shailen Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 looking at our fixtures we have got the best run of fixtures out of all of the relegation candidates. Doesn't mean anything though. If we win then it's great, we gain ground on them and push them back into it, we lose and we lose ground on them. So really it is all in our own hands. Bear in mind, at times like this in the season, form means literally nothing. With stakes higher than ever, a team like QPR or Burnley could go on a four match winning streak. All I know is that we have to do something special and nothing from this season's results suggests we can do it, but because it's in our own hands, we still remarkably can get out of this situation. We must take more risks though in games imo.
yorkie1999 Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 How on earth have we gone from absolutely murdering the Championship to being the worst side in the worst Premier League I can remember? Utterly depressing.Because the championship is about winning and most of the sides a fairly evenly matched. The premier league is all about not losing. We would have been better off signing 9 6foot defenders and one striker.
ScouseFox Posted 7 March 2015 Posted 7 March 2015 harry kane is 100% going bald too, only 21 ain't he poor fvcker
Guest Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 Agreed, I think it's bad for Villa, it's been the kiss of death for the last couple of struggling teams. Like most top leagues it has a few good teams (purchased) and the rest are average.
MooseBreath Posted 8 March 2015 Posted 8 March 2015 In any other European first division we'd be competing for a European spot. In France we'd easily be top 10. Wow lol A little bit optimistic there granny. Next you'll be saying Schlupp is a premier league player.

Leicesterpool Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 West brom are ****ing terrible. There's so many shit teams in the PL. It's been a disappointing premier league season, I know there's a tight relegation battle but the teams near the bottom have all been crap and playing such boring football. I've been taking alot of note of the championship this season and that's been far more entertaining and near the top of that, there's about four or fives teams going for the title.

Don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere else on the forum, but the top 5 teams are separated by 1 point! 1 point!!
Callabinho Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 FA cup yes, but Michael Oliver take a ****ing bow.
lcfcliam Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 FA cup yes, but Michael Oliver take a ****ing bow. One of the best refereeing performances I have ever seen he has got every single decision spot on tonight
Devonfox1884 Posted 9 March 2015 Posted 9 March 2015 He's done himself proud tonight. Well done Michael.
AjcW Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Burnley have dipped into the free transfer market to get Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad Not bad, are we missing out on some free's that could help with competition?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Burnley have dipped into the free transfer market to get Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad Not bad, are we missing out on some free's that could help with competition? Not sure how useful a 22 year old who has been playing in the Norwegian premier league will be at this point of the season, always a risk that he may take time to adapt, time which us and the likes of Burnley don't have. I don't really think there's a lot we can do to this squad at this point in the season, whilst they haven't shown consistent quality they have shown glimpses of what they are capable of, our only hope now is that everything clicks. It does look unlikely but the saving grace is that we still seem to have a united dressing room, lets hope that pays off in some positive manner.
MC Prussian Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 Burnley have dipped into the free transfer market to get Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad Not bad, are we missing out on some free's that could help with competition? Only if there were a decent attacking midfielder and left-back available. But happy hunting - that's a toughie.
Clever Fox Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 We should get Houlihan from Norwich in, such an intelligent player in Midfield and playing others in.
Jimothy Posted 10 March 2015 Posted 10 March 2015 We should get Houlihan from Norwich in, such an intelligent player in Midfield and playing others in. Is that Wes Hoolahan's Egyptian cousin?
phg Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Imagine what could have happened if we changed manager before Xmas. Can't beat a few wins with the new manager syndrome!!! Yeah, strange but it truly does work that way 9 times out of 10. Really wishing we'd gone for Pulis now.
Donut Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Yeah, strange but it truly does work that way 9 times out of 10. Really wishing we'd gone for Pulis now. I get the argument for long term stability and not relying on new manager bounce every Januray onwards to get results. It seems like a road Sunderland have trodden for example and youd obviously want a manager to get all aspects of the club right. But the long term is going to be heavily infuenced by the short term at the moment, and when youve got a guy like Tony Pulis in charge, you know for a fact that his team is going to be at least well organised, competitive, solid, and above all else effective in taking points. And whether its Pulis or not, theres a real premium on that kind of knowhow at the top level. The level of vitriol directed at Pulis by some on this forum was completely baseless and ignorant of the fact that he is an excellent manager. And first you need a solid base to build the club from. He provides that.
teblin Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 What not Jamie Vardy? He did it all the time last year! http://talksport.com/football/top-seven-players-most-frequently-cautioned-simulation-premier-league-150310139257?p=3
Dan Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Still don't think Pulis would've come here anyway. Pearson seems to be doing everything to put me off him lately mind you.
Leicesterpool Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Just out of interest why wouldn't have Pulis not being interested in coming?
dsr-burnley Posted 11 March 2015 Posted 11 March 2015 Burnley have dipped into the free transfer market to get Norwegian midfielder Fredrik Ulvestad Not bad, are we missing out on some free's that could help with competition? Emergency cover only, I think. He's signed a 3-year contract, so I think he's more for the future than the present. (Mind you, when I say emergency cover only, I think the emergency is happening!)

In my opinion that behaviour warrants a longer ban than those seen for letting off a flare or smoke grenade at the football.
