GaelicFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 It's when Kami said "your lads a big boy now ....." I nearly choked laughing
Kinowe Soorie Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Your ex out with a Thai ladyboy? Good one!
LanguedocFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Will Goals on Sunday be on YouTube ? Haven't got Sky any more. On the "Ranieri is sh!te!" issue, I didn't post it on here, but when he was appointed I thought he would be a disaster. I half-expected him to bring in a bunch of expensive but second-rate players (as Sven did) and to get rid of the individualists (like Vardy and Mahrez) who were/are typical Pearson players. Which shows two things. First off, don't post half-ar$ed opinions if you know fvck-all about football management, and secondly, I know fvck-all about football management. Mind you, I still think he needs to make a few changes to the starting line-up. Will Goals on Sunday be on YouTube ? Haven't got Sky any more. You know fvck all about football management Glad we agree about something, then.
LanguedocFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 That rekindled a bit of my old affection. Such a shame. Me too. He is a top bloke
lgfualol Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 'It's been a difficult summer for the family'. Says a lot, that. I really would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in the house when it all kicked off. I'm guessing not one family member got away without a headbutt.
Corky Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Ranieri hasn't arrived and ripped the place up in the way Taylor did. Taylor ousted big figures like Cottee and Walsh, then Collymore left in rough circumstances. We also lost Lennon who was absolutely crucial to the team ticking over. We still have the same captain, the same keeper, same main striker, the centre backs and wingers remain, a few squad players have moved on. The biggest loss is Cambiasso but there were no guarantees he would stay if the manager had. Ranieri had a tough job coming in when he did and he's been fine so far. You really can't argue with 12 points and 13 goals from six games whoever the manager is.
Wymsey Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Going to appear daft here, but how much contribution has Ranieri actually inputted into our current form? It largely appears we're playing exactly like Pearson's PL debut season. The main big point, thus far, with Ranieri is that he's a experienced PR man - willing to answer media questions professionally and has no ego that suggests it's a matter of time before he says something stupid (unlike Pearson, who wanted to speak his mind without giving a damn how he's coming across as).

Ranieri has given the side more individualism and a bit more creative freedom, Mahrez is having (so far) an incredible season because CR has unleashed him from his team duties a little bit, whereas Pearson instilled a greater sense of togetherness which perhaps restricted Riyad slightly. Besides, Ranieri has adopted a 442 and although Pearson used it - it was largely ineffective. Additionally, Ranieri's ability to change a game is far greater whilst Pearson's subs were usually shit. However, Pearson brought a counter attacking style and more importantly he bought players with the right mentality, the hunger, desire and togetherness of this squad will be Pearson's legacy and there's no doubting Claudio is benefitting from that.

Wookie said it all very well. Also for 3/4 of last season we struggled to score goals (apart from Man Utd obviously).
Vindaloo FOX Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 love the man to bits , he took us up and kept us up !! all respect to him. good luck to you NP .
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I for one do not understand when people say the team and the tatics are Pearson's. None of us know how Almighty Pearson would have started this season. Going on previous history I for one are not sure we would be playing has well. I haven't forgot for most of the season, Pearson was the ultimate "Tinkerman". Often playing guys out of position and crazy substitutions. When we played OK the very next game he would change formations. Then it was " fine margins". Only at the end of the season when all else had failed did he obviously pull his finger out and for one let Albrighton play and the others. He just let them have a go which we were all screaming for him to do all season long. I honestly don't think people are being fair to our current manager. Pearson helped this club tremendously. For sure. But I for one see us playing a type of controlled football already that is just not Hoofball. How many times last season did Krammy. Leo etc just run all around with no service to them. Long ball up to the center backs and then back under pressure. Again Pearson was good for this club while we were in the lower divisions but definitely doesn't have the ability or can handle the pressure for the Premier League. I wish him well wherever he goes and I know he will be successful in the lower leagues, but not in the Premiership. Actually think he would be a better Director of football or something in that realm. Definitely can build a team. Time to move on with our new manager. But keep the fond memories of Pearson, MON etc. Today is a new era at Leicester and again we do not know what and how Pearson would have started this season. All we know is what we know now. Fourth in the league and unbeaten.

People forgot the league is played over 38 GAMES. Personally I thought last season was one of the best as a Leicester fan (good and bad times) and NP was a massive part of that. Give the man some respect.

Spot on. Good post.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Still don't believe Pearson can handle the pressure or is able to change his tatics effectively during a game. Proved time and time again last season Again with him we do not know how he would have started this season. Show Ranieri some respect. "Pearson doesn't have the ability for the premier league". LCFCSOULBOY Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Spot on. Good post.. Ranieri been here a week with a couple of weeks in the market. Pearson was here a lifetime in football terms and had his chances in the market. Made some great buys but others not so sure.
filbertstreet Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 Sick of this Pearson v Ranieri argument, there's one thing everyone can agree on and that's Preki is miles better than both of them
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 20 September 2015 Posted 20 September 2015 I thought he came across very well. He's a difficult man at times in front of the cameras and I think it's a shame he doesn't let some of the behind-the-scenes-sparkle (for want of a better phrase) to shine through. In a hundred years time, people will look back at his stats and achievements and say: "He was a very good manager for the club."

Countryfox Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 Come on, we all know Cambiasso ran the show at the end. Nigel deserves no credit. Almost spot on ..... (As I heard it secondhand from a senior LCFC source) ... And didn't go unnoticed by those above
Fox92 Posted 21 September 2015 Posted 21 September 2015 . Ranieri been here a week with a couple of weeks in the market . Pearson was here a lifetime in football terms and had his chances in the market. Made some great buys but others not so sure. This also applies to every other manager in football. On one hand you've got Van Nistelrooy, on the other you've got Obertan. On one hand you've got Bergkamp, on the other you've got Cygan etc...
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 22 September 2015 Posted 22 September 2015 Ranieri has given the side more individualism and a bit more creative freedom, Mahrez is having (so far) an incredible season because CR has unleashed him from his team duties a little bit, whereas Pearson instilled a greater sense of togetherness which perhaps restricted Riyad slightly. I'm not quite sure how Mahrez playing on the right of a 4-4-2 constitutes "unleashing him from his team duties" more than him having a free role in the 3-5-2 we were playing under Pearson but I suppose if it fits the narrative...
