Foxey id Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Vardy looked totally out of his depth tonight, not helped by the formation or pitch, but didnt do himself any favours there
AKCJ Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 fell asleep, i assume hodgson worked it out, played vardy down the middle and he scored a hatrick?
fuchsntf Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Ah well, NOW THEN !!!!! forget this thread, the real football starts again this weekend, Especially the Soton game, so put your energies now into our real livelyhoods..
filbertstreet Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 fell asleep, i assume hodgson worked it out, played vardy down the middle and he scored a hatrick? Only hat trick was Ian Wright
RedSoxUK Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Will be pretty pants if Vardy doesn't get any minutes vs actual capable opponents. We'll be better off playing counter attacking football at the Euros and in those friendlies where Vardy WOULD actually be of use, will be a massive kick in the groin if his few England caps are as a LW playing with 11 men behind the ball.
dylanlegend Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Vardy hasn't done himself any favours tonight. Just gives the doubters more ammunition to lay into him. He's definitely got the ability but on tonight's showing I don't know if he's got the mental strength to deal with the pressure of playing for England regularly.
stockyfox Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Disappointing but that's what football is all about. So I'll be happy to know that Jamie hasn't picked up any knocks or injuries and that he's fighting fit for us on Saturday. Now that's what I call an important game!
The Doctor Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 What was Benalouane's tweet about Said that England need Drinkwater. Bang on if you ask me - get him in for Hodgson.
Izzy Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Doubt he'll play again I think it all depends on his club form between now and the Euro finals squad being selected. If he keeps scoring for us and is still up there with the PL top scorers, it could be difficult for Woy to leave him out.
Collymore Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Doubt he'll play again At international level it's all about management not ability of the player. Roy won't doubt Vardy, only his inability to get him to function in the team.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Hi didn't look out of his depth, hes just not a fit for Englands boring and predicable approach to football. Vardys two best pieces of play tonight were based on probably the only two counter attacks that England produced in the first half. That is when its his game. Whether he gets a chance in France next summer is up in the air. But its a shame, as he will be much more effective against better sides where we don't have much of the ball and have to rely on quicker breaks.

Midweek away game in Eastern Europe hopefully the travelling won't take it out of him much. Along with all our other internationals

Livid Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 He's got to keep banging them in for us. Hodgson doesn't pick one of the leagues top scorers and they flop ( Which I expect regardless) and he'll be crucified.
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 He's got to keep banging them in for us. Hodgson doesn't pick one of the leagues top scorers and they flop ( Which I expect regardless) and he'll be crucified. Exactly this. Hope he gets back and continues to smash the league. Hodgson might actually then take notice of how good he is and give him a chance in the right position.
Mikey Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 He'd be so much more effective against the likes of France, Spain and Germany who are going to Dominate the ball and come at England. England aren't good enough to keep the ball against these teams and with players like Walcott, Sterling, Welbeck, Ox and Vardy it would be ridiculous not to take advantage of this. We're going to have to counter attack to get anything in this tournament but can't see Vardy getting ahead of some of those names when all fit.
Wymsey Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 Forgotten about Welbeck, but he's not been clinical enough to be one of the first choices. Sturridge and Kane for me. Rooney is better in a supporting role for the front two, as he's lost pace but still tricky on the ball and good awareness.

Along with all our other internationals Tired from travelling? They dont drive there you know. Few hours sat in first class on a plane is hardly fookin tiring. Back in my day we used to walk to away games, thought nowt of a 50 mile hike, game of footy, then a jog home. Tell the kids of today that, they wont believe you.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 October 2015 Posted 12 October 2015 You walked 50 miles to a football match, played the football matched then ran that double marathon home. Somehow I don't believe you.
