deep blue Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 "life on the bench"-[/i ] strange if true that NP has said this I suspect that if Pearson has said anything it's along the lines of "next season you will all need to step up an extra level, i will be bolstering the squad, competition for starting places will be even more fierce, no one is guaranteed to start, and the demands of the Prem will mean that the whole squad will be called upon more often than last season". And any sensible player will accept this as quite reasonable. All that's happening here is that while Nuge is on holiday his agent is using whatever means he can to drive up his client's offer from us. I hope I'm not wrong!
little Brian Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 disappointing that Nugent still takes a wage from Portsmouth , hes greedy
muzzy1981 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I'm a little surprised by what's going on but I have faith in Nige and the team. I guess if he goes then their theory is that Vardy as our number one retained striker, with Wood kept as future prospect, which if is the case then we are i'd have thought we will sign two new strikers. Campbell and one other. Vardy Wood Campbell (?) Ulloa/Akoubar/Pele (?) The above is probably better than: Vardy Wood Nuge Campbell (?)
foxes_rule1978 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 disappointing that Nugent still takes a wage from Portsmouth , hes greedy Greedy? why he is owed the money, Portsmouth were poorly run and he didn't get paid...
Cat Burger Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I heard he's bought a house opposite my mate's mum (in Leicestershire)
little Brian Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Greedy? why he is owed the money, Portsmouth were poorly run and he didn't get paid... no hes greedy
Nick Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 It's his last payday contract - there will never be another one for him after this when he's in his 30's. His representatives will do their jobs. I do wonder if this is agreed but not yet finalised with detail a la Kasper.
GingerrrFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I genuinely think he could leave. He wants the money and contract length that we aren't prepared to offer him.
Dan Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Said for a while I think he'll be off. Just got a feeling.
Devonfox1884 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I'd like him to stay, but i think he will go. However, i trust NP to bring in a more than suitable replacement.
foxfanazer Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 disappointing that Nugent still takes a wage from Portsmouth , hes greedyHaha idiot
MGLCFC Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Seem to remember it took ages before he initially signed under Sven.

I do wonder if this is agreed but not yet finalised with detail a la Kasper. Agree with this, he has to get the best deal he can at this stage of his career. If prem clubs are in for him, its a simple case of highest bidder wins. We have to offer the right sustainable deal for the club, if that puts us out the running then so be it. Hopefully we can find a good solution for both parties, I like Nugent.
PAPA LAZAROU Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 I like Nugent too. But that has no bearing on weather he can do it in the Prem . We are no longer a mug club when it comes down to finance, and that is down to the fact that we now have two money men on the payroll . They will work out the odds as too weather he is worth it or not in terms of his age experience and new wage demands. They will listen to his agents pitch and if they don't think he's worth it they will say so. And on that unknown evidence will the outcome become known. My personal view is he should be lucky at his age that he is being offered a tilt at the Premiership for one last time and just like Lloyd Dyer should take it with both arms open. If not there is always new talent and he will quickly become a fond memory of one of the clubs best years and nothing more.
Corky Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 disappointing that Nugent still takes a wage from Portsmouth , hes greedy So he shouldn't get money that he is owed?
jammie82uk Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 disappointing that Nugent still takes a wage from Portsmouth , hes greedy So you work for free then do you?
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 just seen that Chris Brown is getting 10 grand a week at Blackburn - the mind boggles. At that rate Nuge is worth £50k! :nuge:
80footgiraffe Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 So you work for free then do you? Well, I certainly don't get paid for a job I don't do anymore.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Well, I certainly don't get paid for a job I don't do anymore. What if you had a previous job and didn't get paid, would you expect to get money back you are owed?
NewburyFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 What if you had a previous job and didn't get paid, would you expect to get money back you are owed? The difference is that Nuge is a millionaire and knows Portsmouth don't have a pot to piss in. I think he waived some of the money he was owed but does he really need the rest?
Rich Fox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 The difference is that Nuge is a millionaire and knows Portsmouth don't have a pot to piss in. I think he waived some of the money he was owed but does he really need the rest? Agree with this he was on fortune at Pompey and when they can't pay anymore he still wants to bleed them dry. He is a greedy twat and is on silly money here and still wants more.

Stevosevic Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Bye Nuge, thanks for the goals, but you are replaceable in the Premier League.
johnny the fox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 If its true that its all about money ..(we don't know it for sure) then bye nuge and thanks .. we want people who are ambitious to do better with their short careers..
Stevosevic Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 We don't owe him anything. He has been paid handsomely for three seasons in the Championship, that should cover it. If we've offered him what Nige thinks he is worth, we stick to that.
