Kitchandro Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Much improved second half thankfully. Let's hope we give ourselves a chance from the start next week by playing Kante (brilliant) in the centre. Playing 3 at the back is also an absolute must - De Laet and Schlupp (especially him today) are horrific defensively. Does Schlupp not understand that if a player has the ball on his left hand side then he needs to go towards them? If not then make sure he's doing almost all his work at the other end. I have to say though, even in the second half this was a match that we never played with our heads. We were shockingly wasteful in possession - picking Hollywood balls (Drinky a particular culprit) rather than being sensible and sticking to the pace based game we're good at. At 2-2, we tried to force it. You don't always need to try the killer ball. Yet with 15 minutes to go we dropped off. Two extremes when what we should have been doing was keeping the pressure on with short passes and movement off the ball. I think the players showed a lack of experience in that respect. A good result and another great comeback. I just think the last two matches we've made things extremely difficult for ourselves.
ealingfox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Would have taken a point but we could easily be winning these games by being competent for a larger part of it. Stoke are muck. Inler and De Laet are doggo.
Happy Fox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Such a beautiful sight seeing us in the Top 2 long may it continue. Hope Man City thrash West Ham.
indierich06 Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 The thing that's starting to annoy me is that Ranieri clearly isn't picking the right starting lineups in order to fit Inler into the side. He's clearly not up to the required standard yet and we can't afford the luxury of having him in the side - these comebacks aren't going to happen every week.
AjcW Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Can we just have a shout out for Ulloa too please. I know he didn't score or directly assist but I think against villa and now today he just made a massive difference and occupied defenders allowing Jamie to run around
RedSoxUK Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I don't really give a shit about keeping clean sheets, it's something for the Man City's and Arsenals to jizz over, ascerting their dominance over us low life teams. That being said, It doesn't matter how many goals you conceed, as long as you conceed. I wouldn't be happy if we kept clean sheets and drew games 0 - 0, so this is exciting football at it's best. That being said we conceeded far too easily again, RDL was turned simply, and Morgan was never in control of the ball when he ****ed up - seen it too many times. Stoke never really showed signs of their two goal advantage really, only a few minutes after they scored the 1st and 2nd when we were defensively shaky, but there's nobody on their team I'd really say stood out for them except Arnatuavic and Bojan. Kante looked an absoluite world beater yet again, and is proving to be our best bit of business for quite some time. Well done Kante / Huth / RDL in the 2nd half, and Drinkwater's control.
NewquayFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Stoke did their homework on us (especially Mahrez) two avoidable goals for them in my opinion but again Ranieri showed his class with the changes and a draw was a fantastic result... Vardys goal was a cracker by the way.. Up the City...
Adster Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Good result in the end but we really need to start scoring first. We won't always be able to come from behind and our defending is relegation form as it stands. Kante outstanding, it's incredibly how good he is at tackling. Good point today though considering. Well played boys.
st albans fox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Next week is a conundrum. Surely need 5 in midfield against the arse. Can only do that with a three man defence. But CR won't do that.
seenitall Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Well I'm happy - brilliant that we expect to win every game. We seem to now think that every Premier League team has no right to score against us - delusions of grandeur? Bring it on
TheUltimateWinner Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Next week is a conundrum. Surely need 5 in midfield against the arse. Can only do that with a three man defence. But CR won't do that. Drinkwater Kante King Mahrez (AM) Albrighton (AM) Vardy
GLC Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Team for Arsenal Kasper De Laet Huth Morgan Schlupp Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Albirghton Okazaki Vardy Inler was poor again and we played better with Albrighton in the team
ScouseFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 for everyone saying ranieri's subs are masterstrokes, imagine the scenes if he just decided to set us up to win from minute 0. we'd probs have a better record than man city.
RedSoxUK Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 I'd switch it around for Arsenal - but we'll be more than capable at getting at them.
bovril Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Again we looked better when Albrighton came on and inler went off. CR needs to get the team right from the start next week. Maybe then we will get that clean sheet he keeps banging on about. Quit tinkering with a side that is playing well. Albrighton and schlupp as wing backs, Huth, wes, wasyl at the back, Kante, drinky king with vardes and okazaki up top. Winning formula. Play it! He has hardly 'tinkered' and it hasn't cost us any points. In fact it's won more than we would have had. The reason we haven't won 6 out of 6 is the back four.
Babylon Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Inler and Okazaki out, Leo and Alrbighton in.
EnderbyFox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Thought the defense improved a lot in the second half - especially De Laet & Wes. Kante is fantastic. Has to start alongside Drinkwater against Arsenal. Would also consider dropping Okazaki for Ulloa
foxinsox Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Put a few quid on at half time on the draw at 15/2. Nice one. Foxes never quit! Inler is class, but not up to speed. I worry about the Mahrez and De Laet combination on the Right and Schlupp as fullback. Some useful lessons learnt. Lets see how the reserves do against West Ham. I want to win a cup. Just loving the tinkerman! Those half time talks must be great, and subs spot on. A long time since we had such an astute tactician as manager.
RedSoxUK Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 for everyone saying ranieri's subs are masterstrokes, imagine the scenes if he just decided to set us up to win from minute 0. we'd probs have a better record than man city. I think part of the difference this season has been the lack of consistency - as a positive, yeah. You can't use up all your energy inside the first 15 minutes, but you can get at them. We were by far the better team and on top before Stoke scored, just a kick in the backside. I don't want to see us catering for opposions as we hid under Pearson pre-run. I want to see an interchanging Leicester side, setup for our own positives in every setup, in every position. Playing poor, or being under threat of losing a game can be the pushing factor in achieveing points at the end of the day.
Ozwin Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Inler and Okazaki out, Leo and Alrbighton in. Agreed. We'll be chasing shadows against Arsenal so having an outlet in Ulloa seems sensible to me.
sdb Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Team for Arsenal Kasper De Laet Huth Morgan Schlupp Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Albirghton Okazaki Vardy Inler was poor again and we played better with Albrighton in the team Dyer or Ulloa for Okazaki for me
Gary Eatfood Posted 19 September 2015 Posted 19 September 2015 Again we looked better when Albrighton came on and inler went off. CR needs to get the team right from the start next week. Albrighton and schlupp as wing backs, Huth, wes, wasyl at the back, Kante, drinky king with vardes and okazaki up top. Winning formula. Play it! So you'd leave out our top goalscorer and most potent creative force?? Weird...
