Mahrez is in a attacking role there so what does that have to do with defence That position is key, yes it requires attacking nous which Mahrez has more than anyone else in our squad... but how the game is, it requires the player to put a real shift in, not letting opposition pick the ball of their defences and play long balls down the channel It's that aspect which Nugent has excelled at since returning from injury and why, when he's played as the link between mid & att the all round play of the team has generally been of a higher tempo & better

Leaving basically 1 in midfield, We literally wouldn't touch the ball all game if that were the case. I'm not averse to Mahrez playing in the 10 role, but would have to sacrifice Kramaric to do that which is unlikely considering Nigel just shelled out 9 million for him.

Just been told that Aaron Lennon has informed Leicester he will not be joining them. Stoke had told me previously that Lennon was “possible rather than probable”. It would be a loan until the end of the season if it happens. Stoke seemed fairly relaxed about it. They would like to add Lennon but feel they’ve got a strong squad already and are comfortable in the table, so there is no great pressure to bring players in.
