"Just a second Vic, I've got to respond to a post about Lee Cattermole on FT. Be with you both in a sec..." lol

The Mackems need 3 points, despite the Allardyce technical genius bumming, to score they will have to attack when they do we will pick them off. Win by 2 clear goals I feel is on the cards.

Chaaaaaaaaaaaarge :)

Ok I have read a lot, but not all of the comments on this thread, so here goes with an attempt to clarify a few points.

Sorry to let you know O'Shea won't start. Lone has taken his place and has been a great signing, big mobile can tackle as well as play a bit with the ball.

While it is true that we are not winning games, it is not that we are playing badly. It is a bit like you lot last year, you kept losing games but played well and until the last 10 games never got the rub of the gree.

We have only lost three games this year, Man City at home when we were the better team and lost to a soft goal. But that is what keeps teams at the bottom!, Spurs away where we were well beaten and West Ham away where once again we had more of the game and more and better chances but lost 1-0.

Our recent draws have all been three points dropped. Southampton away 95th min equaliser for them, Newcastle again a late equaliser in a game where we should have been well out of sight, last week against West Brom 27 shots for us and not a single shot on target for them! Forster had a fantastic game in goal for them three outstanding saves to keep a clean sheet.

So those of you who are calling this a tough game are right. Having watched you a few times recently I am impressed with the speed at which you play the ball, reminds me of Forest under Clough, that could cause us a few problems if we don't get close to your midfield and break things up. One thing I did notice last week was the space between your back four and the midfield, it might be just because I had watched West Brom play four centre backs and four central defensive midfielders against us, and that can give room for us to play in.

I think you are right when you say we have weaknesses at full back, but both are getting better at their defensive duties and Sam has the midfield covering gaps when they bomb forward.

I think it will be a draw which is better for you than for us, but it will be a tight game.

Hope you win all of your other games as it will be a breath of fresh air if you win the league.

Well Washy.....think you're wrong on the draw but you do have Norwich next week. Better hope Norwich drop points this week cause i see both you and Newcastle being relegated before the last game

I think Sunderland have a much better team than Norwich & Newcastle.

Whether that's enough to keep them up is debateable. At this stage of the season that doesn't matter for much though as it's now a sprint not a marathon.

I'll be hoping Norwich beat Palace tomorrow so it forces Sunderland to take risks and go for the win. I've a feeling Sunderland will just keep it tight and try and nick it with one of their few chances and if Norwich don't win tomorrow a point won't be a bad result for Sunderland.

I think Sunderland will stay up. I just hope the winning run starts in 2 weeks time.

Thinking they've played this survival game too many times and the cards won't fall for them this year.

Anyone stopping over at the weekend?

Great places to stay like the fantastic Seaham Hall, the Marriott on the seafront at Seaburn, or the lively Roker Hotel.

Night out in Newcastle, or South Shields, or maybe just a curry at the Shagorika on the seafront that is amazing.

Great beach too.

Anyone taking the North East in?

Funny thing is it looks like right now Sunderland and Newcastle will go down...who would of thought

Don't forget Middlesbrough likely to come up  lol

Whilst losing this game wouldn't immediately cost us the title it would give Spurs a massive boost going into their hardest game left.

The  psychological impact of us dropping points will give Spurs hope if they then beat Man U it will put the pressure on going into a tough game against West Ham, 4 points clear would still be a great position, but pressure and momentum are funny things.

Beating Sunderland would put us 10 points clear and put the pressure on Spurs against United

Sums it up perfectly. A win tomorrow and others will believe it's to late to catch us. Utd need to win just as much as Spurs if their going to make the top 4. So a draw there might suit us

with Utd nothing to play for before our game with them.

On the other hand it's a you say, lose and the pressure is really back on us with West Ham up next. No easy fixture with the way they're playing.

We really need a big game from Mahrez and Albrighton creating space for Vardy and Shinji.

Onwards and upwards we go.

Games like this are always difficult. But in days gone by we would almost definitely lose.

Got a decent feeling about this one.

As we fully know from last season, creating chances and not winning doesn't help in the slightest, dire was probably harsh but not scoring at home to WBA is not great however you look at it. My point is more that they are not on some crazy revival so we should go there expecting to win.

I see where you coming from, but these will be a threat up front especially with Defoe starting. He would hate to drop points to us especially since it seems the title is either ours or Spurs.

You do know Arsenal are second favs don't you ?

Sunderland 4 - 1 L.city.

Then the angel appears with the blue n white champions scarf..

The rest will be burned into the history books.

King Richard will proudly be just straightening his crown on the ride back home.

Poor sam will be saying....it was the bells, it was the bells....ding dong, ding dong the

goals just rang in. Black cats 4-5 Foxes.

The "Ranieriator" does it again.

The fear is not ours, but the opposition are scared of being "RANIERIATED"

Game is now tomorrow and I'm getting really nervously excited for this one

No doubt about it Sunderland are in a false position for me and should be mid table

Just hope we can beat them anyway

:fc: Leicester win

That's quite a claim. Especially when you say that there can be 'no doubt' that what you're saying is true.

They're down there because they're getting it wrong at crucial moments.

We are due a win up there, it's a season for wins at places we often struggle at... West Ham, Newcastle, Spurs, Palace etc.

Defoe is always a threat and I'm amazed he hasn't scored enough goals to get them out of this it's hard to think there aren't 3 worse teams in this league than them but they've been fairly poor for a few seasons now and can't seem to get punching. I think there'll be a few goals in this, 2-1 to us.

Posted

Defoe has scored enough goals it's the rest of the useless donkeys that let their side down.

0-3 city. Mahrez 2 Vardy 1

Hope Sunderland stay up I like them as a club and as fans but I really can't see it tbqfh.

Maybe mid table is an exaggeration but I think there is at least three teams who are worse than them.

They were an utter shambles under Advocaat and looked like they could easily have done a Villa but under Allardyce they've gradually got better and improved since the January transfer window. It will be tough but hopefully we'll do our usual 0-1.
