cc_star Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 The worst jobs are Villa, Sunderland, Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham... all have expectations way beyond their actual standing... so whatever you achieve there you get no credit They're not the only fans to have delusions of grandeur
chapero82 Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Given the names out there I'd be chuffed with this. the chants of 'Martin O'Neills blue and white army' will get the old spine tingling, for sure.unfortunately it's now blue and gold which does not have the same ring to it
FoxinNotts Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 I don't think Walsh and Shakespeare are inseperable, are they? I think Walsh needs to be retained. MON Woolford (ast manager) Walsh (ast man and for transfer identification) Philips + Guppy + Cambiasso (player/coach (if wanted) & captain)
st albans fox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 The big bets 4 figures have been placed in London today and last night. http://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/betting-suspended-as-martin-oneill-looks-poised-for-leicester-job-31366895.html A bookie doesn't have to accept a bet A grand placed in Dublin could attract a bit too much attention ?? There shouldn't be leaks but there always are

Clever Fox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Don't quite get the people saying he is a bad manager and past it. He had a not great spell at Sunderland and Ireland hasn't been great but both teams are hardly the easiest to get results from. Everywhere else he has been a great success. He had 80 wins to 50 losses as Aston Villa Manager and was only a fall out with owner that saw him leave there. He knows the club, has Prem experience and would suit our style. Still not my first choice but really don't get the strong opposition to him. While it's not the worst appointment we could make I don't think it would be a good move for the Club. Pearson has been taking us on a root and branch process into 21st centuary football. What does Mon know about modern tactics and formations. He didn't do Coaching when he was last hear so why do you think he's capable now. He's old School and the game has advanced so much in a few years. He's a man manager and motivator, that's it. He couldn't even come up with a tactical plan to beat Scotland and there no great shakes. Granted he does know the Premiership. I could only see it working if everyone one else got on with their jobs and he just looked after picking the Team.

There shouldn't be leaks but there always are a bookie has to accept a bet but the bookie picks the odds. you may see 8/1 but you want to stick a grand on he can (by their own rules) change to odds to whatever they wish to take the bet. they usually offer a split. for arguements sake £200 at 8/1 and the rest at 1/4 or whatever.

Guest Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Ian Stringer @StringerSport 16m16 minutes ago I have to say, of all the names linked with the #LCFC position so far, this 1 seems most likely #MONday hashtag credit @SharmoJourno This is a bloke who put a crap French impersonator on the radio remember thinking it was Knockaert ..take it with a small amount of seasoning
STUHILL Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 In his four years as Villa boss O’Neill, after securing an 11th position in his debut season, guided the Birmingham side to three successive sixth place finishes
The Doctor Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Christ, you go away for one morning and this happens. Can't see why he'd come back, sure he's always said never go back and he's got a legacy here, why risk it? Not to mention it looks like he's lost it a bit since Robertson retired. Would rather he stay as pleasant memories since I don't think he can emulate previous achievements
ramboacdc Posted 10 July 2015 Author Posted 10 July 2015 A bookie does not have to take any bet. only can refuse a bet if believe the person placing the bet is commiting crime (mostly money laundering) or if the result is already known.
l444ry Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Martin is still one of the best manager's out there. A class act! Can't believe some of the nonsense reasons I've just waded through for not taking him back. The man is a legend and will be a legend again if we are lucky enough to bring him home.
dylanlegend Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 It makes sense. He would have the respect of the players. Knows the PL and the majority of fans would welcome him with open arms (maybe a poll is needed?). Sign him up!!

Like most things, if you stay away for years, you will come back and it will be different. Plus he isn't as motivational and bouncy as he used to be is he? This has Kenny Dalgleash's last Liverpool stint written all over it.
Durnerz Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Backwards step written all over this.O'Neill was a god here when I was growing up supporting the club and left us with great memories. Not done a great deal since leaving us and certainly doesn't appear the messiah everyone has him down to be. This would be an appointment based entirely on sentiment.
cc_star Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Back to the future. Reincarnation. Is that a Thai theme? at this rate of going through ex-managers, I wonder who they'll appoint after Brian Little?

Foreverfox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 only can refuse a bet if believe the person placing the bet is commiting crime (mostly money laundering) or if the result is already known. Not true a bookie can refuse any bet for any reason or no reason in fact. A bet has no legally binding contract and no court of law can make a bookie pay any bet out.You have to goto the racing commission who will make a judgement. But there is certainly no legal standpoint to make any bookie take any bet.

This has Kenny Dalgleash's last Liverpool stint written all over it. This is the thing It was his unbridled enthusiasm that caught everyone up in it & everyone went on the journey together, going there again is a whole different ball game though I can't believe the blind optimism based on 20 years ago, when his most recent 5 years have been dogged by woeful tactics, piss poor man-motivation & negativity

Got villa in the top 6 for 3 consecutive years... look where they have been without him? Did well at Celtic, granted its difficult not to, And his only downside for me is sunderland and even then, had problems with the board.... I don't get all this negativity for O'Neill... where did it come from?
Aus Fox Posted 10 July 2015 Posted 10 July 2015 Odds on Di Matteo now falling. A question for the bookies out there, theoretically could I find out Di Matteo has been interviewed today, the place a large bet and circulate the information about another candidate in this case O'Neil as his odds come in and Di Matteo go out then place a huge bet on Di Matteo after manufacturering the odds a little?

Our last manager didn't have a clue about the premier league but he did alright. What is to suggest MON couldn't hack it? Hes not as motivational and as bouncy as he used to be? I mean WTF does this even mean? How do you know he isn't motivational? And how the hell does being bouncy on the touchline score you premiership points? I mean...come on!
