foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Yep looks like hes going. Think were all clutching at straws now. Wonder who our new strikers will be? We surely have to buy 2 strikers as a minimum. Hopefully they can produce the goods... Yes we now need two strikers and both will need to be well equipped to hit the ground running. I'm sure we will continue to play the style we have so Walsh and co know what is required
EGBFitness Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If Musa scores that many: 5000/1 Is that it? Pretty cert for him to bag 44 then
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This just doesn't make sense on so many levels. He best explain himself if he goes the fcukin scrubber. The sad thing is I bet we'll only see about £15 million of this and that gets you nothing. this is what's got me, too. players come and go. we're used to it. we carry on. we win the league. but a player like him, to go now from a position like this, to a club like arsenal, leaving a squad like this?! none of it really adds up. except the bit where we blame his bird. which makes total sense.
TJB-fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 ****ing get Benzema or Higuain and Messi and Lewandowski in or Ronaldo anyone to make me feel a bit better right now
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 WHEN YOURE CLOSE TO TEARS REMEMBER SOME DAY ITLL ALL BE OVER ONE DAY WE'RE GONNA GEEEET SO HIIIIIGH THOUGH ITS DARKER THAN DECEMBER, WHATS AHEAD IS A DIFFERENT COLOUR ONE DAY WE'RE GONNA GEEEEEEET SO HIIIIIGH
Sly Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Okay, joking aside, this is going to happen. IT ISNT THE END OF THE WORLD. This points to us changing our playing style maybe? How long before he gets injured down at Woolwich anyway?
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 He might have been off but it wouldn't have been for a ridiculously low fee like £20million! I don't know how we allowed this £20m release clause.. He's worth £30m minimum. Only way i can think is that he had a £20m release in old contract and it rolled into his new one if a champions league club came in for him.. More than anything i'm just confused and gutted he genuinely seems to want to leave? Based on what? Are you an expert on players' values or evaluations? He's closing in on the natural end of his playing career, with maybe two to three, if not four years ahead of him. For all we know, he might rapidly decline in abilities sooner than later. The reported release clause was highly likely included to keep interested parties away in the quest for Premier League title glory, as mentioned previously. I have trust in our management and scouting department who also had a massive influence in this past miracle season. They don't strike me as being stupid and if they regard Vardy as replaceable, then so be it.
EGBFitness Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If you tweet abuse to his wife then you're a massive weirdo. If you tweet her saying "don't worry about abuse, we still love Jamie!" you're a massive weirdo. If you tweet anything to our striker's wife, you're a weirdo.
ian_marshall Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he moves I kind of understand his rationale to some degree and I can understand why we may not match the wage offered by Arsenal, however I'm just annoyed that we have let him go for such a small fee given his current market value. Should this deal happen someone at the club needs to be held accountable for this as the fee isn't acceptable. As others have mentioned it's going to cost us a lot more to find a suitable replacement.
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 People saying its modern football. It's just football mate. We sold Lineker to Everton and Smudger to Arsenal in the 80s. Bigger clubs always pinch players. Just like we pinch players from the likes of Bristol City and Brighton. but we won the league. there is only one benefit to playing for arsenal next year and that is more money. that's modern football.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Okay, joking aside, this is going to happen. IT ISNT THE END OF THE WORLD. This points to us changing our playing style maybe? How long before he gets injured down at Woolwich anyway? We will not change the style of play, we will buy a suitable replacement ... which is possible with the money and status we now have
hairmetalgamer Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 What is it was a picture of a text message and I bottled out and removed it, might upset the person I got it from if they saw that I'd shared it
st albans fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 1). It's more than 20k per week. He will get at least a 10mill signing on fee. Over four years that an extra 50k/week. Accepting that his salary is around 120/130k and perhaps you can see why he may have decided to sign. 2) this will make the season DVD seem a bit crap. I haven't come to terms with winning the damn thing yet! 3) bollox 4) Did vardy and party really rhyme?
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Bought for £1m, a tidy profit of about £19m, two seasons where he was amazing including winning the Premier League. He will always be a legend in my eyes, but now he seems to be going, really not that bothered to be frank. He is nearly 30 and I trust Walsg to bring in an ideal replacement. I think Musa is on his way
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Can't wait to watch arsenal fan tv next season with the black guy who's back of his head looks like early 90s Homer Simpson's mouth
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Shane long will be his replacement probably no way
m4DD0gg Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Jamie-Vardy-vows-stay-Leicester-City/story-29250614-detail/story.html Less than a month ago. If this goes through he will not have a leg to stand on.
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I saw him buying an Arsenal shirt from Loughborough market. It's Vardy and his wife who won't be safe. If this deal goes through, I'm more than happy to see the back of Chappy.
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If it happens I'll be gutted but I refuse to be bitter about it. We won the league a few weeks ago and that's all that matters. Take the rough with the smooth. Still, it's a shame if, even now, players just think we're a stepping stone and People are so disrespectful of our achievement that we would have no players in the England squad when we could, and probably should have had at least 3.
nettle Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Maybe when Ranieri was speaking about only wanting players who were happy to be here maybe he was referring to Vardy and not Kante.
