would have lost 6 of the last 20 games. Wow. EDIT: Wait, it's only 5 games. Whoops ANOTHER EDIT: No, it's only 4. I can't count. 4 late goals have prevented defeats, 2 late goals have secured wins. And if they finished at 80 minutes in 2003/04 we'd have finished in Europe About time the tables turned in our favour
anotherwin Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 it's only a bit of banter between the two of them surely, also am I the only one who likes Alan Young and his commentary? maybe it's an age thing, I am over 60
fuchsntf Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Not sure why some are having a go at the people who originally slated Young. Come on, his prediction was absolutely nuts. People in a mental asylum wouldn't have predicted anything as crazy as this.Thats why when I agreed with him, the asylum was happy to let me go.I have already took up Cadburys fruit n nut sponsorship. This thread shows up the difference between the cynics + doubters and the true believers, like myself.who have faith. You see I am a fan who likes the cottonwool over my eyes. Its the journey itself, not the negatives one will obviously come across, its the enjoyment of the positives, my glass is neither half full or empty, its always full. Never liked the taste of 'Whoaaa what happens if'....God perfection would be boring, I knew he >Young< would be right, until...........and if...
Mark_w Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 Of course his prediction involved a slice of luck. All unbeaten runs involve a slice of luck unless you're absolutely dominating a league like, say, Bayern are this season. But... we are?
separator Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 it's only a bit of banter between the two of them surely, also am I the only one who likes Alan Young and his commentary? maybe it's an age thing, I am over 60 I like his commentary and I'm under 40 (just!). He's obviously a fan, he's honest, says what he thinks, and is a good partnership with Stringer. Ok, he may get a few names wrong and isn't a trained media type, but a biased commentary team is just what you want from a local radio station. Hope he wins his bet.
ADK Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 He reminds me of Eddie Jordan in F1. Talks a lot of shit but occasionally says something truthful.
StanSP Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 I want us to lose just to spite him tbh Bugger that. Is your hatred of Alan Young overpowering your love for Leicester? That's pretty sad.
65RosesFox Posted 2 April 2014 Posted 2 April 2014 5/2, surely? Nope definitely 6/4. The guy Rico put £5 on @ 100/1 = £505 Foxes_rule1978 said he'd give £100 to get half. Therefore £250 return from £100 stake. Which is equivalent to 6/4. I have gambled and lost far too much money at the bookies through the years that unfortunately I can work out odds, stake and returns without a calc nowadays.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 April 2014 Posted 3 April 2014 But... we are? If we were champions with 7/8 games to play then I'd concede we're dominating the league like Bayern are. But we didn't. So we're not.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Every cloud, we would never of herd the end of it had it come in.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Look on the bright side, Youngy, you can get ya mop chopped
The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Bugger that. Is your hatred of Alan Young overpowering your love for Leicester? That's pretty sad. We've already won the league and are promoted, it has no effect on us.
StanSP Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 We've already won the league and are promoted, it has no effect on us. Good to say that after we've promoted . You shouldn't want us to lose at all!
The Horse's Mouth Posted 8 April 2014 Posted 8 April 2014 Good to say that after we've promoted . You shouldn't want us to lose at all! We've been promoted for about 2 fking months.
