Maybe we've beaten stoke for him, if they've gone for Allen or Juventus have said no he's not for sale guess we'll know soon.

i think in away this is why we lost kanta and others are looking to leave, it really seems to take forever to sign anyone. so maybe our players are not sure that the club is serious about bring in players. just my take.

I didn't think it will happen at all, I can picture Rudkin sat in his office on his laptop playing "sims", and then flicking over to football manager whenever anyone enters the room.

Seriously the hate for Rudkin is just now at an obscene level.  He is the DOF for a team that just won the league.  Why is it that everyone else is considered great at their jobs for the achievement of the club and he is a joke?  What evidence do you have to suggest he is not  a high level Director of Football? He is the highest ranked back office staff member and would be to blame if we had failed, yet we succeed and he is still a donkey.  Why?  None of you know the inner workings of the club and the contracts for any player, yet all this hate for Rudkin is not justified.  Prove it that he is incompetent.

You're rowing against the tide. people need someone to blame for everything that doesn't go the way they want. He has been selected by the masses.  Makes no sense I know.

A lot of the annoyance is over contracts with low buyout clauses.  You would think we had a plethora of tournement poker winners on here reading some of the stuff. there is no evidence that the guy has done anything to be harangued about. Infact, I would venture to say that the negotiation clause in NG's contract was a pretty good piece of work. Had it been a straight release clause, he would have gone for 20m!

I was thinking the same thing. Our fan base is genuinely acting like spoilt brats, im as gutted as anyone about people leaving but im not ready to knock anyone that helped our great club achieve the finest of achievements.

Do you know how much goes into a players contract? It isn't just pressing a few buttons to bump up a goal bonus a bit.

Quite often it's dealing with the player, the agent, the parents, the clubs tea lady etc etc.

If it was easy we would all be directors of football.

He will either come or he won't, if the club want him then they will pull out all the stops to get him, if he don't want to come then he won't, simple as that.

Whilst i agree on the sentiment here we dont have an issue with talent spotting (well we didnt till walsh jumped ship) the problem is in closing the deal down. Other clubs are far quicker in getting things over the line.

Do they though? Or do you just hear about the straightforward deals, where club a wants to sell player z and club b wants to buy player z.

What about the transfers where player z isn't really sure if he wants to leave club a at all and has never really heard of club b much before last season?

Ron robot, Mendy, Musa, hernendez signed, Vardy and Morgan new contracts, hardly slow. People need to stop seeing newspaper and Internet speculation as fact, some will be bullshit and further rumours on that bullshit, some will be players we've enquired about or scouted but are no longer interested in and others that we're still be chasing but with holidays agents and interest from other clubs slowing down the process. Stay calm people, What will be will be.

How long has it taken to get them sorted though? Look at Drinkeater he's not even been given a contract yet, he had months to sort out our remaining players contracts

We do take ages to do deals:

Kante's being a great example - Kante was at the club for a week last year after doing his medical and couldn't train as the club didn't process his paperwork, then it was forgotten he needed his international clearance, hence why he was on the bench for the first game of the season - he would have started had they not thought he wasn't going to get his clearance in time, clearance came through friday lunchtime and they put him on the bench as the team was set up differently in training all week, which Kante just sat there and watched.

This is such tripe if he didn't have international clearence he wouldn't have been allowed to be selected even on the bench

To correct tour point he did come on the first game and so international clearence was received in time.  Ranieri prob didn't  want to risk changing a system and team at short notice considering he had spent the summer training with Drinky and King in cm

Also international clearence isn't just dependent on Leicester - we could have been as fast as we want but if the other agencies don't play ball and submit their forms or responses it won't matter how fast or slow we are

Stop making things up and use your Brain

Did you read what he said?

Clearance came through in time, but he hadn't trained with the side.

There have been comments about him for some time now, some from people who have had dealings with him, some who know the workings of the club. Including stuff like the youth team, wanting Pearson out, contract delays, buyout clauses... then John Percy saying he reckons he can basically do Walsh's job.

When someone comes on here and says Rudkin is an issue with regards the youth team, it's going to stick in peoples minds. We don't know what really goes on down there, it could be rubbish it could be no smoke without fire. All I want is for the people above him to actually be taking note of these things themselves, they can look into stuff and get the answers we'll never have.

If you want a stick to beat Rudkin with, have a look at our youth academy which he was in charge of for years.

We've produced a handful of players from the youth team and even at our lowest ebb only one player, Andy King became a permanent fixture.

A lot of clubs would have had a change in personnel

There was the infamous week of Kramaric stood around the training ground awaiting clearance and work permit

You do know it's not Rudkin who issues work permits, don't you?

On the positive side, re Ruskin, we managed to sign a player who allegedly didn't want to come here, and another who thought he was coming to play rugby. The first for 4 mill, just sold for 32 mill; the second for half a mill, now worth 50 mill. And both played crucial roles in our winning the Premiership. I wouldn't say that's too bad.

On the subject of Lemina, I wonder if Claudio is having problems working out whether we actually need another midfielder. At this moment it must be difficult to foresee what impact , if any, Inler, James, Moore and Choudhury might have.
