Soar Fox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 He joined in November. In January we won all 5 of our league games and conceded 2 goals in the process. We had the tightest defence in the league at that point. And then Chris Wood signed and slept with the gaffers daughter
DB11 Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 He won't be happy to be just a bit-part player and sit on the bench - in a million years he would never have joined "little" Burnley from Manchester United but for lack of first-team opportunities. Seems Walsh "dropped a bollock" by not getting him signed up for the Foxes just 18 months ago when he would have cost you a mere £1.5 million!! Keane was available on loan when you had Morgan & Moore at the back. Where is Moore these days by the way? . Well you've answered that point yourself - he wouldn't want to sit on the bench and 18 months ago we got Huth in on loan... and that bollock he dropped saw us stay in the division and then win the Premier League? If that's a bad day at the office then I'd take that... I very much doubt we wanted Keane after he had been on loan with us. We seemed to get worse every game he played in, plus he was weak as Fvck. We signed Wasileswki after Keanes loan finished won the championship, survived relegation then won the premier league. Remember when he played for Derby against us the year after? He was basically our best player Was absolutely awful and never kicked a ball for Derby again If you think Keane is that bad....quick give us the £20 million:) Ben Mee is far more important to Burnley anyway. Foxes can buy Keane this summer and then pay £30 million for his replacement James Tarkowski next summer. Sorted. Ben Mee? He must have improved then cos he was a liability at Leicester and was almost as bad as Ryan McGivern lol
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 dont want him, looks like he should be scallying on the back of a bus drinking one of these

Dan Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 How many Burnley players would get in our XI now? Answer - The same amount as in our starting 18. So 18?
Lambert09 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Ben Mee Well you've answered that point yourself - he wouldn't want to sit on the bench and 18 months ago we got Huth in on loan... and that bollock he dropped saw us stay in the division and then win the Premier League? Personally think he did a lot better than Keane
foxes21 Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Why are people bringing up Keane's past performances for us like its an indication he must be rubbish? When not two years ago, Danny Simpson was shite & Drinkwater couldn't get in the team. Players improve & with our coaching, Keane could be our next Morgan or Huth.
norwichfox Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Players improve & with our coaching, Keane could be our next Morgan or Huth. Or we could pick up a better than average Sunday afternoon park player and coach them into a Morgan or Huth......maybe

Don't be so silly... how can you not compare a lads first taste of league football as a wee nipper, to what he's like 200 games and 4 years later. Forget the premier league experience he's had, the championship winning, the team of the year inclusion. The fact he was a bit shaky in his 4th senior appearance EVER is all the indication we need on here my good man.

lancyclaret Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Who would have thought a Burnley defender was about to become Leicester's RECORD signing? Keane is good but I'd say about £8 million "good". Do most clubs put "record" signings on the bench? Maybe Keane will start ahead of Morgan or Huth. I think you'll get him for £20 million (including £2/3m add-ons and a 20% sell-on fee). Foxes better be quick - if Stones goes to City for £50m in the next day or two, Everton could well come calling again for Keane.
Nick Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 £18 million reportedly about to go in, incredible. whooaar! That's silly dollar
Babylon Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 £18 million reportedly about to go in, incredible. I just can't see us paying that, it's silly. Surely we have other people on the list, who have we been scouting for the last few years!
lancyclaret Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 It seems both clubs want Keane in their squad but the player wants a move. But, strangely, it seems most Burnley fans are in favour of accepting a VASTLY-INFLATED transfer fee, while most Foxes fans are AGAINST paying such an extortionate price. A lot of dough for a handful of League Cup and perhaps FA Cup matches. Ranieri won't risk Keane even in the Champions League group stages against the Cypriot representatives. And just to think, Keane was within a whisker of golng to Stoke for £7 million in the January window.
lancyclaret Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Obviously, a hefty "sell-on" fee will also be included. 20/25%?
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Said it before...don't bother about the money. The money has become immaterial. It's meaningless. People on here are speaking like it's their own money being spent. The Prem is awash with money. If the club feel Keane is going to be our top centre back, going into the future, they'll pay the fee. They clearly like him and want him. In other news...as I posted a few days back, it looks like Pogba could become the first ever 100 million pound signing, for Man Utd. It's like playing fantasy football now.
Babylon Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Obviously, a hefty "sell-on" fee will also be included. 20/25%? Not at those prices there won't be.
lancyclaret Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 Cannot see any club other than Leicester paying nearly £20 million (or more) for Keane. Maybe Everton....or perhaps United will buy him back in a year or two. His dream move to say "I told you so". Look forward to reading the Leicester Mercury's headlines in the next day or two with a headline like "FOXES SMASH TRANSFER RECORD TO SIGN £20M KEANE" "Premier League champions Leicester today smashed their transfer record to sign £20 million defender Michael Keane (23) from top-flight new boys Burnley...."
ARCHER Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 It seems both clubs want Keane in their squad but the player wants a move. At least the lad has a bit of ambition.

And if they don't get them ? ... Oh well never mind. Made them famous.
AjcW Posted 6 July 2016 Posted 6 July 2016 I know I keep harping on about it and it hardly makes it better.... but if you add together the TV/Sponsor/Participation fees, the Int Champs Cup and a game or two in the champions league will pay for this transfer.......
