themightyfin Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 I'm hearing Gokan Inler has been told he will not have a place in the named 25 man squad next season and is now looking for a new club. City will wave the fee to get him off the wage bill.

MC Prussian Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 If that's true, then I'll be hugely disappointed. But at age 32, he's probably had his chance and blew it. It's also a shame that this last season has potentially destroyed his career with the Swiss national team, as well. I had such high hopes, then Kanté and Drinkwater came along... Oh, well. Onwards and upwards. I wish him well wherever he goes next, Leicester City will do well without him still.

Gerard Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 I thought it was really strange we wanted a huge fee to send him out on loan for six months last season. Ah well you can't win them all and he'll get a new club no doubt if he's a virtual free agent.
Wymsey Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Shame, but didn't moan about it at all towards the club. Probably go to Juventus or Milan.
Fox92 Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Obviously a top player - he captained his national side and has played 100+ times for some big clubs - but never really suited us too well. Wish him the best.
filbertstreet Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 I never got to learn which one was Inler and which one was Benalouane
The whole world smiles Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Fantastic attitude went from Swiss captain to not even in the squad for the euros never bitched or moaned and always put the team first. In fact the attitude of a few of squad players played a part in our title win cause all it takes is a few snide, negative voices but inler Kram Benny and co knuckled down and got on with it you only have to look at their social media to see that. Is this the first player with a winners medal to leave us?
johnny the fox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 he needs to be playing.. no problem with that.. won a medal..translates into success ...thanks ...

LinekersApples Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 He lives down the road from me & has a large "Leicester City - Premier League Champions" flag hanging from front bedroom window. Currently out of country, but flag has been up since we were crowned champions.
iamafox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 I really hoped he would do well here. But little did I expect that Kante would well and truly outshine him in the midfield.
Buzzell Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 He was too slow for the PL. Wasn't good enough so not suprised but all the best to him.
Clever Fox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 The right decision for everyone. Just unfortunate the way things worked out for him here. I still wish him well in the rest of his career. At least he signed for us when others were refusing to.
lgfualol Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Always liked him, his attitude is top class. I reckon he'll go to Turkey or something. Maybe some Chinese club will give us £100m for him.
Vindaloo FOX Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 happy to see him go, must be on some high wages . Fuchs will be unhappy, they are besties
foxes21 Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 Fuchs said it best. If it wasn't for the 23/24 players pushing each other & putting in the work day in day out we wouldn't have won the league. Inler is obviously a good player, but does not fit our style of play. Good luck to him wherever he ends up!
HoustonFox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 He's been a great positive influence on the squad from what I can see but he was always on the fringes. When he wasn't even in the 16 for the Chelsea game, I saw it as the end of his time here. Shame if he does go as it might be interesting to see him in the slower and more tactical paced Champions League games. If the reason Mendy is coming in, is really as a replacement for Inler rather than NG, I'll be very happy!!
HoustonFox Posted 23 June 2016 Posted 23 June 2016 We best be replacing him with another captain. This what you have in mind?
