FoxyPalace.com Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Move on now, Think Watford will regret that. Slimani it is then.
Devonfox1884 Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 They're mugs for rejecting that, but I'm glad they have, especially when we can get Slimani for half the price.
Bamba's Babes Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Rejected £10M-£12M for Troy Deeney. My days. I now don't want him, would rather give that money to another club.
Raw Dykes Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 That's insane. Glad they rejected it. Maynard mkII.
mozartfox Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Stuff tWatford. Move on. For this kind of money we can do much better, although I suspect any player will have to come from outside of England as the Market here has gone insane at the moment. When Watford are struggling come January, they will take half that being offered by us right now. Maynard MKII and look where he is now.
johnny the fox Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 He is their player, they want to keep him, end of... we would be the same.. if he stays loyal to them then its a refreshing change.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I believe Watford just want to keep their player, but will he be happy with the situation? I wonder? Should Watford not get promoted this season, then they could be anxious to off load him, in order to rebuild, and he could well go for less than they have been offered already. It's a gamble that may or not pay off for them.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Why on earth would they reject that? Why on earth would we pay that?
Super_horns Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I think his only chance of a move now will be to hand in a transfer request.. Doesn't seem to be any likelihood of that. Pretty happy and settled which helps us reject such bids. Hopefully he won't get injured!

Fair plays to you guys I guess, turning down a bid like that shows some real ambition, your fans must be happy with decision.
STUHILL Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Doesn't seem to be any likelihood of that. Pretty happy and settled which helps us reject such bids. Hopefully he won't get injured! Yeh fair play. Your owners have obviously seen the bigger picture and if it pays off and he helps you get promoted, 10 million will be pennies to what Prem football will give you. It is a risk though, as come January and you are midtable with Deeney either injured or struggling to score, that 10-12million value will drop drastically I think that potentially your owners have made the right decision though. Good luck!
Tuna Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I think we need to stop pursuing these sort of unrealistic targets and get players in in the positions where we need them most.
Super_horns Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Well do you need another striker - 2 scored today.
Bamba's Babes Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I cringed at £6.5M; to have £12M rejected is a relief to be honest. I rate Deeney and I wanted him to join but for that price we could buy 4 Rickie Lamberts!
weller54 Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Tell them to stick Deeney up their back sides.. We DON'T need him!!!... They do after getting mullered at Norwich... Promotion candidates my A*se!!!!
weller54 Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 ...12m for Deeney!!.. Thank God the idiots rejected that bid... What will he be worth when the Golden Boys are struggling in mid table come Christmas?... What a World apart... We draw against the 5th best team in the Premier League and the Golden Boys get hammered 3-0 at Norwich.. No goals from the 12m+ valued striker then???? Question is... Why on earth would Deeney want to stay will such a small, mediocre club??.... Perhaps because it's the big fish in a small bowl syndrome?... Let's face it, he'd only be a squad player with us in the Big Boys league!!
jammie82uk Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 Does this mean we haven't bid or it hasn't been rejected
Brenfox Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I think he is saying we haven't bid. £10 million is crazy for Deeney. In spite of what happened today I don't think we need another striker. Leo, Nuge & Vardy are all first team players & will not be happy to sit on the bench.

reids Posted 16 August 2014 Posted 16 August 2014 I doubt they'd reject that sort of money. Why? As others have said, he's key to Watfords season, a near guaranteed 20 goals, not sure many of the backup strikers can match that. The rewards of the premier league (which the Pozzos are ultimately after) will far outweigh 10m.
