MC Prussian Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Today we won ugly. Winning matches like these, win titles. If you don't believe now, then you never will. All we can hope for now is that Man U beat Arsenal, and Swanesa beat Spurs tomorrow. That'd be in the ideal world. I'll already be happy if both matches end in a draw, because it'd keep both Manchester United and Arsenal away from us, allowing for the gap between us and the other title chasers as well as fifth spot to remain the same or even grow. It'd be great if Swansea beat Spurs, but I don't see they have what it takes to achieve that feat, so taking a point off that game will probably be the best case they can hope for in their current state and shape.
Corky Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 And all those nerves in the final minute wouldn't have occurred if the linesman had seen the clear deflection for a corner from Mahrez's play. How the hell did he miss that from 5 yards away?
FoxyGhirl Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Winning when it doesn't seem you can is the mark of champions. My team, Celtic have done this so many times. (Now we just rely on Aberdeen being shite).
StanSP Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 That's poor from you. We have in the past put 11 men behind the ball. We also like to be aggressive, the games gone soft. Also the tackle that Vardy put on Howson was equally as "nasty" I said I didn't like it. Not that I like it when we do it and not others. And there's a difference between aggressive and overly aggressive. Albrighton had about 3 or 4 late challenges on him in the first half if I remember correctly. Not sure what what I said makes it 'poor' from me?
ScouseFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 there was a naismith tackle on mahrez which was ludicrously bad. there was clearly no attempt to win the ball or even make a "tackle", he just wiped him out.
Izzy Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 The sheer relief of that goal! It was like a long hard wank when your not turned on. Not sure I quite understand the metaphor, but it made me chuckle none the less

Ozwin Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 It's going to suck when I wake up and this was all a stupid dream. I've gone past 'omg yay 1st place' to a 'wait, it's actually happening' isn't it' and it's freaking me out. I don't quite know what to do with myself. If United and Swansea win tomorrow I'm going to bust a nut.
Livid Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Not sure if this has been posted but I love it!

Imagine if Arsenal had played that Norwich team today, the game would have been abandoned before half time. I still don't understand why fouling somebody (good) with a clear shot at goal 20 yards out is not a yellow card but tugging a shirt of somebody (less good, and certainly not much of a crosser) on the touch line is a yellow card.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Has anyone realised that today's goal is almost identical to Vardy's equaliser in the home game against Villa earlier in the season?
HighPeakFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 I think it resembles it, but is no where near identical
Socks Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Much better last quarter. Ulloa did what hes best at. Impact sub. Drinkwaters passing was poor. People need to get off Amartey's back FFS That displayed a week off was a bad call. But hopefully its woke us up ready for the baggis. Reckon we will see a much better start on tuesday
Wymsey Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 I really feel that Albrighton is harshly under-rated by some. His crossing and awareness is very good. Still not convinced by Okazaki, seems rather sloppy and lacks pace - though he was unlucky with that flick in the first half.

Vardinio'sCat Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Thanks. Just realized CR said he's had a hamstring issue they've been managing for a while now. Hopefully he's okay to play a good chunk of Tuesday's game. If not, perhaps Simpson returns to to RB and Amartey provides cover for King from the bench This is the first I've heard of this, and now I'm worried. Theme park ride.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Oh wow, don't think I've ever been so relieved after a goal. I'm normally up screaming and shouting but I sat straight back down and just breathed out a huge sigh. reminded me of that Leeds game at Elland Road in the Championship winning season when they missed a few good chances and then Nuge popped up in the last minute to poke the winner in.
TJB-fox Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Important to get a win today to get Arsenal fully out our systems. Great to win even when lacklustre. Pleased for Leo. Important we learm from this though and try not to be tactically beaten byteams like Norwich West Brom etc who will literally come in and park the bus. Great result!

I think he's a valued member of the team, mainly for the big shift he puts in. He does provide fine crosses, especially from the right. The one for the goal today is not something we see from him a lot as he tends to cross to the far post from deep. Funny you should raise his awareness after a game where he lost the ball on a number of occasions due to a lack of concentration.

I think this is the single-most important consequence of today's game. A draw or a loss today could've led to a crippling slump in form, but a win, scrappy as it was, will restore the belief in the players.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Most important win of the season.
North East Fox Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 Couldn't agree more Sooper, not celebrated a goal like that since (Man City game exc).... WBA away, which was only because I hate WBA
ozleicester Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 We're actually doing it aren't we guys? We are staying up. SSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH youll jinx it
