dave_1988 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I can't get over this. It's been hours and I'm still buzzing. I couldn't even watch El Cashico, because I simply didn't care. We had just beaten Man Utd 5-3. And we deserved it. For Man Utd fans to have the gall to complain about a penalty given against them is the ultimate irony. I remember when we got relegated in 07-08 that we had so many refereeing decisions go against us, it was ridiculous. Kisnorbo getting unfairly sent off at Bramall Lane, Beattie scoring a hattrick and losing 3-0 was oh so sore. Today Vardy hustled a penalty of out Rafael with all of his non-league experience and a footballing savvy that Rafael sadly doesn't possess. He made his own luck. And with a professional, well-organised performance that we've come to expect of this team, they took total advantage of the small glimmer of hope offered, and overturned a 3-1 deficit in possibly the most amazing half hour of football I've seen from Leicester. We totally deserved it today folks, outscoring a team that has one of the most sparkling attacking line-ups possible in football today. All credit to Nigel, the coaching staff, the squad and the KP fans. Considering the gulf in resources, I really think this may be a more spectacular result than the Dutch beating Spain in the world cup. Right now, we are lucky to have a fantastic manager and a hard-working, talented squad. Keep in mind this season will not be easy, and we can easily be dragged into the relegation battle with a few bad results. This is even more reason for us to enjoy results like this one as much as possible. We got a historic victory today. Let's enjoy it.
hejammy Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 What an unbelievable feeling - still hasn't sunk in. We deserved it whichever way you look at it. It's disappointing that United fans are coming out with all these excuses, especially as they've had more than their fair share of dubious decisions go there way over the last decade or so. They were defensively poor and we were excellent, so hardly surprising that we won really. United fans need to quickly realise that they are not the team they used to be, take teams like us seriously and if we beat you then it's cause we deserve to, not because of the ref, or anyone diving, or because it's Sunday! Give us some respect for crying out of loud! Anyways the ground was rocking today, great atmosphere to match an amazing game. To watch cambiasso organise the team like he's been here for 10 years was a beaut! 5-3...Bring on palace and the rest of the world! (OK the rest of the world is a bit OTT)
Guest ttfn Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I have to say that having watched it back on MOTD I can understand the United fans' frustrations with the first penalty. Either both Vardy's challenge and Rafael's challenge are fouls or neither are. Either way it shouldn't end up as a penalty.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Loving Jimmy-Floyd Haisselbaink. And Murphy. Good to see us getting credit on MOTD...
ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I have to say that having watched it back on MOTD I can understand the United fans' frustrations with the first penalty. Either both Vardy's challenge and Rafael's challenge are fouls or neither are. Either way it shouldn't end up as a penalty. as i saw it, vardy won a shoulder to shoulder, both running at each other from the side, whereas rafael just stupidly bundled into the back of vardy.
Raw Dykes Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Dear QPR, That team that thrashed you last week? They're rubbish!
Guest ttfn Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 as i saw it, vardy won a shoulder to shoulder, both running at each other from the side, whereas rafael just stupidly bundled into the back of vardy. I think that is what Clattenburg would say to justify it, but I think Vardy gives him a bit of a push.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Amazing game love exciting feelings like that at the City!!! All heroes. Atmosphere was amazing and everyone played wel. Great team
Webbo Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Just realised that DeGea never made a save all match, I can't remember him claiming a cross either.
ScouseFox Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I think that is what Clattenburg would say to justify it, but I think Vardy gives him a bit of a push. i haven't seen a replay of it yet, just what i saw in the ground, i sit half way down sk1 so was right in front of me. as soon as vardy knocked him over i knew we'd get a penalty, very clever play from jamie.
lgfualol Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Who cares? Well obviously NO-ONE cares, not even me. I didn't mean to offend you. I want to see our players get credit from him.
NeilLCFC Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Buzzing!!!!! This feels better than when we clinched the title last season Still end up laughing to myself every time I read a match report
Swarles Barkley Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 as i saw it, vardy won a shoulder to shoulder, both running at each other from the side, whereas rafael just stupidly bundled into the back of vardy. Completely agree. I thought I was going crazy when it seemed like I was the only one who thought this. It was a shoulder barge to Rafael, albeit a physical one, but guess what football is a physical game and Rafael shouldve been stronger. Also with the penalty , it was a push in the BACK, and not shoulder to shoulder, so is a penalty. A soft penalty but a penalty nevertheless. Its also funny, how no one is mentioning the ridiculous corner kick clattenburg gave that nearly led to Rojo scoring.
Raw Dykes Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 I've been laughing like a maniac since full time. I think NP deserves a lot of credit for keeping a straight face during the post match interview. You can tell he is pissing himself laughing inside.
AmyLGK Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Basically this... http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/leicester/lcff/lcff_20140921-1700a.mp3
Beliall Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 Just got in. Went to the pub amd watched the game alone, but soon found many inside either wanting us to win because of ulloa or hating utd. Was a fantastic game and Im still buzzing. Absolutley fantastic. Well done to the boys we really deserved it.

foreverfan Posted 21 September 2014 Posted 21 September 2014 What a fantastic team performance. You can keep your £150 million pound team, you can't buy passion and team spirit. After being written off by so many before a ball had been kicked it's great to see us getting some credit finally. Loved being there and so proud of our lads
