coalvillefox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Kasper has taken a lot of flack this season, some justified and some not. I know he hates being compared to his dad but Alex Ferguson used to say that Peter was worth 10-15 points per season in his title winning teams. Did we see a glimpse of that tonight from Kasper? Playing a top side, couple of crucial saves, one in particular from Sterling that he just got round the post most likely won us a point just like his old man did. Anyone agree or disagree?
Larry_LCFC Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 He frustrates the hell out of me. He does some brilliant stuff a lot of the time, but then also makes some really, really poor decisions which leads to goals. I don't think he always commands the box and takes decisive action at set pieces like he should do. The amount of time he tries to be superman and misses completely. He needs to refine his game, but hes not a bad keeper at all.
Webbo Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 tbf they were saves you'd expect him to make but he didn't let us down.
Raj Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 And a few weeks ago idiots on here were hammering him!!! Only on foxestalk!!!
GaelicFox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 And a few weeks ago idiots on here were hammering him!!! Only on foxestalk!!! World capital for over reaction and moaning
benpicko Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 And a few weeks ago idiots on here were hammering him!!! Only on foxestalk!!! Yeah weird they'd hammer him for being shit a few weeks ago rather than predict he'd have a good match against Man City and congratulate him
BenKimbo Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Seemed better at coming off his line imo. Made a couple of good reaction saves.
AKCJ Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Been reasonably poor recently but was solid. Distribution improved ten fold.
Stevosevic Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 One of his best performances in a Leicester shirt tonight.
coalvillefox Posted 29 December 2015 Author Posted 29 December 2015 His kicking is often slated as well but I don't know a keeper in the league who can kick it as far as his and you could see his quick kicks over the top had the Man City defence panicking briefly, I know they rarely produce any results but it fits in with our counter attacking style so we just have to accept that fact that 19 out of 20 long balls will end up coming back and one might result in a chance of a goal.
ajthefox Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Did everything he had to and credit to him for that. Would've been disappointed if any of the shots he saved had beaten him though.
NoFuchsGiven Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Was excellent tonight, still unsure of his distribution often kicks it aimlessly
Raj Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Hes saved us more times than cost us points over the years.
Raj Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 World capital for over reaction and moaningToo right it is..are people calling for Vardys head yet!!!?
Mrfox452 Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 His shot stopping ability has never been in question. If he could start dealing crosses then there would be no issues with Kasper. No denying he had a good game today.
Kitchandro Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Can't fault him tonight, however, what you need a consistently solid keeper. That's more important than pulling of world class saves now and again, which he is certainly capable of. He needs to be better dealing with crosses, his decision making in terms of when to come out an when to stay lets him down. He definitely earned a point for us tonight with a couple of saves and that's what he is good at.
Nod.E Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 The poor distribution thing is a total myth. If what you'd prefer is a keeper to aimlessly strike a ball up field and make half way consistently, you could take your pick from the semi-professional game. Kasper picks his passes and does so with an impressive success rate. His angled kicks out of his hands are counter attack starters and his range is unrivalled in this league. The thing with his style of distribution is that the odd kick ends up going out of play, such is the low margin for error with his technique. Unfortunately that's what the unobservant majority remember.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 Great performance tonight from Kasper and all of the defence.

Gets unnecessary flack for his weaknesses while people take his strengths for granted.
sdb Posted 30 December 2015 Posted 30 December 2015 If he could command his box at set pieces better we'd never have to even contemplate a new keeper for the next 5-6 years. How is it not being worked on?! Excellent tonight anyway.

How is it not being worked on?! Excellent tonight anyway. Being 6 foot tall probably makes it hard as its pretty short for a goalkeeper, so I assume he does work on it but due to his size he is never going to be coming 10 yards out and catching corners off the top of 6 foot 6 inches tall defenders heads! If Kante could win more aerial balls he would be better. Why is it not worked on? He's 5ft 5 and will never be his game. Get it?
