There's still one crazy stat I can't get my head round, but it's the most important one.

We're Champions of England!!!!

Posted

Although we can't break the record, here's another elite group we could still join - teams who have won the premier league by 10pts or more

18pts, Man Utd 99/00

12pts, Chelsea 04/05

11pts, Arsenal 03/04 & Man Utd 12/13

10pts, Man Utd 92/93 & 00/01

Potentially, we may not only have won the premier league, but if spurs lose two and we beat Chelsea, we'll have won it by the 2nd biggest margin in premier league history

For that to happen Arsenal need to drop 3 points as they have 2 games left and could close gap to 10 points

Anyone know how many weeks we have been top to the league this season?

Believe Gary mentioned on Match of the Day we'd been top for 139 days (yesterday)... which compared to being bottom for 140 days last season.

A few random stats from this weekend:

1) Andy King moved into the top 20 on our all-time goalscorers list.

2) Jamie Vardy equals the post war record for goals in a top flight league season - 24 (equal with Lineker 1984/85)

3) Our all time goal difference, from the 19th Century to the present day, is now +1. Positive for the first time in decades.

4) Oh - we're ten points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Does 'days at the top' of Premier League count throughout summer or, if we won our first game next season and finished top after the first round, does it resume from then?

Not a stat, but a possible fact.

With the rebranding is this the last time that Premier League trophy will be used. It's got the old style lion on it and Barclays etched in massive letters into it.

The bottom of the trophy (where all the clubs names are) will stay the same, and the top part (what wes lifted) will change. I'm sure this has been done before as well.

League One gap was seven points. Championship was nine. Remarkably, the biggest gap to second could be in the Premier League.

True champions.

No. It'll be sent to a silversmith to be rebranded as it has been previously when there have been sponsorship changes.

But it's not just the sponsor, the lion has changed. The ones on top of the handles are the old style.

Am I right in saying we have won every last game of every season since we won League One?

Andy King has helped to make Leicester City kings of English football at the King Power Stadium in a city notable for King Richard III’s recent re-burial. In fact Leicester are the eternal kings. During their history they have had ten Kings (Andy, Craig, Teddy, George, Harry, Jack, Ian, Johnny, Rab and Willie): that is twice as many Kings as any of the other 91 league teams have fielded during their league existence (Swansea City, Hull City and Notts County are all on five). And what would people have said last summer: “Leicester champions? You must be jo-king.”

When Jamie Vardy hit Leicester’s opener against Everton on Saturday, Leicester had scored 6,824 goals and conceded 6,824 goals in their league history (it is now 6,826 scored, 6,825 conceded).

Two years ago we were celebrating promotion to the PL, having seen 'our' team absolutely dominate the Championship.

That season, Leicester achieved 102 points from 46 games......at CHAMPIONSHIP level....

The last 46 games played have again seen us earn 102pts ,, but at PREMIER LEAGUE level..

A totally remarkable, unbelievable 12-13 months !!!!

My son is 11 and only really got the passion for footie three years ago. Since then, he's lived and breathed a promotion, the great escape and now winning the PL. I've tried to explain to him that supporting Leicester isn't normally like this!!!

So Andy King got out record in to the positive after years, decades! The man can do no wrong.

Let's not forget that for a while we were known as the Ice Kings, too, and we also play at/are sponsored by KING Power.

The KING Power Stadium in the United KING-dom and our owners were bestowed an honour by the KING of Thailand

Not crazy but that was Vardy's 50th goal for Leicester today.

He's got 49. The missed penalty would have been his 50th.

Hope he gets a hat trick at Chelsea to win the golden boot, and goal of the season v Liverpool.
