Carl the Llama Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 C'mon Huth, hand in that transfer request, you know you want to.
Foxymcoxy Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Watch out for Pulis and West Brom on this Yeah I thought about that as well. I'm pretty confident he'd pick us over WBA with the way he's been welcomed, the form he's found settling into the team straight away, the performances of the team. The atmosphere recently has surely got to play a part as well, would be hard not to love it as a player atm. But his history with Pulis is obviously going to come into it if WBA are interested. Hopefully he likes big Nige.
Finn Claw II Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Given Dawson was around £3.5m and a similar sort of age \ quality, I'd guess the fee would be around that.
Guest Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Given Dawson was around £3.5m and a similar sort of age \ quality, I'd guess the fee would be around that.  I'd pay that but I think with him being on the last year of his contract and settled here, we'll get him for less.
LCCFox96 Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Given Dawson was around £3.5m and a similar sort of age \ quality, I'd guess the fee would be around that.   A defender of his calibre and influence on the team is worth that price easily. We'd also get a good 2 years minimum out of him. If we can prise him away from Stoke for £3.5mil then we should be straight on to it in the Summer.
Bert Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 What a modest, generous man as well as the saviour of our season. We get it. Stop banging on about it.
Littletoe Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Personally, I would have this lad one of our top priorities for next season, he's been a beast in defence. Great addition to our squad.
Eastwellfox Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Great signing one of the best this season. Has improved Wes Morgans game too. We all rave about Esteban but RH has been immense for us. Worth 3 million of anybodys money.
davieG Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Robert Huth says he owes much to Leicester City this season, after the Foxes plucked him out of Stoke’s reserves for a loan move (Twitter-misdemeanour ban and all) and plonked him straight into their starting lineup. While the German centre-back may be extremely grateful for being handed the chance to play regular football again, it’s likely to be the King Power Stadium side that are indebted to Huth should his recent form drag them to Premier League survival. Since arriving at the Midlands club, the former Chelsea youth has played 90 minutes in 10 games. The club’s record in those outings reads: won six, drawn two, lost two with five clean sheets. The only teams to beat Leicester with Huth in the starting lineup, whether he lasted the full game or not, all come from the league’s current top six and the impressive resurgence up the standings is widely credited to the mountainous defender. Leicester forums are awash with pleas from the fans to sign the 30-year-old, who only has one more year left on his current Stoke deal, permanently. There is certainly a case for bringing the German in on a full-time basis should he continue to play a significant role in the club’s top-flight survival – bwin.com make it a 2/1 possibility that he makes the switch before 2nd September. The biggest change Huth has made to Nigel Pearson’s previously calamitous backline is organisation. Playing in the centre of a back three containing Marcin Wasilewski and West Morgan, Huth’s top-flight experience and ability to read the game has been crucial in helping the Foxes find perfectly-timed form. Rarely does a loanee make such a big impact when signed purely for the second half of the season. It is that instantaneous impression which makes Huth a candidate for a fictional Signing of the Season award. Unfortunately for Leicester fans, Huth is unsure where his future lies, telling the Leicester Mercury that any decision over where he plays next term lies with Stoke and that he will have to wait and see what they choose to do.
Smiffy Fox Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Was lucky enough to be in the Lineker suite for the game on Saturday, the match sponsors voted Huth man of the match and the 'Birch' brought him up to collect the award. The whole room started singing 'sign him up, sign him up'. He looked a little embarrassed. The Birch asked him what the chances of making it a permanent move in the summer were, and he basically said it's out of his hands.
MPH Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Look I'll wear a grass skirt, attach some tassles to my nipples and do some serious twerking if that would help raise the money to get him in....
cc_star Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 What a signing he'd be if we could get him.   Single handedly given us the platform for the rest of the team's attacking play to build on  Without him, we'd still be on the receiving end of playing well, but losing 2-1 to bad defended goals  Huth is the difference. PotS for me, even in the comparably short time  Thank goodness for #CONC
Monsell1976 Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Gotta think signing him is a massive possibility if we stay up. Can't think of anyone outside the bottom 8 or so wanting him, and we'd be able to match most for fees and wages, as well as the bonus of him having spent (and hopefully enjoyed) 5 months here playing well. As long as Stoke don't want him back he should be ours. Also I think he would be keen on us because he wouldn't have to re-locate, as Stoke is only an hour away, and easy to commute.
Bryn Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Think a bid goes in the second we're mathematically safe tbh. I wouldn't low ball, other clubs will be interested and the money is there. I'd go right in at £4m and get it done, does Stoke no harm to swell their coffers early in the summer.

You are spot on - pay the money immediately and get your man. Then you can move onto the next target and plan properly. Pussy foot around with low offers and we will be gazumped!
bovril Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 It depends on if we stay up. He'll be playing Premiership football next season for sure.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Huth has got to be careful what he says as he still is a Stoke player. I think he'd jump at the chance of joining us if we do the impossible. I reckon Stoke would sell with 1 year left as he doesn't particularly fit in there and £2-3m is better than him walking away in a year. Plus, he's having a blast with us and playing regularly.

I don't see him going back there and being first choice, they have a very settled side now and Hughes likely to buy again. We have to offer whatever we need to enable us to get him
fuchsntf Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 Next season, is next season.Great to keep him if we can, but lets not panic if he choses not to stay. We still need to re-shape, develope and re-build, that does not rely on one player. As fans we cant influence or even chose how our closed season will pan out. If our form holds, we just might interest quality players wanting to be associated with this club. Lets not go to extremes, suggesting certain players turning down a future in a city shirt, will weaken our chances.
Narborough_fox Posted 11 May 2015 Posted 11 May 2015 I was speaking to my teacher who is a Stoke fan and he said that Huth and Hughes had a disagreement a couple of seasons ago because Hughes decided to drop Huth because he wasn't a 'footballing centre back' hence why he bought in Muniesa. Said he thinks we'll sign him in the summer because he can't see him ever coming in for Shawcross to be the big, hard centre back in the Stoke defence.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 12 May 2015 Posted 12 May 2015 The way he makes forwards look completely average and nullifies their game despite not being blessed with place is incredible. Uses his brain and his strength to make sure he is rarely beaten. Brought Morgan and Wasyl to a new level playing with him too. Despite age being against them wouldn't mind that being our back 3 next year again.
