HoustonFox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Yep, buckled under the pressure maybe due to a lack of premier league experience. Makes me laugh criticising Burnleys fans, they know they are up against a struggle and if we were in their shoes today we would be delighted. Worth being more humble this season as we are going to have days like today. Actually think we missed Hammond after he went off. Should have kept him on and James for Mahrez to match them 3 in the middle. People blaming Trippier injury are talking crap though, we weren't clinical enough by killing the game either by getting a third of just keeping it to run the clock out. That it what really cost us.
ScouseFox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 there's no point making excuses we were just crap all over the pitch. so were they. a championship game in the premier league and quite rightly neither team got three points.
MrAus Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Hammond the wrong type of midfielder for me today, would have prefered King or James. Hammond has been good against the big boys, who actually pose a constant threat, just don't think he's the type of midfielder we need against the smaller teams. Where's Albrighton???

Should have been Vardy off for James, put 5 across the Middle and hang on for the 3 points
ScouseFox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Actually think we missed Hammond after he went off. Should have kept him on and James for Mahrez to match them 3 in the middle. this properly shocked me. the whole ground could see their no. 37 had 20 yards of space every time they won the second ball (which was every time), yet we didn't try and stop it happening?

Tom17LCFC Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 dire, we should be picking up 3 points from games like this. end of the day we were fvcking dogshit. just like to add that burnley are the most embarrassing fans I've seen in years. 'no-one likes us, we don't care'?!?!?! really?! playing the victim as if everyone hates them.
Tom's Pasta Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 As bad as we were, I'd say we have to give a lot of credit to Burnley. They pressed us in the right areas and their link up play was quite useful at times, they got the point they wanted from the game and they deserved it. We should be more inventive to try and deal with these kinds of teams, the onus was on us to take the game to Burnley and we didn't do it today.
leicesterlad1989 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 We have been blessed with some great results and performances so far this season but it today we were dreadful from the first whistle. Neither team looked very good and at times it felt like a watching a league 1 game And even that's unkind on league 1 teams! We didnt deserve to win but neither did Burnley. Its a game we should have won and were 2 minutes away from winning. I just hope results of this kind wont come back to haunt us. Oh and Kasper was dreadful for both goals too. We were crying out for another body in midfield too. Everything Burnley did bypassed out centre mids!

Saying that, the arrogance of a fan running out and screaming in my face 'YESS' really made me want to him deck him. I hate that one fan.
Bllaaaameeeee Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Why play Hammond agenst a shite burnley side too negative . King or James should have started
HoustonFox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Should have been Vardy off for James, put 5 across the Middle and hang on for the 3 points Maybe but I think Mahrez was knackered. Way we were playing at 2-1 at half time and at home I would have expected to go for a third. Vards was our most dangerous attacker so would have kept him on. Nuge up top on his own wouldn't have done anything really, he needs a partner I think.
Raj Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 So he stayed down to buy extra injury time? I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you not think its a bit far fetched? You hope he's out for a long time? Classy.think your fans were great second half and you deserved a point in the end.We just didnt get going.Hope we aint still thinking about the man.u game and think we can just score whenever...reality check number 2!!!
ARM1968 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Last week and this are more a measure of how this season will pan out. We have to perform against sides like Palace and Burnley. We didn't.
The Doctor Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 So he stayed down to buy extra injury time? I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you not think its a bit far fetched? You hope he's out for a long time? Classy. Not really - defending a narrow lead and facing 7 minutes is a psychological kick in the face, likewise if you're chasing and you get a lot of time added on, mentally you get a second wind. He's clearly tried to play the ref there

I hate that one fan. they seem to think everyone does which really winds me up. that about sums them up from what i saw! saw a few trying to provoke a few leicester fans outside as well. as blackburnclaret said, classy bunch. ultimately they got their point, fair play to them, won't miss them next year though
RedSoxUK Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 All round good display, nothing special, but we did enough to warrant 3-points. Sucks dropping 2 points on a last minute free-kick, but that's football, it happens. Now's not the time to moan, because if that free-kick was skied and we had won, we wouldn't be so hasty towards the 11 today. DeLaet looked brilliant, Mahrez was above his own level, and Schlupp showed some great qualities today. Thought perhaps Ulloa could have done more - I think Wood could have been a better option as a replacement than Nugent, but doesn't really matter. 4-4-2 worked today, wingers both scored, assist from wings too, can't complain, this is 1 point we should have at the very least of taken today and we did. Good run out and display, onward and upward - just hope that loss of 2 points doesn't come back to bite us.
nickelbyfox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 If James or King had started for Hammond today I think we could have controlled the midfield and won this in a breeze - just my opinion but hope this spells a change when it comes to Hammond
Webbo Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Fair play to burnley, they earned their point. From where I was standing it looked like Schmichel was at fault for their first. Looked like he had two chances to claim the ball before they put it in. How did it look on telly?
kingfox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Only two positives for me today, and that's the performances of Schlupp & Mahrez. They drifted out the game in parts, but when on the ball & running at the opposition, they were complete menaces & caused Burnley problems. However the centre of midfield were too blame today for a huge part of it, Hammond & Drinkwater showed little conviction in midfield today. They were far too weak, got overrun & the amount of headers Hammond in particular lost today, by letting the ball drop or not jumping for it was beyond ridiculous. When on the ball Drinkwater did alright, but when off it he & Hammond's positioning were all wrong & they seemed scared to tackle, this against a side who had both their first choice central midfielders injured. Morgan & Moore looked solid in parts, but when Burnley played it up towards Jutkiewicz & Barnes with their back to goal, while they held the ball up caused Wes & Liam endless problems, they looked scared to get close in case they gave a needless free kick away, they stood off Jutkiewicz & Barnes too many times & let them get it down & play the ball to their midfielders, while I also thought the defensive line were far too deep, even though in De Laet's case he put in a decent performance. Finally we conceded sloppy goals, for the first Liam was beaten far too easily in the air & nobody was tracking Kightly. While Knockaert's defending for the second was embarrassing, failed to stop the cross ball was played in they got it on the edge of the box, and Matty James who was also at fault made a silly challenge. Kasper's positioning for the free kick was also fookin woeful. Poor result, need to be doing better, especially against a side with four regulars/key players out injured.
stevelcfc Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Why play Hammond agenst a shite burnley side too negative . King or James should have started So swap a defensive minded mid (deano) for a defensive minded mid (James). How does that make it more positive?
BlackburnClaret Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 No one cares about burnley, the biggest thing to happen to them is a reference on the inbetweeners movie. And being Champions twice, obviously.
smudger63 Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 So he stayed down to buy extra injury time? I'm not saying you're wrong, but do you not think its a bit far fetched? You hope he's out for a long time? Classy. He obviously wasn`t staying down to buy extra time, but to be honest i don`t know why he didn`t just roll off the pitch to get his treatment, and let the game carry on. I suppose he may have been thinking about Burnley having to play with 10 men while he was assessed, and subsequently subbed. Whatever, the truth is we have only our selves to blame for chucking 2 points away today, we just seemed lethargic and never really got going, against what was a very poor Burnley team on the day.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 And being Champions twice, obviously. Sorry, were you there?
ousefox Posted 4 October 2014 Posted 4 October 2014 Not really - defending a narrow lead and facing 7 minutes is a psychological kick in the face, likewise if you're chasing and you get a lot of time added on, mentally you get a second wind. Have you ever seen that happen before with a player wanting the 'pshycological boost' for the rest of his team!? What a bizarre comment.
