I don't know his preferred position but he looked better in the middle IMO. He can pick out a pass better than he can beat a full back but he does look very talented. If he can spend the next few months putting a bit of bulk on he'll do very well because my only criticism yesterday was how easily he got brushed off the ball.

which would be riyadh's problem if he was brought into the hurly burly of the middle of the park. slight in build - i expect he'll stay out wide.

we are a small side physically - always so clear when we shake hands before a game. its like the U11's v U16's !!

I thought he had a decent game. Got stuck in quite well at times. No where near PL standard at the moment but the lad is young. Hope to see cameos off the bench for the next couple of games to see how he gets on.

Thought he did really well for a debut. Ok may have given it away a couple of times but so did others notebly Koch. However it was whilst trying to be creative unlike Knockheardt who for me didn't contribute much at all. Lawrence saw more ball than some so there was more likelihood of a mistake. Looks a great prospect to me.

He's clearly not a CM so judging him as one certainly isn't right, he showed the right attributes to be a good winger, good first touch, good dribbling and a decent delivery. Being out of position might explain the lightweight comments because he's not normally against a Sissokho shaped rightback.

Thought he did ok, even when he made a few mistakes, he still wanted the ball and kept his head up.

I don't think he's a walking pace midfield type of player which he was more or less asked to do yesterday, he's more of an up tempo type on the move player as his late surge when he tried to put Wood in showed.

He didn't look out of place, although obviously the opposition yesterday had no real desire or fight in them. Felt sorry for the 4300 fans who had to travel home having watched their team keep passing backwards when they were losing.

I am sure NP would have been very happy with him.

Funny how many experts we have based on a Stringer commentary

As if people are even giving an opinion on him after he played his first game for us out of position. Give the lad a chance!

Dont know what folk really expect of a young un.Thought he did really well as it was his first game this level.Like someone else said even when he fooked up he looked for the ball-never hid

Will only get better

I spoke to a few united fans who said that he was one of their most promising players and were outraged he was allowed to leave. Apparently he was the closest player they seen to Giggs come through their academy. He has got talent no doubt and I'm excited if we can keep him for the longer term because he will be quality

Just seen this on Rotherham's YouTube channel. The lad has clearly got skills, would definitely like to see more of him while Mahrez is away and Schlupp recovers from injury.

More like Mahrez than Schlupp, looks promising.

The 'too lightweight' comments make me laugh.

He was excellent during his month at rotherham, in a league much more physical than the premier league, and a league we all know well.

People said Mahrez was too lightweight, now look at him.....Algerian Messi.

"needs to bulk up, too lightweight" - is the cliched sort of shite that's seen grassroots football in this country fall behind a good dozen other nations

Spot on.

Whoever told you that was off their nut. Really nice player but more Chris Eagles than Ryan Giggs IMO, at least on the evidence of playing for United's underage teams. I'll admit I haven't seen much of his senior career so I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but I can't see him ever being more than an average Prem/top Champo player personally. He will definitely score goals if you put him up front (or as a wide forward) though.

Strange.

Remember reading on one of the forums that many were shocked he was allowed to leave.

He was starting games at the back of last season.

The defending at 56secs is terrible!!

It was probably Redcafe. The nutters on there think literally every youth team player who shows any skill is going to be world class, whilst simultaneously slating the youth graduates in the first team squad (who were much more impressive at the lower levels) for being shit.

Did well to get himself in the positions and seemed to find space quite easily, but also appeared a little naive on the ball and gave it away fairly regularly. Can't expect much more though from a 20 year old in his first PL appearance - he'll only get better from here onwards.

Played okay today, got himself in good areas but was quite wasteful. Not surprising as it is his first premier league game for us.

And to be fair it was a difficult game to shine in by the time he came on he majority of our players were behind him when he got the ball,

He looked forward at all times which looked good, would just put the wastefulness down to a mixture of youth and no options at that point of the game.
