Vardy

People saying its modern football. It's just football mate. We sold Lineker to Everton and Smudger to Arsenal in the 80s.

Bigger clubs always pinch players. Just like we pinch players from the likes of Bristol City and Brighton.

A bit different though, clearly. We were shit when we sold lineker and smith.

Looks like Vardy chats shit then!

I can`t think of a worse team in the premier league for him to go too.

A team that plays tippy tappy go no where football for 30 passes before trying to walk the ball into the net.

In terms of a footballing move, it seems bizzare for both Vardy and Arsenal.

Unless Wenger is going to change his football philosophy to suit Vardys game, which he wont, i really don`t understand it.

The way he`s done it, after saying that he wouldn`t leave Leicester, does leaves a our taste for me personally, and for that reason, i certainly wont be clapping him, or giving him a warm welcome when he returns, but then i`m sure he wont care about that in any case.

At the end of the day we move on, we are Leicester City FC, not Jamie Vardy FC, and who knows, we might bring in an even better striker.

Depends who the source is. Stuart James being Midland correspondent has probably heard it from this end. Cross rings up his source for Arsenal stuff and gets told it's happening. It was probably a question he's never asked his Arsenal source anyway.

There's been some good interviews by journalists about their sources. They generally don't ask 'you got any info on your club?' It's more targeted as the club source isn't going to revealed numerous targets without good reason. Generally players leaving clubs on transfers always broken at the leaving clubs end.

You miss the point, he said he knew he'd been offered around weeks ago... Said nothing!

It is quite simple to understand. In January he probably had offers to go to another big club. Vardy himself might have wanted to leave then. We persuaded him to stay with us until the end of the season to see what we could achieve.

In doing this though, he probably wanted a guarantee that we wouldn't stand in the way of a move for him in the summer. Hence the lower than proper value release clause. If the clause was £30-35 million, it would be likely that a bigger club might have not come back in for him at his age.

I'd try to explain normally but you couldn't be more wrong. We were top in January and we finished top.

Vardy played a massive role in that and seemed happy enough and signed a new deal in March time..

We would never ever insert a release clause LOWER than his market value! Players leave clubs all the time but very rarely at their peak and for a lower price than their value!!

You think we would actually allow him to leave for a)less than his value b) to a top 4 rival c) when we're trying to build and money is no object. £20-30m is nothing for our owners so why would they create a new clause allowing one of our star assets to go for the lower end of that scale?

The clause has to have been in before.. He is worth £30m+ therefore if we put a new clause in it should have been around that mark or higher. After all it was Arsene Wenger who said in December (before he even signed a new deal) thatJamie Vardy is worth £30m+ so clearly clubs did value him that much..

For what it's worth personally I think Bert's WUMing.

He knows people still hang on his every word and always makes these sarcy, cryptic (There's not too much cryptic in the tweet i'll give that) tweets that people will panic over.

Maybe i'm just in denial.

He mentions champions league a lot. He obviously really wants to play in it. We are likely to go out in group stages and Wenger is desperate to win it before he retires.

Guaranteed playing in Champions League - Leicester

Potentially on the bench - Arsenal

Yeah can see why he is desperate to go there for Champions League.

We are a top seed and although we are new to the whole experience - that should put us in good odds to get a decent group. Arsenal are bottlers in the league and in Europe, if he wants to go there for his 1 knock out game after group stages he is more than welcome to it

Bastard, not even buying official merch

He ain't earning enough now to buy a new shirt. Team Vardy are closing down all his earning opportunities. He's been cashing in on their brand too much. How ironic.

Can't wait to watch arsenal fan tv next season with the black guy who's back of his head looks like early 90s Homer Simpson's mouth

Cannot wait til Wenger consistently plays him on then left and he plays crap there and then absolutely slated on Arsenal Fan TV.

Very, very naive!

Think I've come to realise that the most frustrating thing isn't that Vardy will leave Leicester. It's that he'll go to Arsenal where his style of play and biggest strengths won't be utilised. It'll be a waste. An absolute waste of talent.
