z-layrex Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 He was a defender and we had a clean sheet. What's the problem?
ScouseFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Some here, or a lot, give Ulloa a lot of s**t. I've said it a few times. If he can sort his Football out he'll be an absolute star. at this. "if he was good at football he'd be good at football" agree 100% pal
FireFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 @@Des. Gonna use one of those for my phone's home screen. So many to chose from though, can't decide which!
possiblygeorge Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Apparently CR is looking at bringing Totti to us next season. Doubt it'll be any more than a rumour, but, if it happens, wow.
Sampson Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Ulloa is a fantastic goal poacher, I think his main problem is because he's tall people assume he's a target man when he really isn't. He's a fantastic headerer of the ball when going for goal but he plays with his back to goal too much which doesn't really suit his game. Anyway, he did what he did best today and that's find space and put the ball in the net and he's earnt us 2 points, which is why he's always in the squad and a great option to bring off the bench.
TheSomersetFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 on Amartey too - seemed like his passing was a bit off but he got forward a fair few times too, without really doing much with it. not seen enough of him to know if RB really is his position either but he's only a 21 year old lad, he'll be good for us i'm sure. Simpson back in on Tuesday
lestajigs Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Have a feeling that there'll be similarly frustrating/difficult opposition in our 'home' run-in! I'd imagine that all 6 of the teams still to visit this season will set up to nullify our tactics rather than go for broke.....Trust these boys to come up with answers though! doubt Everton will tbf
KP Fox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Phew. That's a result of a top side though. Well done Ranieri on the subs, was worrying when 4 mins injury time came up though can't even remember a yellow card can't see why there were 4 mins added on. Yeah and yet again when the 4th official shows 4 minutes added time, the ref plays well over 5 minutes!
possiblygeorge Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Yeah and yet again when the 4th official shows 4 minutes added time, the ref plays well over 5 minutes! Arsenal flashbacks.
kingfox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Wasn't pretty by all means but results like that can win you the league. The end product from both teams today was pretty shit, Norwich frustrated us defensively but in terms of going forward they were poor also, amount of balls they played through that went straight back to us or out of play was laughable. As for ourselves it was like we were trying too hard to get the winner, Schmeichel, Drinkwater & Mahrez in particular were forcing things too much and we kept giving away possession. Thought Albrighton's end product wasn't great either; however he got the winning assist so all credit to him. As for players playing well, Huth & Morgan were very solid again, Kante controlled things in the middle of the park but unfortunately went off injured, Okazaki was yet again hit & miss at times but I thought his link play was absolute class today. Tuesday night could well be a scrappy affair, I'd happily take another 1-0.
whetstonefox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 I'm glad Schlupp is back, gives us added pace and unpredictability.
foxes161 Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Hope Kante is ok, amazing we managed to pull this one out
Wymsey Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Disappointed with Kasper's distribution, though he'd had learned. Most were a bit sloppy, didn't have much confidence in wanting to tackle. Happy to continue with Kante and Drinkwater in the middle. Vardy and Mahrez seemed off the boil a bit.

dylanlegend Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Buzzing!! Fair play to Norwich they came with a game plan and executed it very well- expect to see similar games between now and the end of the season. The result today is as important as the Man City win. Back on track and sends a message to others that will try and sit back against us
kingfox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Kante injured?.. Or tactical change? Ranieri said he could miss Tuesday.
GingerrrFox Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Amartey isn't a right back. Considering it was his first game at a much higher standard than he has played before, he did very well. Always looking to make runs forward, strong in the air and made a couple of important interceptions. It's obvious he's much more comfortable in the middle of the pitch. If Kante isn't available for Tuesday I would put Amartey alongside Danny in the midfield as he will ease the loss of Kante with his athleticism and physical presence against West Brom.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Not the greatest of performances it was almost like they'd been on holiday for a week Vards didn't look 100 % fit a few had off days and credit to the Canaries they got tactics spot on! All said and done though that's what Champions Elect do. COYB

You'd put Amartey in the middle? He seemed quite nervous to me.. Always looked to make the safe pass rather than make a mistake. I'd put Inler or James in for Tuesday, think Kingy is too similar to Drinky
whoareyaaa Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 We were very poor today, incredibly rusty and really Norwich didn't deserve to lose, same as we didn't v Arsenal so we're square now! Amartey sadly didn't cut it, was even refusing balls from Schmeichel. Schluppy was direct and looked our main threat last 10 even if his decision making wasn't always the best. Glad he s back in the squad though. Kante was subbed, praying not injured ! We have just had a two week break expect us to be rusty thats football, Amartey's first start in a while so a few lose passes is always going to be the case thought he played pretty well in the absense of Simpson and a clean sheet so I don't see how he didn't cut it.
shen Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 Amartey didn't play well at all, too lightweight explains why he doesn't start, not up to games like this yet. But the win was one of champions, Norwich got their tactics spot on held back and fouled well especially on Mahrez Nobody expected fireworks, surely. You won't get many better games in the Prem to give a young defender his debut. Shaky first 45, steady second half I thought. Someone on the match day thread bagged Albrighton but I thought overall he was good and it was his pass that got us the points! He wasted three decent openings first half, but his set pieces and crosses always have at least a decent standard. Very noticeable how much more effective he can be on the right! We need to improve our plan B. We first switched to a 4-4-1-1 when CR made his first two subs, which didn't really work, but the switch to 5-3-2 when Ulloa came on made the difference. Albrighton is just best in that wingback position, not only for his assist, but also for his defensive contribution. We stretched Norwich out which we hadn't done all game, and it paid off. This, I feel, will be our plan B under similar circumstances and it's superb that CR gambled on it.

I'd put Inler or James in for Tuesday, think Kingy is too similar to Drinky Amartey's preferred position is defensive midfield. As the nearest set of qualities to Kante
