Champions League in the bag!

Ok, so just to give an example:

One of this seasons Champions League groups was made of:

CSKA Moscow

PSV Eindhoven

Manchester United

Wolfsburg

By my reckoning, because Barcelona won the previous champions league, CSKA became the pot 1 team.

PSV would be second seed based on Holland being ranked 9th on co-efficients

Man Utd 3rd with their ranking from the higher ranked european league

Wolfsburg 4th.

At the time of the draw Holland were 8th ranked, so PSV were top seeds. Man Utd 2nd seeds, due their team performance in Europe, CSKA 3rd and Wolfsburg 4th. Outside pot 1 the teams are ranked by their own score.

Here the details with how the pots were made up last year.

Wtahcing Spurs today I honestly think we need 79.

You mean 81, haha.

I think they'll drop points but they are playing quality football right now.

Never thought I would see Leicester in the champions league. Was just a joke thinking about it. Now it's real.

Will def be in the group stages also. Wake me up

Pots 3 and 4 can be highly friendly, or absolutely brutal.

Teams from around europe will see this for themselves with our league. Us and Spurs with no European pedigree in amongst BATE and Malmo

Can you imagine that first home game when the Champions League theme tune is being played out. I think I'll be in tears.

In tears? Really? I'll be in tears if we win the league, but we've won nothing yet. Let's not become Arsenal and treat qualification as a trophy. I'm delighted the club has managed this, and I'll be delighted if we keep doing it, but I'm not going to be an emotional wreak until we actually have silverware in our hands.

Whatever happens we can always say we went for it. Worked every day, covered every blade of grass in the search of sporting immortality. Better than just settling for top 4 and banking the CL cash.

You think they are going to drop any points? I don't think they will. Make no mistake we will need to win 3 games to do it.

They will. Stoke and Chelsea away coming up for them. I don't think Spurs will win all their remaining games.

Absolutely magnificent achievement. What a team, what management, what supporters. Two months ago I, like many had the Champions League as achievable but privately just hoped for Europa League. I will be so disappointed if we do not win the league now but it should not take away from this achievement, today.

What happened to my thread about this from last night ??

We hadn't qualified last night! lol

I never suggested that we had. It was a place to ask a question about the qualification process and how it effects Premier League clubs.

I didn't see anywhere else dedicated to discuss our chances. Not impressed.

Spurs are probably the best team I n the league right now. On quality of play. They were never going to roll over. And clearly won't. We have to see this through via our own efforts as they are going to destroy opposition for rest of season. Weird - qualifying for CL is immense. But if I'm honest, I don't feel anything towards it. It's all about seeing this title chase through.

I'm happy to just qualify but will still be disappointed if we do not win it after bossing the league for so long.

Key

Uefa Champions League: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Europa League: 5th
Relegation: 18th, 19th, 20th

Spurs look really, really good right now, looking at their last 5 matches I can only see them potentially dropping points away to Chelsea. Thankfully we've got a good enough lead to allow us to slip up several times in the few games

Based on in last 6 getting 11 pts and us 16? they have played great football but haven't closed the gap , the gap has got wider

Maybe somebody felt you were tempting fate.

Only on FoxesTalk could the biggest achievement in the clubs history to date be met with comments like "Where's my thread?"

Suck it up and just be happy we're now part of the elite.

Yeah lets not become like one of the biggest clubs in the country. Come on lads.

I personally have dreamed of hearing that anthem at a Leicester game for all of my life. It's a sign of "making it" and I will be a very proud man when that time comes.
