If anyone has any other suggestions for headbutt recipients, let me know!

From what I'm reading nobody is really saying he's going to become our new manager but that he is coming to England proberbly in a coaching or technical role.

Maybe we have a manager in place and he wants the bloke as part of his team??? A replacement for shakey maybe who will probably move to whichever team Pearson ends up at anyway.

Despite rumours of a number of coaches possibly succeeding the controversial Nigel Pearson at Leicester, from Guus Hiddink to Esteban Cambiasso, a complete outsider has risen to become favourite virtually overnight.

Speculation increased further on Wednesday evening as ex-Everton wideman Predrag ‘Preki’ Radosavljevic revealed he had been offered a position at an unnamed British club.

Preki, 52, has left American third-tier team Sacramento Republic FC, where he will be replaced byPaul Buckle, to move to the UK, with odds of the Serb taking over at the King Power Stadium now as low as 1/2 with some bookmakers.

The news was broken on Sacramento’s website, where Preki expressed reluctance to leave but excitement at his new vacancy.

“Republic FC has been one of the best experiences in my entire career," he said. “This was not a decision I made lightly. The opportunity ahead is a lifetime dream for me and a chance to challenge myself at the highest level of the game.”

This comment alludes to his new job being in the Premier League, which would be a huge step up for the former America international, who is relatively unknown outside of the States. And there is only one job available in the Premier League at the moment.

However, there are suggestions that he could be joining the club in a strategic role, rather than as manager per se.

WHO IS PREKI?
  • Began his career with Red Star Belgrade, before playing for various American indoor football teams, such as San Jose Wizards.

  • Played for a season at both Everton and Portsmouth in the 1990s.

Acquired American citizenship, despite being born in Belgrade, and represented the USA at the 1998 World Cup, before being inducted to the American National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2010.

Joined Sacramento Republic in 2013, after unsuccessful spells coaching Chivas and Toronto in the MLS

Yep, the very same Adam Smith. Infact- I think I remember seeing Graham in the Thai Video?!

That is an image I wish I could un-see!

I initially thought that that was Alan Titchmarsh, looking at Preki...

Alan Titchmarsh would be an improvement

Imagine going from Shakey as No. 2 to a guy who's club wouldn't be a match for a conference side

I think you're all being very disrespectful here, this is a proud time for Preki and all you lot can do is poke fun and be abusive. Nobody puts Preki in the corner.

Let's be honest, how many of you would applaud (i.e. welcoming) Preki if he was introduced first game of season?

I'd probably expect a few applauds/cheers etc, but evenly with some boring/moaning.

Not at all, I've had a very enjoyable few hours laughing at you all, even more amusing than the last week has been.

Glad you've had a few hours of enjoyment, Bentley's roof is a laughing stock all the time not just for a few hours.

I'd be neutral, neither applause or boo.

Do we think anyone credible has applied for the job?

I'm surprised anyone knows there is a job available for all the rushing around and marketing/advertising the owners are clearly not doing.

It would be interesting to see what the general consensus would be on bentleys roof of Preki if he was appointed. They were desparate for Pearson to be sacked and then this hillman turns up instead. I hope it happens, it'd be piss funny.

We may be spared Preki !! Joceyln Gourvenne coming in at 10/1 4th fav on a number of sites.

Still 22's on Betfair and the only backer wants 50's.

Gourvenne is my out and out No1 choice but there's nothing indicating on Betfair that he has been sounded out. The bookies can make anyone as short as they like as they had Preki odds on but if the odds get hammered on Betfair you know there might be something in it.

Well they aren't advertising it on the website, this leads me to believe they already have their man!

If we get Gourvennec after all this I'll concede that maybe we're not ran by idiots

There have been plenty on here talking about the new golden era of European domination that our amazing, super-incredible perfect Thai owners are going to usher in now that they've got rid of pesky Pearson, who was - let's face it - totally holding us back.

There's going to be some seriously red faces if this nobody gets appointed.
