Simmo86 Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 He can dream about 90k a week. Never going to get it.
Babylon Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Seriously swerve Defoe. £90k a week is ridiculous and even if you half that you're paying far too much for someone who's done nothing in a long time. He was undoubtedly good one day but this is the kind of signing I'd expect QPR, or us under Sven to make. Nothing in a long time? He only went to the MLS in February and before that got 10 in 23 games in all comps. Wages could be a problem, but we've spent very little on fees so far.
Adster Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Hope it doesn't happen. Don't want him at all.

ealingfox Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Glad I'm not the only one that thinks its a bad idea.
Dan Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 He can finish, I'll give him that much. Give him that Nugent chance at Chelsea & Schlupp chance v Everton and I think you'd see goals. It's hard to explain really, I've just got a feeling it won't be as great as made out to be. I wouldn't be surprised if we do hold talks but he doesn't sign.

veezeeblue Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 So what exacly has to happen before 11pm? What makes something "real" and accepted to the FA / FIFA etc whereas something at 11:01pm didnt make it?
bluesbrothers Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 I shouldn't think any club that's in for him will, so he'll be taking a cut. Apparently QPR are not interested. He must be good then. Sign him up.
ChrisFilter Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Look at you lot dismissing Defoe. Who the flip do you think we are?! He'd be a cracking signing.
foxfan92 Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 i dunno about this one (Defoe) - tbh we could do with a striker who has that golden touch that manages to find the net more often than not Nugent needs to score a few times because while I've thought he was one of the best players on the pitch until he gets in the opponent’s penalty box i think wherever he goes he'll score in the teens - and if that’s what we need to win some of these games when we just can't steal a goal any other way then so be it I know we have Wood who seems to be able to come on and score - and Ulloa is looking like he might get a few Hoping Vardy keeps creating chances like the 83rd min against Arsenal - but puts some away against stoke to build his confidence up However you can never have too many goal scorers at a club - and NP seems to believe we need to be a team with goal scoring options Perhaps we could give Defoe a large enough signing on fee to bring his wage demands down to fit our current harmonious system?
Jace Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 What are Jedwards younger brothers doing at the training ground??
sylofox Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Well that remains to be seen, he's been playing in the MLS ffs. Do we need him? If we need someone in a striking position it should be someone for the 10 role that is an improvement on Nugent. Hardly, do you really see this as anything but a glamour signing? He wants 90 grand a week! And we've likely not scouted him specifically or in any detail for our team. You think this seems like the kind of thing Pearson would do? No it is not something Pearson would normally do. But Defoe would not go to a championship side. Being in the prem with extra cash Pearson can do more than he ever could before. We are praps now seeing the real Pearson and not the hands tied Pearson of the past.
Riot Van Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Kris Scott signed, bit of an awkward interview.
Kitchandro Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Kris Scott signs. Who are these fvcking kids behind the reporter, embarrassing the people of Leicester. Twats.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 The downside with Defoe has and always will be his height - it means you can't play him as a lone striker. The big plus is his pace - now that could go nicely alongside Ulloa. For me it's all down to the pounds and pence men, if the deal works on a financial sense, it's worth a go - after all it feels a tad better than McGoldrick and him and Cambiasso may get a few other quality players to turn their heads towards Leicester come January.
Carlos88LCFC Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Look at you lot dismissing Defoe. Who the flip do you think we are?! He'd be a cracking signing. I don't think people are doubting his ability... just the wage demand. Anyone doubting his ability should quit football and start following water polo or something because without a shadow of a doubt he would be amazing for us.
crazylegs1984 Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 why the hell is mr whippy at the training ground someone go and put a flake in his ear soppy knob
Danno Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Who the **** were those gimps. Hope Nick Powell runs them over on his way in.
ScouseFox Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 defoe wouldn't particularly improve our squad at 30k a week let alone 90k
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 1 September 2014 Posted 1 September 2014 Talk of a loan until Jan with a view to a permanent move, we pay him 40k a week until Jan, keep paying him it if he plays well, back to Toronto if he doesn't, have a release clause for relegation, find it hard to see a negative in that scenario.
