Guest Col city fan Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 Yeah let's totally ignore all the games when he was the match winner. I don't doubt he has his ineffectual games but I think he's been a great player for us overall and I just get the sense he's a massive character to have around the club. I know that isn't any basis to give him a new contract. This... EVERY player has ineffectual games. The good players up their game when its most needed. Nugent did this at City on many occasions this season.
muzzy1981 Posted 5 July 2014 Posted 5 July 2014 It's in the club interest for him to stay fit in case he does sign a new contract, be weird if they said you can't train. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
goose2010 Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Ian Stringer @StringerSport now It’s our understanding that #LCFC striker David Nugent is on a rolling weekly contract until a new deal is signed. 2yr has been offered
lcfcsnow Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Nuge holding out for 3 years. He can stay on his rolling contract then. This situation is ridiculous It isn't our doing though? We've negotiated sensibly in that we haven't offered Dyer and Nugent 3 year deals.
Stevosevic Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Nuge holding out for 3 years. And how long are we prepared to keep him on a one week rolling? Surely got to be a cut off date where we decide enough is enough, sign the two years or move on.
GingerrrFox Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 He's very unlikely to get 3 years the sooner he accepts it the better, Terry Robinson is no push over and will do what is right for the club.

Steven Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 It is clear Nugent is not committed. He will stay on this "rolling contract" until such time as he can find someone who will sign him for three years. Jog on Nuge.
queensguardfox Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Im glad Terry Robinson isnt bowing down!! and is doing what is best for the club regardless of who they are. take the two years jeb end!! We will hear more on Tonights Forum. Deffo would love to hear the story behind this.
RizLCFC Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Happy with the clubs stance on this. A 2 year deal at his age he should be accepting.
queensguardfox Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 he wants one of thes 4/3 year deals everyones getting, getting a bit jealous.
Mark_w Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 It is clear Nugent is not committed. He will stay on this "rolling contract" until such time as he can find someone who will sign him for three years. Jog on Nuge. Is this serious? A player wanting a three year contract with a club is not a sign that he's not committed to said club.
Steven Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Is this serious? A player wanting a three year contract with a club is not a sign that he's not committed to said club. Deadly serious. He is only committed to the length of his contract. If he was committed to the Club he would try to negotiate a deal whereby there is an option for a third year if the Club take up that option and then do the business on the training ground and pitch that makes a compelling case for the Club to take up that option. Reasonable or not?
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 I'd warrant this 1 week rolling contract isn't anything like what he was or will be on.
KFS Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 David what are you doing. Or David's representatives more like..
Walshy5 Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 This has gone on long enough. Its time he was told either take 2 years or Foxtrot Oscar!
Nick Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 Pearson took 8 months to negotiate his.... I'm not sure I saw too many posts complaining and stating he was holding the club to ransom.......... The fella only turned 29 in May - this is his peak and in two years time he knows he may not be signing another Prem contract - of course his representatives are gonna try and hold out for a three year deal - so what. Don't hate the player - hate the game.
jock2612 Posted 7 July 2014 Posted 7 July 2014 This is just stupid. Why not 3 years he is our top scorer and the right age.On this basis why give Wes 3 years? The club have to accept that if players like Cambell are too expensive DN may be our best option.
