Weller in Tights Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 At the end of the day, we didn't play well against Yeovil and got a point, chopped & changed against Wigan and got a point, came from behind against Blackpool to win..... it's what Champions do. So true, PREMIERSHIP CLASS
Unabomber Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Alan Young is going to be right isn't he If you keep saying things you are bound to be right about something eventually
Leicesterpool Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Well i said I'd take a draw and we got it! Wasn't our strongest performance but we've still managed to walk away with something, it's just our luck this year! Again another step forward towards the premier league and that lovely silver cup!
Simmo86 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We were bad though. What else are we supposed to say? "Oh that was an excellent pass to the Wigan player for the 50th time tonight" After the game and if we had lost then fair enough. But we made 6 changes at a team who are flying, hardly going to be our normal free flowing game was it? Some people just go OTT with their moaning.
AKCJ Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I'm still laughing at all the fans who were slagging off Pearson and his changes for this game. Granted, we were a bit lucky. But for both King and Hammond to score to shut up the doubters was just so sweet. And it's 20 unbeaten. Incredible. So you think he made the right decisions? Obviously it's easy to look a smartarse with hindsight. We got out of jail tonight but I can't complain with the result. Personally think we made the game much harder than it should have been, we rested our best players but we managed to get the job done by the skin of our teeth so I can't complain too much. Still feels an opportunity missed, we could have been 9 points clear. Champions are ruthless and that wasn't, however another hallmark of champions is belief and a never say die attitude which is what we've got in abundance.
Devonfox1884 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I thought GTF was excellent when he came on. I was calling for drinky to come on for hammond just before super kev came on... I would be a crap manager!! Soooooooooo happy to be proved wrong.
steveherbe Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Ok, I'm gonna get this in early, I'm genuinely sorry I slagged np and the lads tonight. I was angry, frustrated and disappointed but, at 62 years old I should kmow better. So please ft'ers, dont think bad of me, just put it down to pmt and/or early onset Alzheimers. Once again, humble apologies, now let it go.
Ric Flair Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I don't think i've ever been as relaxed as that through a game. It felt like a friendly. I genuinely didn't care too much if we lost as it was a free game and I just wanted minutes in to Kingy, Hammond, Wood and Moore who haven't played for ages. I just knew we weren't going to be beaten, i've seen this with other clubs over the years but not us. MASSIVE!!!!!!!!!!! Goals for those two is a great tonic, they've had to play minor roles this season which must be frustrating but I felt King was very good today and Hammond showed his cleverness in protecting our back four. Two decent finishes too. Mahrez for those last 10 minutes was like one of them russain hamsters, absolutely vicious. Went from 1st gear to 5th like that and Wigan couldn't handle him. Nicely set up now for Friday. This is it!!!!!!!!!!
Socks Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I acutally went for us to win in my accumilator but 2-2 ill take it! thats all we needed to do 6 more points ;-)
iancognito Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 "I'm not just talking technical qualities, I've got a good a good group of people here" - Pearson post-match No doubting that, Dyer chasing back 40 yards and winning the ball back in the last 3 minutes showed that.
Grewks Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 If we could defend set pieces it would've been 2-0. We were not that bad, and Wigan didn't create a good chance in open play. Point was a fair result.

iamafox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Last season we would have given up chasing a game like this. Once again, the players have showed tremendous determination to earn a brilliant point, albeit with a weakened team. On the flipside, defending set-pieces is an obvious problem we need to fix. Sheff Wed will be exploiting that on Friday so we have to be aware of what they will try to do.
Carl the Llama Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Who was Pearson blowing a kiss at! Me. I just know it was.
LanguedocFox Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Right, I'm off to bed. Great result, and one in the eye for the whingers and moaners. COYB - Foxes don't know how to quit.

Of course he made the right decision, we've just drew against arguably the best side in the league (bar us)

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 UUUUUUUUUUUUP The football here we go!!!!!
Swalker Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 We deliberately didn't win because NP wanted promotion to be sealed in front of our fans at the game
Leicesterpool Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 I loved it when Nigel said "We didn't come here to try and draw, we came here to win!" That's what I like to hear

That sounds like logic though, that's no fun at all!
darko2k7 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 Very good point stolen tonight , keeps the run going BUT my word that match thread was a disgrace at times tonight .
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 April 2014 Posted 1 April 2014 The two guys some thought shouldn't play both scored... Good strength in depth... that is why we are top
