i suspect it's a christmas job. seen a replay and he knee buckles when the southampton lad skipped by him.

nasty one and we'll miss him unless danny plays as well as he has done recently.

If it's his knee then he's possibly finished. I know the fitness staff have been constantly monitoring him as they were concerned about his past injury. I fear the worst for him.

Looks like he's going to be one of them players, a serious injury is never too far away. Worst time to get injured ahead of pre-season too in terms of getting back fit.

... If it is indeed an anterior cruciate ligament then he's got a tough road ahead and at least 6 months for a small tear or 12 months for a torn and complicated injury, taking it easy and taking a good time to allow it to repair will be essential and not just for his football career ... I wish the lad well and hope it's just a small tear injury at worse

James Injury Update

Nigel Pearson says Leicester City must wait for the results of a scan to discover the full extent of an injury to Matty James, which he suffered in the 2-0 win over Southampton on Saturday.
The midfielder started the match alongside Esteban Cambiasso in midfield, but with the Foxes 1-0 up early in the match, appeared to catch his studs in the King Power Stadium turf before going down injured.

David Nugent returned from injury to come on as a second half substitute, but the manager revealed that he will also have to undergo a scan after picking up a knock late in the game.

He added: “We had to deal with a couple of injuries throughout the game. Matty James picked up what looks to be quite a serious knee injury then Nuge (David Nugent) going on as a sub and not being able to finish the game at full tilt.

“It potentially gives you a few problems. Credit to the players though, they dealt with what they had to today.

“[For Matty James] It really is a case of getting the scan done and taking it from there. It doesn’t look to be at all encouraging. It could be a serious knee injury, but we’ll wait and see what the scan tells us. With Nuge it’ll be a case of having a scan and seeing where we go.”

I really felt for Matty, currently recovering from an ACL injury myself and I can tell you it's a bitch, out for the long haul too. Pros have the best so recover much quicker but I did mine at the beginning of august last year and I'm on course to be back to football mid september

Think it's a given James will be out for the rest of the season but hopefully he'll be back for the start of next season. Gutted for the lad and hope it turns out better than everyone fears.

On the plus side, at least midweek Pearson said King was close to a return and should be available for the trip to Sunderland so at least we aren't too thin on the ground for the final two fixtures.

Stringer said he did both of he knees whilst at United, so could be a serious, serious injury. Potentially career threatening. Will force us to dip in the transfer market for a new midfielder at least over summer

He did manage a wave to the crowd. I don't think he would have done that if it was super serious for two reasons.

1. He'd have been too in shock if a potential career ender had happened.

2. He'd been In too much pain to worry about appreciating the crowds concern.

Ill put my neck on the line and say he'll be fully fit for August's opening fixture.
