Leicester City v Burnley post match thread 2 - 2

I think getting wound up over the time wasted by Trippier's injury is a bit embarrassing to be honest. We were almost begging them to score.

That was piss poor in the 2nd half! no control in the middle of midfield.

Nigel keeps persisting with Hammond but he's not offering anything at the moment. Missed Cambiasso calmness today

Too many misplaced passes today aswell.

Actually too complacent in our play looked like we just wanted to sit back at times and invite pressure!

Nigel needs to remind some players that utd result was ages ago and doesnt make us unbeatable.

Man the over-reaction to this result really has depressed me an awful lot more than the game itself did. Yes we've drawn a game that was very winnable, and yes we didn't do enough in the second half to kill them and make sure we got three points. Is that really a huge disaster?

I get that it was a game that we'll feel we could have won, but we've shown enough already this season to suggest that we're moving in the right direction, so panicking over two relatively mediocre performances really doesn't seem necessary. Burnley are not like Derby were during their season in the Premier League, they have a fairly competent side who have already got points against Man United, Sunderland and Palace. It's not like Burnley are incapable of picking up points, and while I understand that it's one of the easier games on paper, I don't understand why people are so desperate to complain about this game, rather than looking at the season as a whole up to this point. We've picked up 9 points from the first 7 games, probably the toughest opening 7 games any side in the division have faced, and we're ninth. Today was disappointing, but we're all still incredibly happy with the start we've made surely?

I didn't think he'd start Cambiasso, but I'm disappointed that he wasn't on the bench. We'll never know for sure, but I think we'd have seen that out if we could have brought him on.

We were so naive. When you're holding a one goal lead going into injury time you need to keep the ball.

We had two corners in the 90th minute - most teams would keep it there and see out a bit of time with barely anyone in the box. We send up Wes and Liam and put it in the mixer. It wasn't needed, and we didn't keep the ball. Hopefully we'll learn from this.

It's a really disappointing result, but we're 9th. That's a good start.

Congratulations to Burnley on lifting themselves off of the foot of the table.

You need your head checking if you really think a player would waste time when they're losing.

Have you ever seen that happen before with a player wanting the 'pshycological boost' for the rest of his team!? What a bizarre comment.

Tosh - we were on the counter and they were down to 10, any player would try and stop that and gain an advantage like Trippier did.

It was watching 2 championship sides slug it out, poor quality in the second half, draw fair result.

Worrying signs for Leicester, allowing Burnley to dominate the second half, lots of positives for burnley

It seems a long time away until we can try and correct this aswell with a bastard international break. Think that is what's annoying me more than what happened today!

I ****ing hate international breaks.

The meltdown will be because you should never draw a match when you are 2-1 up after 95 minutes.

Very naive from Matty James but we weren't good enough. Fair play Burnley

I think your view that 'you should never draw a match when you're 2-1 up after 95 minutes' is very naive IMO

Hammond the wrong type of midfielder for me today, would have prefered King or James. Hammond has been good against the big boys, who actually pose a constant threat, just don't think he's the type of midfielder we need against the smaller teams.

Where's Albrighton???

I actually agree with this.

For me,Hammond is decent when we dont have much of the ball, because he will close down, put tackles in, and break up play, but when we have a lot of the ball, and we need a bit of creativity, Hammond is sadly lacking.

Hammonds weakness is when he has the ball, his passing is poor, and gives the ball away too much.

Funnily enough though, he may well have been the ideal player to bring on from the bench in the last 15 minutes today, alongside James and Drinkwater, to see the game out.

Anyway todays game is done, we just have to move on now.

A lot of self flagellation going on here. Saying Burnley deserved to win? Absolutely ludicrous, they worked hard but created nothing until a soft free kick at the end. Their entire attacking plan in the second half was to hammer it at Jukeshite and try to take advantage of the fact that the sun was low in the sky. We were a minute from winning, and only failed due to a bit of bad luck and a dodgy free kick.

General play was not up to the standard it could have been in the second half, which is a shame, but let's not get too carried away, we've basically been very unlucky today.

Why the fvck couldn't we just have seen the game out by playing it into the corners instead of trying to score on the counter when were 2-1 up in injury time.

Burnley's first goal was poor defence.Moore seemed out of synch with the rest of the defence, played the forward on.

Time for a serious look at the back 5.We have let in 12 goals in 7 games, only clean sheet at Stoke.

A draw after leading so long felt like a defeat. We were not good enough 2nd half.

Why are you all expecting a win against Burnley. This is the premier league you cannot expect a win against any team in the prem. We were too negative second half but we still created the better chances throughout.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO BLOW TEAMS AWAY AND HAVE A FULL 90 MINUTE PERFORMANCE. THATS VERY VERY RARE. PLEASE ALL LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS!!!!!!!

As soon as I saw the starting line-up I was concerned. I understand the change in system to 4-4-2 but some of the choices of personnel were shit, to be frank.

Firstly, Cambiasso not being in the squad. No idea what has happened but it needs to be resolved quickly.

Hammond has to make way. As much as he's done ok in the first few games he is just a crap footballer. He is way too slow on the ball and doesn't offer nearly enough protection to the back four. We have better players on the bench and I don't know why we've waited until his shit performances have cost us. We've waited too long and surely he won't play the next match.

Schlupp is another one - I don't think he was all that bad today but the fact remains he is a shit player and we shouldn't be playing him whilst better players aren't on the pitch. He cost us at Chelsea and he will cost us again, it's only a matter of time because he is a poor footballer. I really don't care if he scored just as I don't care that Mahrez scored, as he was one of the worst players on the pitch overall.

Let's be fair about Pearson's post match interview - Burnley are crap. We are better than Burnley. In fact, Burnley didn't even deserve anything from today. What happened today was; we gave them a point. We did not turn up for the second week running and did not take a team that was there for the taking.

Burnley will go down, and we will stay up. Which is why today's performance and result is so frustrating. Nigel needs to give them a kick up the arse because we have not played very well in the last two matches and we cannot be throwing points away.

Okay now that the dust has settled, I think we can say that currently our position is fairly decent and we would all have been very happy with the current points total and position at the start of the season at this point.

However, it is all about where we go from here and hopefully we can kick on but Pearson has made mistakes and he does need to get it right from now on. Need a result against Newcastle.

I personally think that Kasper and Moore need some time to calm down. Kasper is not in form after the injury. Moore is awful recently.

As for Konch and De Laet, okay, I have nothing to say.

Mahrez is brilliant today.

James...what did he do in the injury time? When I saw the goal, all I said was" Oh my God~".

Burnley are a Championship side. As in the team they have, without Ings, would be an average Championship team. Some of their players are not even good enough for the Championship (I'm looking at the ones they signed in the summer, mainly).

We are the better team, we have the better players, and the only reason we didn't win today is because we played well below our best.

They will be relegated without any question at all. We should expect to win because we are better than them.
