I assume that they ask for £30million and nobody wants to pay it so it becomes a waiting game to secure everything in the last week.... Transfer deadline day should be a bland quiet affair but it rarely is, so there has to be a reason everything is left until the last minute.

Been thinking about why this happens every year and there are deadline day deals. Only thing I can think of is agents and clubs hold out for as long as possible to do business as the more desprate clubs become the more they are gonna pay in salary and wages. Club gets offered 25m reject it it gets leaked to turn it in to a bidding war and they try and get another 5m or 10m on top. Agent sees the desperation and asks for bigger wages.  Didn't Pearson have a bit of a rant about every transfer deal getting leaked for a similar reason?

Depends if/when we get the deal done. Might be time for him to move elsewhere....or he can go on loan to a Championship club once the loan window opens

I see. Seems unfair, I think he could do pretty well at a lesser Premier League club. I'll always have fond memories of him. He was ice cold while sinking that penalty against the Hammers.

That's what we kept hearing from Arsenal fans about the shady stories surrounding the Mahrez deal.

 

Which reminds me of something I saw on Twitter- a female Arsenal fan had messaged someone who was supposedly Mahrez's cousin about the move- he said there were big clubs interested and a move was possible, which got a huge amount of retweets and got all their hopes up.

 

Next thing she tweeted, he'd sent her a dick pic. Had me in stitches.

Maybe but if we are interested in boufel and the Korean lad and just about every wide player available then doubt we see Musa playing on the wing. Schlupp staying as well and Kaputska still to come through. Just doesn't look like CR sees Musa long term as other that up top.

This is annoying me now. We've seemingly been tracking him for well over 2 years now (?) ish, if we want him go and pay the money. If we don't want him then say we're not interested so we can put the rumour to bed.

If someone else snaps him up I think it's a missed opportunity.

Slimani and N'Zonzi would be fantastic signings. Not sure if this would mean Leo sold, hope not but at the same time it's about trying to keep players happy. If we had the options of Vardy, Musa, Okazaki, Slimani and Ulloa as a strikeforce that'd be excellent, but it's whether Ulloa would be content with that.

I can't see them selling at this late stage unless they can find an adequate replacement which is going to be v tough

 

add to this the fact that rudders still hasnt made it out of the Monte Carlo casino with the transfer kitty and it's probably all too late anyway. (Even if we have a kitty left)

Good point.  Leo who is currently a solid squad player for the reigning Premier League Champions, who are about to embark on a Champions League adventure, might be really pissed about not starting every week and want to jump ship and go and play regularly for a reasonable Championship team ....    like Derby ....  

 

Either way we need a bit of strength in depth at the moment and we have no idea whatsoever how new players will fit in ...   so tbh I wouldn't worry what they thought ...    I'd just tell them you are under contract get on with it.
