M'baye Niang

Wasn't too sure about this one (think it's a natural reaction with AC Milan players these days as they are a joke at the minute) but I'm liking what I'm reading about him. Know he was tipped for big things a couple of years ago.

FW M'Baye Niang, 5 -- For all his pace, trickery and glimpses of brilliance, Niang remains one of the most frustrating players in the AC Milan squad. While some will argue he is still young and developing, ultimately he isn't delivering in the final third. Whether it's losing possession when trying too much or misplacing a pass, he has serious room for improvement.

Review from his last game. You could see elements of this in his youtube clips. He is an exciting prospect but I am unsure if he would be what we need right now. Perhaps if he joined with another striker then maybe, but for all his talent, there is a element of Balotelli about this I can't help shrug off..

Musa still seems the more sensible buy but I understand the excitement behind this one too and considering we have played with 3 strikers all season, anything to add to that is a bonus now

We are windmilling here looking for any striker we can get our hands on. It's a bit at odds with our usual recruitment process.

Shouldn't have sold Kramaric without having 3 or 4 realistic targets ready.

We've made bids for two players and the rumour mill is chucking out every name under the sun. How are we windmilling?

Posted

Because we have gone in with offers for Eder, Musa, Niang, Pelle and Remy within the space of about 2 days?

When you're buying a TV, you don't just go out and purchase the first one you look at!

Do we not usually smokescreen big signings - McArthur while after cambiasso, mcgoldrick for ulloa etc. We regularly stick more irons in the fire to speed up a decision and sometimes to throw people off, so I don't see how you can say it's not how we normally work, even if we have actually bid for all of these, which is just paper talk.

I don't know.

But there is a difference when reports come out.

If somewhere reports we are interested in a player, you can pass that off as paper talk.

If reports come in that we have actually submitted bids then there is usually a bit more substance to it.

If there's any substance to this then I think it would be good business, considering his age and that he can play wide as well. Potentially could be a move to get CSKA to shift on Musa but even if we signed both and loaned Ulloa out to a championship side it would look promising. He's still young, perhaps frustrated in Italy as the game is a lot slower over there, be interesting to see what some of the Milan forums have to say about it

From the Utube, I can see why people are saying he is like Balotelli.

Bags of natural ability, but seems very raw and needs to improve his shooting. Also seems to have a similar attitude to Balotelli, bit of a joker, crazy haircut etc.

Would be interesting to have a player like him in the team.

When are we going to be linked with someone I've heard of?

Sorry to be the one to tell you, Webbo, but Nat Lofthouse has retired. :D

We are always linked with names, the only one windmilling in a panic is you.

We haven't sold Kram anyway.

It's only at odds with how we would normally do it because we have about three days until the window shuts. The process will be no different, identify targets, enquire about targets, bid for targets. The only difference is we don't have time to wait and get knocked back, so you have to work on multiple deals at the same time.

If we couldn't make bids until Kramaric had gone, which is pretty much what Ranieri said, there wasn't much you can do other than feel clubs out. It seems like the queue of takers for Kramaric wasn't quite what his agent made it out to be and it took is a long time to shift him off the books.

Looking at his vids you know he's going to be one of those that's spectacular or shit, just raw power and energy... with little middle ground. If you manage to harness his talent though, he looks like he has all the natural attributes to be a top player.

From the You Tube clip which obviously only shows his best bits I'll give him the thumbs up.

Big strong, quick feet, holds it up well, good pass. Age on his side as well.

It's a good way to start the mating process but I can't see it helping us in the transfer market.

He is ridiculously talented but he's off his rocker. I want him here, however. We need a maverick, we have such a strong team spirit to cope with someone like this and get the best out of them. I'm sure there'd be the odd flare up, but how could you not want to do your best under Don Claudio?

Posted

Castoffs and hand me downs are the kinds of player who tend to pay off for us. I think we have more than enough leadership in the squad to cope with him and having a few French lads here already should help him settle. He fits our policy focusing our recruitment on young, quick players like Gray and Amartey too. Hope we can drill into him the importance of closing down high up the pitch so he end up a misfit for the team like Kramaric.

From the youtube vids he seems a bit like a stronger Mahrez, tricky and skilful but less likely to get muscled off the ball. Riyad has looked at his most lacklustre for us when playing against more physical opponents. If Claudio think he can be managed and moulded them gerrimmin
