Danizen Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 He's not mobile enough for the way we play. Also major concern re his knees He's not mobile enough for the way we play. Also major concern re his knees I think he'd be a great option if plan A isn't working. Albrighton is a fantastic crosser and Austin is not just a target man. He scores high quality goals. And he generally scores a lot. Also, his injury problems are not that bad. Look at his record does he miss so many games that a £4m outlay would represent a waste of money? I don't think he does.
Foxxed Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/35333790 Austin's gone! Oops beat to it. At least the forum will be free from 'sign austin' posts now
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Best thing about that news is that people can finally stop banging on about him in the transfer forum.
coolhandfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Great deal for the Saints, can't believe we weren't interest!
Buce Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 That's a good signing for Saints. I think he'll do well there if they can keep him fit.
Richmondfox Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 I can't believe he has gone for such a low price, QPR took the gamble hoping they would be higher in the league and he would resign. He has been out injured since Mid Dec and was also out injured for most of October. I wouldn't mind Shane Long but if Pelle goes they will need him.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Top signing for Southampton. Proven goalscorer at this level.

He was out in Oct and mid Dec to date, it depends if he is going to be the main striker or as back up? If the former then it is a big risk if the latter then it's still a risk if they don't think Long is up to it.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 4m that is brilliant business by Southampton, he will do very good there... he probably wouldn't have suited our style as much

Nick Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 COME ON SUNDERLAND. They've not scored or anything but if they could hold out for a draw at least that would be smashing!
crisp packet Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Austins from the south coast. Saints are the biggest team on that coast. Good move all round? Lads a crock...
orangecity23 Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Spurs dominating their way to another 0-1 defeat here. Still, dem possession stats, eh? Wow, my BT sport is slow. Standard Clattermole.
Nick Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 Van Aanholt..... never doubted the lad. Cattermole however....
Hammered Posted 16 January 2016 Posted 16 January 2016 COME ON SUNDERLAND. They've not scored or anything but if they could hold out for a draw at least that would be smashing! WHADDAYA MEAN THEY'VE NOT SCORED. Come on Sunderland 1 nil.
