Corky Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Was expecting to post after a listless 2-0 defeat, what a remarkable last 20 minutes. First half was awful, worst we've played at home since Hull. Couldn't get going, gave them too much room and their goal was no shock. Started the second in a better fashion but their counter attack punished us, great goal though. However, heads didn't drop, lovely flick from De Laet to bring us back into it. Mahrez turned it on after that, great cross from Drinky and Vardy knocks it away. Momentum totally with us and an excellent third goal, classy chip from Mahrez and very brave header from Dyer. Unexpected win, superb fightback but also the first half needs to be improved upon. Morgan and Mahrez our two best players, thought Inler was off the pace, De Laet and Schlupp had tough games and Drinky took charge in the last 20. All the subs were useful. Wonderful start to the season and ever closer to survival.
jmono84 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Agree with comment bout game appearing different on tele... I watched the full game again and inker looked loads better than what I thought at the time... He gave a couple passes away but largely he was making good tackles and good passes!
Corky Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I quite like the fact we still boo Alan Hutton. Football fans with petty grievances are great
Larry_LCFC Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Hutton was awful when he came on. Spent more time on flat his backside
MC Prussian Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I quite like the fact we still boo Alan Hutton. Football fans with petty grievances are great And deservedly so. Hutton was awful when he came on. Spent more time on flat his backside Schlupp, Dyer and Vardy tore him several new ones, so that's understandable.
Guest Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I thought Inler did fine. He made a pass that Cambiasso would have drooled over out to the right wing.
The Doctor Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Hutton was awful when he came on. Spent more time on flat his backside Probably because he is awful. Long way down from being called the white Cafu by a few scots in 2007.
Father Ted Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Anybody else get a really nostalgic feeling when you see the name Dyer popping up?
jim5000 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Not sure if this has been posted, its from Football365. Shows Tim's epic tactical skills.... https://vine.co/v/eFDbXzt7wZJ
iancognito Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I quite like the fact we still boo Alan Hutton. Football fans with petty grievances are great I said when we signed Dyer I was looked forward to him ripping Hutton to shreds. It took 80 minutes but it was worth it
yorkie1999 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 What was the hold up on Dyers goal decision. At the time i thought the ref couldn't work out whether or not to give a peno and send the goalie off or just give the goal.
Matt Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 What was the hold up on Dyers goal decision. At the time i thought the ref couldn't work out whether or not to give a peno and send the goalie off or just give the goal. I think there was a suggestion it was offside (That's what Sky said in commentary when I watched it back when I got home), he was no where near offside! Anyone seen this? Sherwood disappearing on TV http://www.cbssports.com/general/eye-on-sports/25301759/watch-aston-villa-manager-tim-sherwood-disappears-on-live-tv Quite a few good clips come out yesterday, Jim going mad, Mahrez putting 3 Villa players on their arses and Sherwood disappearing.
Babylon Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 What was the hold up on Dyers goal decision. At the time i thought the ref couldn't work out whether or not to give a peno and send the goalie off or just give the goal. There was no hold up. It was given, it just wasn't massively clear due to the concern over Dyer. The players knew (hence Villa plodding back to half way) and the linesman took up his normal kick off position pretty quickly.
Mike Oxlong Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Love the desire shown by the whole team but particularly by Vardy in getting to Drinkwater's cross for the equaliser. Made their defenders look like they were walking.
BoyJones Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 I can't understand why people didnt realise it was a goal. After a passage of play the ball ends up in the net, the ref has not blown his whistle for any infringement, the linesman hadn't signalled for any misdemeanor. The only foul was committed by their goalkeeper. We were in SK2 and all around me were up cheering. Obviously the injury cut short the celebrations for a short while, but if the lino and opposition are going back to the centre circle / line, a bit of a giveaway.
Tielemans63 Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Watched the game when I got home and nearly pissed myself when I saw this....what the **** is he doing?
mundella boy Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Well done guys.Great game .Did not get home from the pub till late, going to work this morning was not good
Wymsey Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Sherwood would be good at managing an orchestra.
HighPeakFox Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Sherwood would be good at managing an orchestra. I can assure you that he wouldn't
Bayfox Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Well done guys.Great game .Did not get home from the pub till late, going to work this morning was not good You and me both mate. Spent 4 hours celebrating after. No idea how many Amstel I sank yesterday but I was an hour late getting work.
st albans fox Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Villa showed huge naivity after our equaliser (or was it the first goal). Kasabian was still playing when they kicked off. we put the ball back on the centre spot but they should have taken their time about restarting the game. Really confused me at the time.
The Doctor Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Watched the game when I got home and nearly pissed myself when I saw this....what the **** is he doing? Looks like he's trying to do the macarena but has forgotten all the motions.
Micky Posted 14 September 2015 Posted 14 September 2015 Anyone notice the really nice embrace between Ranieri and Steve Walsh at the final whistle?
yorkie1999 Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 Watched the game when I got home and nearly pissed myself when I saw this....what the **** is he doing? I think he was practicing this for our owners chopper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCIJkT-MgaA
Guest Cujek Posted 15 September 2015 Posted 15 September 2015 Was sat in a bar in rhodes, city top on, got them to put it on the big screen, afterwards sat with some schalke fans as they beat mainz, asked them to leave our targets alone. Great day, great win.
