coolhandfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 14 on goals in 38 for a poor WBA side last year, overrated? If he happy he could be a real gem! He was 21, Ulloa 28, that's what makes it impressive, he may be a complete nob, but you can't say he's not got talent!
Sly Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 His situation isn't that dissimilar to the Sterling saga. Since Raheem moved it's all gone quiet and he goes about his business. To a degree it depends who wants this lad. Steve Walsh, or Claudio? Are we being shrewd here, as we'll need English based players at youth level for a European campaign? I think you need eight, so Vardy, King, Drinkwater, Albrighton, Morgan, Kasper (unsure), Chilwell, Dodoo, Simpson, James? Then it'll depend who's staying next season. All of our players talk about what a great "Man Manager" Claudio is. I'm sure if anyone can get the best out of Saido Berahino it would be him. Is he arrogant....may be, then, so it Ronaldo, it doesn't stop him being a game winner. I personally don't think he meshes with our style that well, he's selfish, you only have to look at the turning game for us last season and he wasted a glorious opportunity in a 3 vs 2 when he choose to go alone. Saying that, Austin isn't the answer either.
mozartfox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I would rather see a Forest match with the Mother-in-law than see him in Foxes shirt. As Simon would say, 'it is a no from me'.
Wizerud Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 This lad doesn't have the presence to upset what we have in the dressing room. He's young, just 22. He's immature. But with the experienced heads we've got and working alongside Vardy I think that could only help him. He wouldn't even be the best striker at the club. He just needs to buy in to what we're doing. If he does, he might be enjoying playing in Europe next year. And make no mistake he'd be a huge asset if we could get the best out of him. Bottom line - if the club is convinced his attitude wouldn't be an issue, take a chance. How big that "if" is...who knows.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I've mentioned him a couple of times in the "whole should we get" to a luke warm reaction so not suprised at the comments so far. Personally, I see this as a perfect opportunity for club and player; *SB fell out with West Brom because he wanted to test himself at a higher level essentially - he has drive, ambition. Ok, he may have done a few silly things in the circus, but ironically he's still showing good qualities by wanting to leave. *When he does move, he will be eager to prove his worth, have a point to prove - something we've been very successful with *We clearly have a great competitive team spirit - so that will only rub off on SB at least for the short term *We could do with another striker *He has pace *He has raw talent - that I think our coaching staff could improve a great deal *He could provide us with 5-8 goals between now to the end of the season - invaluable given what we're now aiming for I think the comments mentioning the similarities to the Stan Collymore transfer are fair to some degree, although I dare to suggest Stan was a more established bell-end and talent when we got him - but I'd be excited by this transfer if it went through. For one it would show that players eyes are turning, that they think our project has substance to it and they want to be a part of it, and for two, it would be a second Young British talent that we've signed in this window.

Yes, because he's got the move he moped about for at a massive club. If Berahino comes here and performs well enough, there's no reason to assume he won't do the same given what he's doing at the moment

Legend fox Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Just had a phone call off his mum Mary. She said even herself and his farther Joseph have had enough. The poor lad is now sleeping out side as he cant get his head through the door. I suggested moving back into a stable. Jesus any one would think Berahinio was gods gift.
justfoxes Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! Thank you very much but I think we'll pass on that one !! Mind you if we do get him but not likely we can always buddy him up with Wasyl one foot out of place and he will have a quiet word in his shell like with a forearm smash !! He has got talent but he's a petulant kid who when he doesn't get his own way sulks and it shows in his performances ?
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I don't see why Berahino would have to have the same relationship with our management team as he does with Pulis? They are clearly at an impasse with no side backing down. Berahino remains one of the country's brightest young talents. He's quick and a good finisher. Given the right management he could probably turn himself around I think and get back to playing football. It shows how quickly things can change. A year ago (just one year) we wouldn't have been even contemplating being linked with this kid. We were contemplating relegation. A risk...perhaps. One worth taking? Yep I think so.
AKCJ Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Superb footballer. Just doesn't want to be at West Bromwich. His manager is Tony Pulis and he's got to be mates with Johnny Evans and Craig Gardner.

indierich06 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Is he better than Okazki, Ulloa and Kramaric? Yes, demonstrably. I think a lot of the stuff about his attitude is completely overblown - I'd probably act like a right **** if I had to work with Tony Pulis too. And its something our scouts will have looked at too - if they think his attitude won't be an issue then that's good enough for me.

foxoffderby Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Hes got pace and is a good finisher. I would take him
kingcarr21 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I don't know what to make of this. Does this look like another Balotelli to Liverpool type of signing? SB looks to have an attitude problem but West Brom and Pulis haven't exactly dealt with his situation that well. I wonder if he's a player that could flourish here. He clearly has talent. I would be worried how he would react if he was on the bench here. If the price is right then I wouldn't complain if we went for him. I trust our scouts 100% in whoever they bring in. If they think he would be a great addition then i'm happy to see it happen. If he went somewhere else though I wouldn't be bothered.

Personally, I always thought the Balotelli to Liverpool thing was ridiculous. I'm sure I posted this on the forum at the time (Grandad's thread). Balotelli had a track record of doing the same thing wherever he'd been and signing him seemed ridiculous. Berahino is a completely different situation. He's fallen put with Pulis. So would I.
Stevosevic Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 He gets shoved out on the wing in a Tony Pulis side, if you were a young talented striker you'd want to leave as well.
Nick Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 I'd take him at LCFC - there is more to the story about his transfer to Spurs that never happened - the player was given assurances, he then got his hopes up and then was let down and the young lad spat his side out on social media and in turn got vilified for it. He's a player that's better than what we have as 2nd striker and has the potential to be even better than he is now due to his age. Sign him up.
goose2010 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 would take him at the right price bags of potential, young and obviously hates Pulis's style which is basically the opposite to ours!
LCCFox96 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 As much as Berahino has behaved a complete twat I do think he's had a rough time of it at West Brom too. Easy to lambast the player but I doubt he is 100% at fault. He's a very talented young kid who has made a few mistakes. No reason a move here, or another club that value him, wouldn't give him a new lease of life and allow him to get his head down again. Every PL fan has seen what he can do when that happens.
Fox92 Posted 15 January 2016 Posted 15 January 2016 Renieiri has clearly spoken about getting the right player in to not upset the dressing room. So on this I can't see him going for Berahino, as good player as he is, because he's the complete opposite to our squad.
