Vardy

If he's waiting for our offer then obviously it's about the money.

Means it's more likely he'll stay but makes him come across very poorly indeed.

Just a thought. Say we offered him 100k/week and he agrees to stay. But the price of staying is his release fee is now 10 million. (Cos by staying, he has missed out on a 10 mill s/o fee with arsenal and by next summer, he will only be worth 20mill, not 30). Will all of you get your knickers in a twist with Rudkin next June when he goes to chelski for 10m?

Well yeh because it's all come about from the original signing on fee.

Like someone said earlier in this thread, we've put all the power in Vardy's hands. We should have been stronger.

I miss the days before social media and 24 hour news. Things were much easier and simpler then  :innocent:

Everyone complaining about the release clause, how do we know his original deal didn't have a 10-15m release on it?

Arsenal fan in peace ( I think it shows my profile pic anyway, but didn't want to seem deceiving )

Honestly I'm uncertain on Vardy as he's different and am not sure if he will fit our style, but it see,s like a massive deal if we can get him and it works out, that sucks for you. On whether he signs for us, I would say there is a feeling he is going to reject us and stay with you, but also some say perhaps it's to make it seem like a harder decisiOn.

On Mahrez for months there has been talk about him and Mkhitaryan, and I think the general feeling is we would love Mahrez, but Mkhitaryan is our main target and Kicker has just said that he could leave for around €35million euros, and our chief negotiator Dick Law is in Germany it was reported earlier.

I didn't know there was so much ill feeling against us from Leicester fans but I have to say this is one of the most submitted to Forums I've seen and it's the off season so your support is awesome.

Saying on the goonersworld forum that he'll make a decision before England fly out tomorrow at 11.30am.

Source is the BBC journo David Ornstein on his twitter account.

Quoting a 4 year deal, agreed with LCFC and up to Jamie to make the decision.

May as well get some sleep folks,

I doubt he will be getting 10m signing on fee, that's normally for free agents. One of the reasons Wenger has gone for him is because he is cheap so at 20m, factor in 4 years wages at 120k or so a week and his value over the contract period isn't that great for Arsenal due to Vardys age. As much as we love Vardy and the importance he has in our team, it is a slight step down from their other 'targets' Higuain, Aubameyang or Morata. They will still have to buy a world class striker by next summer, Morata seems the obvious choice as he is young.

The problem at Arsenal is Giroud being the main striker, I'm sure he will be the top guy even if Vardy goes.

I wonder what will be worth more for the agent, a cheaper release fee and higher wages or a cut of a higher transfer fee and decent wages. It's defiantly not staying at the current club even with an improved contract.

Hopefully we can get Musa and Slimani sorted, at least they aren't busy with the Euros.

I'm gunna be so pissed if Vardy signs for Arsenal whilst I'm having my midday shit. Don't want to be reading that whilst I'm trying to enjoy myself on the throne.

Maybe you did activate the release cause and put a good offer on the table, also knowing it would dismantle our title challenge next season without this key figure spear heading the attack.

But now we have probably matched your offer and is likely to stay on better money, which was probably the agents game from the off.

For me its not about his value hes going for its about how he said "we are band of brothers" and how he signed to say hes happy here etc only to go okay Arsenal il go to u cos ur giving me more money where is the honour in that. People can say well wouldnt you go if someone offered u more? Il tell u i did that once and it was the worst thing i did. i would rather be on minium wage where you are happy and enjoying life then work for someone who makes u work like a slave! And no1 care who u are (But hes a footballer an extra 20 to 40k to him is tax money) so footballer in general should have honour. I can even understand if Arsenal was his home town club but its not and if any of this is true and he really did wanna go and then we offered him more to stay with us(personaly i wouldn't ) then i dont think i could like him anymore he clearly is only here for the money and it would just be like having Backford back which really pains me to say but its like when your best mate hurts u bad and then u forgive em but the bond is not really there anymore but thats just me
