harpendenfox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Sense of humour gentlemen, he's clearly just having a gentle prod.
CosbehFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 An Anglo Italian cup run which involved just a single victory in the way to the final.
ElusiveEd Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 first off, I would just like to say well done on winning the league a great achievement for such a small club like yours. I'm hearing that people are calling this the greatest in sporting history? wtf. When you win the Anglo-Italian cup, come back and spout that you have won the biggest trophy there is to win. Notts County fc = most successful European club in the Midlands Seriously mate. do you spend a lot of time on your own?

You come on here after a 0-5 thrashing and ended SEVENTEENTH in your division, what a pillock!!
David Hankey Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Lighten up chaps, he's clearly joking. He's clearly numpty-headed!!
filbertway Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Anybody who took that post to heart, when it was clearly, painfully obviously a joke, should receive a 3 month ban from here. Only by winning the charity shield can we truely say we've emulated Notts County's successes.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 The OP bloke is taking the piss out of his own club for a laugh. Lighten up.
HighPeakFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Some of our members are very thin skinned, it would seem. Patent silliness from the OP, nothing to squabble over.

Vlad the Fox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Come on people, he's having laugh. Having said that the greatest night meadow lane has ever seen was that soaking zds night.
filbertway Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 We won that in 1971 so famous well before them Is it just me or was our winner offside? I like that we were a boring 1-0 side back then as well, definitely a sign we will be winning it next season as well
Bluetintedspecs Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Come on guys, care in the community is there to help integrate people back into society......make allowances!
Babylon Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Some people aren't good at taking an obvious joke are they
sylofox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Top bantz by the OP. Shame it was a WHHOOOOSSSHH moment for so many.
Russell sprout Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I'm a Notts fan who speaks it how it is, I ****ing hate forest. Say what you like about the cup you have never won and never will, fact is we have. We beat the best clubs around at the time, even if you win the champions league it will never be a patch on what we did in Europe In Europe, you mean in England and Italy,Europe is a continent not a country, Your more retarded than a forest fan, Well done on your past success of winning the Anglo Italian cup,but your cannot surely believe that's a bigger achievement than the champs league or prem title, It's a big thing for a tiny club like yourself but keep your bragging rights for Mansfield and Chesterfield fans, who at the moment are bigger and better than yourselves, but at least you'll have some 'european' success card to wave at them
Alf Bentley Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 "Here in peace", jog on you tiny, insignificant League 2 minnow. You come on here after a 0-5 thrashing and ended SEVENTEENTH in your division, what a pillock!! We were League 1 minnows in 2008-09. County were in the top tier in the early 90s. After a 0-5 thrashing and 17th in L2 seems like the ideal time for a proper fan to mouth off humorously. Some of the responses here are very embarrassing. In my misspent youth as a Folkestone Town fan, we used to dream of playing one of the big clubs from the 4th division: a 2-5 defeat at Oxford Utd and 0-2 at Brentford were the highlights. To play in the Anglo-Italian Cup would have been dreamland. I bet that was a right and glorious laugh....and Jimmy Sirrel was the bloke who taught Becks all he knows about football image marketing. Still don't understand about the club names in Nottingham, though. County's ground is in the city, not the county - and Forest's is in West Bridgford, not Nottingham. County need to rename themselves Nottingham City, and Forest need to accept that they are indeed "Notts Forest" - or "West Bridgford Forest", if they prefer.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Oh god, success has gone to some people's heads already - how anyone can consider the original post as serious is beyond me! And then to attack a guy who supports Notts County - hasn't he suffered enough?!? This kind of thing, the constant Spurs baiting and general superiority complex being shown by some of our fans is not a good look. Remain humble and win classy Leicester City fans.
sylofox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 The sad thing is the competition no longer exists. How can we ever match Counties success. LCFC forever in that shadow.
Alf Bentley Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Oh! A personal connection with Notts County..... A few years back, a load of my ex-London mates came up for our biennial booze, poker and football weekend. Naturally, we opted for a Notts County v Rochdale match..... Notts County 0, Rochdale 4: County were terrible, Dale were very good and that baldy midfielder who ended up at Bradford ran the show for them. After the match, County manager Bill Dearden was sacked.....a poignant moment for me. As a kid, I'd seen him playing for the Blades a few times in the early 70s - when he lived next-door-but-one to my Sheffield Grandma & Grandpa. Thanks for enjoying my story! [Edit: Sorry, it was Mansfield, not Notts County. I got my story wrong! ]
