St Ledger to leave. Confirms he hasn't been offered new deal on Twitter

Shame about the injuries etc, and a lot of people seem to have the idea that he's a decent chap too.

All the best in the future, wherever you Sean.

Very good player. He read the game well so his contribution often went under the radar. He would rarely be making last-ditch tackles which get noticed by the fans cos he’d just be in the right place to stop the attacks in the first place.

As for memories: Becoming the first LCFC player to score in the European Championships was a pretty good one.

Met him a few times, he's an absolute salt of the earth. He enjoys his life in a way most of us could only dream about and that can come across as a bit of a troublemaker or someone whose not serious about football. I rated him a lot during his spells where he had a run of games without injury and i'm sure he'll be an asset for anyone in the Championship next season if he's over his injuries.

All the best Sean and may I doft my cap to you on the exceptional boiler you've recently bagged yourself, luckily she looks nothing like her namesake Wayne Rooney.

I really want to invent a game show called Salt Or Salad? where Flair passes judgement on a wide variety of society's finest, using his own unique perspective. This definitely has potential.

Thanks for your time with us, Sean. Sadly, for various reasons, it wouldn't work out so I wish you the best in the near and distant future.

I hope that you can continue with your career somewhere else (In the Championship, preferably), whilst improving still.

You sound awful bitter about basically nothing. There's a difference between crawling up someones arse and just being a pleasant person.

Yes, there is a difference.

"good luck at your next club", "best wishes", "shame it never worked out for you here" = being a pleasant person

"can't believe we've let you go, you're a great player", "gutted that you're leaving", "we'll miss you" = crawling up his arse

I'm not bitter about it at all. I neither like nor dislike Sean St Ledger. I think he's a perfectly capable player who can do a job at this level (although I believe he perhaps thinks he's a bit better than he is and that he's quite frequently got a mistake in him however that's another issue). But I also think that he's just another player who has passed through the club with no legacy, having not done anything to benefit the club and having left no mark.

In times like these when we are moving on from underachieving and paying mercenaries extortionate amounts I don't have time for blowing hot air up the arse of someone who has (even by his own admission) done very little in his time at the club. If, say, Wes Morgan left whilst I'd never do so myself I could understand people heaping praise on him. Sean St Ledger?! No, I just don't get it....

These days it's almost as if, had Twitter been around when Wise lamped Davidson, as long as Dennis Wise would have Tweeted something along the lines of "Sad my time at the club has ended like this. Thanks to the fans for their great support, hope you get what you deserve #keepthefaith" then some people would have been wishing him well on his way despite the fact he'd taken more from the club than he'd given.

If you understand it, fair enough. I just don't get it myself.

hes right we never saw the best of him did we, injuries played a massive part in that, personally think he was a decent player, just maybe his attitude at times, from what ive heard, wasn't the greatest, good luck to him

Good luck sean-the scenes after your 95th minute winner vs Wycombe in the cup were awesome!! Hope you get a contract at a decent championship club: middlesborough, blackburn, wolves etc...

I'd be kissing this club's arse too if I was on near 25k a week. Good luck to the bloke, through no fault of his own...he made an absolute killing for doing fvck all.

Am sure he will end up at a championship club with decent resources. Wolves, Ipswich, maybe even Sheff Wed. Seemed to really turn attitude around after he was transfer listed and started the season very much in the fold.

Decent player and was playing well until Hull ( I think) at home last season.

Got put on silly money but who wouldn't take it if offered?

If he likes a beer then fair play - so do I and if I was on that money I'd be on it too with regular trips to lap dancing clubs as well.

just as well I'm shit at footie :-)

Decent enough player but poor attitude, tried to go up against Pearson and failed, tatty bye.

Couldn't be more wrong if u tried.

People having a go about his injuries and wage (neither of which were his fault) but don't see what he did behind the scenes with the younger players. He was one of the most liked players at the club with the other players & staff (including Pearson).

I for one thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best in the future

Best decisions for all parties. He's said his thanks. Good luck to him. Move on.

Don't see the point in giving a decent bloke crap on twitter about his injuries or performances - especially given he hasn't played for about a year. He didn't seem a bad egg in the dressing room either as the players all like him too. God knows we've had worse!

Top pro and never saw him have a really bad game. Always gave 100% and honestly think he could have made a difference without the injuries. Premier league ! Fit i would have liked to see him stay.

That SSL. Cant say the same for Whitbread.
