orangecity23 Posted 30 May 2015 Posted 30 May 2015 Hope this is just agent talk to get Jeff a new contract. He's improved loads over the past two seasons, and it'll be good to continue to see him get better while wearing a Leicester shirt. Besides, it's not like Arsenal need him, they've got loads of talented young players already.

Came quicker than I thought though. Do the media not contemplate the counter productivity of us strengthening our LB options from one to two (assuming Konchesky leaves) and than allowing one of them to leave. Seems like we'd be undoing all our hard work in getting this deal done if we did.
Dan Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 He cannot go. He cracks me up and yet he's useful as well. That is a serious combination.
cc_star Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Wouldn't begrudge anyone a move to Arsenal, think they'd want to loan him out for as year though as he's still very rough for someone like them. Zaha was £15m from the Championship & while Schlupp's Championship record not as good as Zaha, (mainly because Schlupp was played all over the place & it's only now that he's come into his own), his Premier League performance of late have been much better.
Master Fox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Jeff is bloody fantastic. But if they're wanting to win the league they'll need someone better in front of goal than young Jeff.
Babylon Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 He won't be going anywhere, we needed another left sided player. The paper are putting 2 and 2 together.
VLC86 Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 If Jeff is leaving he hasn't put his house up for sale, I'm not a stalker, been looking at houses and saw his car parked on the driveway
Strokes Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 If Jeff is leaving he hasn't put his house up for sale, I'm not a stalker, been looking at houses and saw his car parked on the driveway If he parks his car like he plays football, there is every possibility that it's not his driveway.
Solihullfox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 If he parks his car like he plays football, there is every possibility that it's not his driveway. He might have taken the wrong car home as well....to the wrong house

mid devon loyal Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 he must learn to walk before he runs anywhere, and concerntrate and think during a game, and learn to keep his shots out of row z.im not sure heis the sort of player Arsenal want
sdb Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Schlupp is about 10% away from being an absolute world beater. Would hate to lose him.
gurru991 Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 He wouldn't make the bench for any of the top four teams, he'll get playing time here and possibly develop into a top level player.
Buce Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 If he parks his car like he plays football, there is every possibility that it's not his driveway.
ScouseFox Posted 3 June 2015 Posted 3 June 2015 Schlupp is about 10% away from being an absolute world beater. Would hate to lose him. whilst I think you're being a bit ott I get what you mean. even so, it's that 10% that turns you from a run of the mill premier league player into someone who'd actually get games playing in the champions league. he's still not there yet.
mid devon loyal Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 hope he gets that extra 10% in a Leicester shirt,my opinion is that 10%is instinctive and can,t be taught

artursteppe Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Just not sure why anyone thinks Jeff might go. Too many people assuming ( press mostly ) that Christian will only be used as a full back or wing back. I think Richie does very well in our back three when he plays there, he's got extra pace as well. Fuchs is 6'1", reasonable height, and a good quality footballer, who could probably play left side of a back three. Open your minds, feel the power, enjoy the flexibility, it just gives Nige options. Jeff left back or left wing back or left midfield. Christian left back or left wing back or left side defender in a back three. Marvelous.

A lot of Austrian/Schalke fans have came on and said that the defensive side of his game is poor and he's better offensively, so why would we put him in his weakest area of the pitch for the sake of playing him when we could play either him or Jeff and, you know, use substitutions? There's going to be games in which the contrasting styles are going to be useful to pick from so why not just swap them round when we feel necessary and swap it in the game if needed?

Thanks for the information. Captain of Austria who are top of their Euro qualifiers group, a full back who has played for a top Bundesliga team in the European cup,..............................and not a very good defender???????

artursteppe Posted 4 June 2015 Posted 4 June 2015 Top bundesliga team that haven't offered him a new contract. He had 25 starts for them last season, and how can you be sure he wasn't offered a new contract. More likely he told them he didn't want one so that he could negotiate a better deal for himself and play in the Premier League. He just could be a footballer who likes to have control over his own destiny,

They haven't said he isn't a "good defender" the general consensus is that he is more comfortable going forward than he is defensively. He's essentially a left footed Marc Albrighton. Albeit it better at dead ball situations. He's perfectly suited to wingback in a 3-5-2.
