He only takes them when Maddison is not playing so not many and Maddisons have been poor most of the season or have certainly like his indirect free kicks not led to many real chances. It's an area, from memory that we've been particularly poor at.

The whole "chances created" is a bit of a tenuous stat because there's no detail on how good the 'chance' was. Is lobbing a corner/free kick into the penalty area where it's immediately headed clear by a defender a chance? Is a 'through ball' to a player but misses him a 'chance'? I'd like to know their definition of chances created.

Any pass that directly leads to a shot/attempt on goal. Anything immediately cleared wouldn’t count.

They're genuinely not though.

We scored at Chelsea from a corner. And somewhere else but can't think.

We don't take advantage as we should.

I think we're okay at defending them.

edit: Just seen the pic above. 5 goals we've scored from them all season. I wouldn't call that good. It's okay. I'd like to see 7+. After all, it's a 38 game season.

Following on from a previous stat in this thread.

We have now finished in every position in the top flight from top to bottom. 5th was the last in the set.

So another record broken? Great stuff.

Yay? :D

Maybe Brendan knew this, and had to make sure...

Maybe Premier-league teams are just better at defending set-pieces, making them not as easy to convert as you'd expect? :dunno:

Shows how poor Youri is at corners. Barely any of them make it past the first man.

Or or the fact that he only takes corners when Maddison isn't on the pitch

That’s a great stat. Do you know if any other club have managed to do this?

It was mentioned on Football365 that Conor Coady had fewer shots at goal than Kasper Schmeichel this season. When was Schmeichel's? I really can't remember it.

Utd away? Or was that 18/19 season?

Not checked this but

3 of our 4 worst results this season (liverpool, man city & bournemouth) all changed after conceding penalties, and the other (spurs) following an own goal.

Makes it seem even more like a bottle job?

Not quite what this thread was intended for but the nice people at NowTV have just sent me a statistical breakdown of my football viewing this season. This includes watching 67 games and 200 goals my two most viewed teams were 1st Leicester, and 2nd Manure (who I hate) That put me in the top 4% in the amount of football I've watched. If I add in games on BT, BBC and others my total of games is around 91 if each game is approx 2 hours of viewing that is 182 hours or over a week of non stop viewing. I am sure that we must have some hard-core fans that will blow this out of the water.

What a shame we didn't win the league or FA Cup in the 60s under Gillies.

Great post though btw, I was interested to see the years.

We just let ourselves down at times, even when somewhat in control we seem to concede a stupid needless penalty. Better concentration needed at the back.

3 recent ones, the Everton Peno, Bournemouth and Man U was down to just ridiculous errors and lack of focus

I'd be interested to know how many were Ndidi, cos I think it's 5, half of them.

I'm not knocking Wilf, I'd rather have him than not, but he does seem maybe not to have awareness of being in the box, don't do anything too risky.

Wanted to see how many penalties we had got and found this comparison of last season to this season Makes some interesting reading, we conceded more penalties then the top 4 teams combined this season, Liverpool have conceded a total of 2 penalties in last 2 seasons combined 0020D0AE-379A-4DB8-B9F1-B65E0472C74A.thumb.jpeg.7fcfbc8499668c94f5dc9092eb23b10f.jpeg5A586646-BEB3-4795-8CDA-5FC465B6582B.thumb.jpeg.4923f1b607853fbc6e95783c6a1e8d79.jpeg
