psychonaut Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 The secret Leicester fan talking us up again: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/08/14/paul-merson-worries-for-west-ham-predicts-leicester-to-pick-them/
Ian S Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 So because they beat Arsenal they are world beaters? Or maybe they just put in a good away performance on the day when the goalkeeper dropped two clangers. A draw at Arsenal would be an excellent result, a draw at West Ham, an average side, would be an ok result. These are the sorts of away games we would like to pick up some points from. We shouldn't be going there thinking we'd be lucky to get anything. If we feel great about a 0-0 at West Ham what would that say about the rest of our season? Yeh, it would suggest a season where we didn't have many good results. If we want to be a competitive side then 0-0 draws at average sides are not excellent results, they're ok results. Nothing like putting words in people's mouths. Never mentioned world beaters and never mentioned be lucky to get anything although history says we would. An away point following on from last week would be a good start to the season and quite why that would manifest itself into a season where we don't get many good results, only your logic can explain. These are the sort of away games we would like to pick points up from as you say,are you aware 0-0 actually gets us a point?
glen parva fox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Where's the Rachael Riley West Ham Picks, our good luck charm.
Grey Fox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 70th Anniversary of VJ day tomorrow. Ironic if Shinji gets our winner.
Culletonfox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 We are shit in London, i hope the ref doesn't decide this one! I'm going for a 1-2 away win with Mahrez double!! we are the new Southampton......
Richmondfox Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 We really need to keep Payet quiet, hopefully stick Kante on him and the wingbacks to create chances. I'm predicting a few nasty tackles on Mahrez.

These are the sort of away games we would like to pick points up from as you say,are you aware 0-0 actually gets us a point? Agreed. That doesn't make a 0-0 on it's own an excellent result though does it? I don't need to out words in your mouth, you used the word 'excellent' yourself, which suggests West Ham are much better than us and that we'd be pleasantly surprised to get a goalless draw. Which in turn suggests we don't expect to do well this season. You sound like Lawrenson: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33832171 This is a club who finished 2 places above us last season. It would hardly be a 'shock' to beat them. We're two competitive teams in this league who are both likely to finish lower midtable. We might lose, but there's a good chance we can win as well. Oh and the history of the fixture is totally meaningless, the result last season or from 15 years ago has no bearing on tomorrow's match whatsoever.
Rincewind Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 I'll be in the local pub tomorrow listening to the game. Hopefully I can get internet radio on my phone or tablet. I have an app installed on my phone. The landlord does not put the TV on much. He likes to keep the pub an old fashioned traditional pub. If West Ham had not won at Arsenal last week I would be more confident so a 1-1 draw will do.
deep blue Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 70th Anniversary of VJ day tomorrow. Ironic if Shinji gets our winner. Even more ironic if Vardy got it.
gerrytaggart Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Get your readies on a 3-2 Leicester win. Ive paid to have it fixed.
enmac Posted 14 August 2015 Posted 14 August 2015 Benalouane looks like a walking red-card from that U21 match. Would rather de Laet start in the back three, or Was.Agree about YB. Looks the opposite of cool, calm and collected. I'll give him the benefit-a lot has changed for him in the last week or so. Defo wouldn't play him.The point's been made that wham have played more competitive games than any other team in the PL. Plus it's Bilic's first PL home game. Sounds very tough to me If we get anything out of this, I'll be very confident for the rest of the season. 1-1 , hopefully- a late equaliser by Kram(sub).
Nalis Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Knees up Mafa Braaaaawn Kness up Mafa Braaaaawn Its time for our final trip to the Boleyn Ground to face top 4 chasing West Ham before their in no way illegitimate move to the Olympic Stadium next season. After finally getting rid on the awful Big Sam who turned a Championship side into an established Premier League team, Slaven Bilic is ready to take the Hammers to the next level this season. Just to be on the same pitch as West Ham and experience the world famous West Ham Way will be an honour today and one of those 'I was there' moments for the players.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Would go with the 3 at the back for this game I think, with Wasyl coming in for De Laet and maybe Kante for drinky.
NewquayFox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Fuchs in for Schlupp and Kante in for Okazaki for me today, Tinkerman will go for a strong midfield in away games I reckon.... Up the City......
fleckneymike Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 No wins in our last 20 top flight games in London.
Clever Fox Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 I do fancy us today. I think if we put in the type of high tempo game as last week they will crack. There's not many teams that can live with that type of high pressure football without conceding goals. We just have to make sure we don't concede any.
sulfoxide Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Ranieri hinting that we will go with the 3 centre backs. I can see Benalouane coming in for De Laet. Reneiri saying Benalouane isn't match fit yet.

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet today at all!.. We looked shaky at the back against Sunderland and conceded 2.. Think we'll need to score 3 today to win!
LcFc_Smiv Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Going with Mahrez today will effectively be playing with 10 men, these are a physical lot. Not right to drop him after 2 goals last week, but move Schlupp onto left wing and bring Fuchs in left back, and I feel like we will have half a chance of getting something at their place.

Yeah just drop our best player. Hope Claudio brings back the midfield diamond too
LCFC FOX Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Already arrived in London where is everyone drinking?
LcFc_Smiv Posted 15 August 2015 Posted 15 August 2015 Yeah just drop our best player. Hope Claudio brings back the midfield diamond too Not as simple as that is it, we have seen in the past how he varies from game to game, Sunderland stood off and gave him plenty of space. West Ham won last week by bullying Arsenal off the park, players who are similar to Mahrez. I'd be more concerned if Albrighton wasn't in the lineup, he proved last week that he is consistently influential.

West Ham dealt with arsenal because arsenal played with absolutely no width, not because they got the shit kicked out of them. Mahrez up against Tomkins is huge for us.
