Jakemoore Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Today highlighted to me just how desperately we need a new striker to take the pressure of Vardy and Mahrez! I know that's obvious to say but it is true. I'm not criticising anyone, I'm simply stating that there are better strikers out there than Leo, Andrei and Shinji.
bovril Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Some pretty strong opinions flying around. Think Scouse must have had a bad experience in Rijeka on his travels, ditto ImBlue in Osaka. Think I'll just sit on the fence so I'm never proved wrong like I have been with Pearson / Drinkwater / Pearson again / Vardy / Mahrez / Morgan. In all seriousness though we need a striker.
sdb Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Looked poor to me today but I do think he can become a real asset based on previous displays. Does need exposure to the league though and can understand why he's not had that. Needs to play in the cup vs Spurs and if he doesn't impress, hope he gets a loan move to another Prem side. Norwich or Bournemouth perhaps?
Frank to be Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Liverpool did incredibly well to miss that, five on one and no goalkeeper!
katieakita Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 he blocked the second one They only had 4 players offside ffs.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Liverpool did incredibly well to miss that, five on one and no goalkeeper! One of the worse misses I have ever seen...
Frank to be Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 They only had 4 players offside ffs. Good point, miles offside as well. The linesman missing that is almost as bad as them missing the chance
AjcW Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 No one is judging him on not scoring... Or at least I don't think so... I imagine that the most annoying thing was that 90% of his touches and passes ended up going to a pissing Liverpool player, when he wasn't being easily bullied off the ball that is. A year is long enough to bulk up and build strength for a professional sportsman... Who knows maybe that's the fitness teams problem, but the other players seem okay! Oh and before anyone says it, I never had these opinions about Vardy in the early days, he always tried, was strong etc etc, always looked like there was something there that would eventually click.... I don't mind making these comments about Krama because I really see nothing changing.
ScouseFox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 They only had 4 players offside ffs. i said this watching it at the time. amazing that nobody gave it offside and none of our defence even appealed for it despite, as you say, four of them being a combined distance of about 20 yards offside. Some pretty strong opinions flying around. In all seriousness though we need a striker. haha nah, i have nothing against kramaric it just pisses me off that people are trying to act like football geniuses claiming kramaric is the saviour. firstly, we are top of the league. we don't need saving. nothing is really going wrong. okazaki and ulloa have both played their parts in getting us TOP OF THE LEAGUE. i think they're doing enough of a good job based on that. however if they can be improved on then that would be fantastic. kramaric, though, is not that improvement based on anything we have ever seen. the kramaric off of youtube playing park football in croatia would be amazing, but it turns out if you put him on a pitch in a side like ours and ask him to score past goalkeepers who move he's just an alright player and definitely not the second coming of fat ronaldo like some people seem to be claiming. would be great if we could start him ten games in a row so he could finally start proving himself, but for now, in our most successful first half of a season ever with him basically not involved at all, i've got no complaints.
Babylon Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Okazaki looks like a competition winner, and if Kramaric cant get in ahead of him then he must be really shit. People accuse Kram of falling over and losing the ball. Thats exactly what Okazaki does. He's like bambi on ice, and he still got numerous starts under his belt. Leo is decent on his day. If Kramaric was starting games and performing like Okazaki does, there would a be a lot of people wanting him to get dropped. Kramaric might be totally shit for all I know, but I'd like him to get a run of games. Thats all Im saying. It doesn't have to mean he's shit, it can be that he doesn't fit into how Ranieri wants to play. Okazaki is played out of position because he's the best we've got for the defensive/distruptive 10 that Ranieri likes against your better teams. No he doesn't offer much attack wise in that position, but that for me isn't why Ranieri plays him there.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The pass is made from inside their half so not offside. The rebound header was offside though.
Brooksy Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Lino should be sacked for that, fcuking criminal officiating that is.
Jaspa Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The pass is made from inside their half so not offside. The rebound header was offside though. I thought that the receiver needed to be behind the line not one playing the ball
Babylon Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The pass is made from inside their half so not offside. The rebound header was offside though. It's if the player is in their half, not if the ball is passed from inside their half isn't it?
Jimmy Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The pass is made from inside their half so not offside. The rebound header was offside though. not true, offside is about where you are unless you are behind the ball you can be offside regardless of where the pass came from
EnglishOxide Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 haha nah, i have nothing against kramaric it just pisses me off that people are trying to act like football geniuses claiming kramaric is the saviour. firstly, we are top of the league. we don't need saving. nothing is really going wrong. okazaki and ulloa have both played their parts in getting us TOP OF THE LEAGUE. i think they're doing enough of a good job based on that. however if they can be improved on then that would be fantastic. kramaric, though, is not that improvement based on anything we have ever seen. the kramaric off of youtube playing park football in croatia would be amazing, but it turns out if you put him on a pitch in a side like ours and ask him to score past goalkeepers who move he's just an alright player and definitely not the second coming of fat ronaldo like some people seem to be claiming. would be great if we could start him ten games in a row so he could finally start proving himself, but for now, in our most successful first half of a season ever with him basically not involved at all, i've got no complaints. NOBODY IS SAYING HE IS THE SAVIOUR You have some weird irrational hatred of him. So he missed a couple of chances and chipped it into a keepers hands in his limited playing time... So what? It shows arrogance/confidence which is what you want from a striker. You'd be frigging yourself silly if they came off. He has also bagged a few goals and shown quality in the final third with the right service. I am genuinely confused at how you can have a go at people who just want to see him given a run. Nobody is saying he IS better than Ulloa or Okazaki. But Ulloa and Okazaki are quite clearly second choice strikers with weaknesses, that's why Claudio rotates them. You are talking like Kramaric is shit and it is fact. There is NOTHING to suggest Kramaric cannot do the same job Shinji does but better. Accusations of laziness are wide of the mark. Shinji is a workhorse, there are many strikers like him, he's nothing special or unique.
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 The pass is made from inside their half so not offside. The rebound header was offside though. It's the position of the player, not the passer that matters. If the recipient is in their own half its not offside, if they're ahead of the passer it doesn't matter where the passer is.
Carl the Llama Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Thank you to the 20 guys who pointed out my mistake. :xmastongue:
Soar Fox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 A player is in an offside position if he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent. So, if the goalkeeper is caught up the pitch, any attacker needs to make sure he's level with the second-to-last defender when the ball leaves the foot of his teammate. (Assuming of course that he's ahead of the ball. If he's behind the ball, it's fair.)
katieakita Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Thank you to the 20 guys who pointed out my mistake. :xmastongue: Think it happened so fast they actually missed it but as offsides go must be combined the worse non spot of all time.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 He's got more to offer than Ulloa, who was yet again ****ing garbage today.
Soar Fox Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 He's got more to offer than Ulloa, who was yet again ****ing garbage today. I like Ulloa and I thought he was brilliant last season. But he seems to be getting worse every time he comes on. Missing chances, giving pointless fouls away, not holding the ball up.
CharlieCharles Posted 26 December 2015 Posted 26 December 2015 Kram to start for me next game. Looked up for it today. He seems to be a confidence player, if he knocks 2-3 away i think he will become good.
