m4DD0gg Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Player himself wants out.....well according to the sun
mozartfox Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Yes along with everyone else in the 'mass exodus'. The Sun really is a shabby excuse for a newspaper. The Jo Hunt that wrote this shite is a full ticket W'anchor.
Thracian Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 I can't believe how some of our fans dismiss the value of Schlupp and Ulloa. They may not be the headline stars but both have made vital contributions to what we are as a whole - and that's better than any team I've ever seen wearing Leicester shirts in very nearly 60 years now. Capable as he is, and uniquely so within the group, Ulloa's expressed himself happy within the squad, and that means a lot given that not everyone can start and yet it's so important to have some options to the way we try to win games against different kinds of opposition. Furthermore people so easily forget the defensive extras both players give us. Schlupp might not be the most natural left-back but as an additional back-tracker from midfield he's fast, strong and more than useful. Ulloa adds considerably to our aerial defending from set pieces thus providing valuable insurance, again another vital piece in our collective jigsaw. Why would we sell either when the money we'd get would be so inconsequential compared with the value they add to our group? I'm utterly convinced Ulloa would be a double-figure marksman if he played as much as the first choice players but that doesn't negate the value of the goals he does get, assist and help to save. Put all the above with a damned good attitude and I'd be waving all potential suitors away. We need squad members as well as headline makers.

dylanlegend Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 If he does want to leave, I really do find it incredible how players are happy to turn their back on the chance of playing in the best club competition in the world for a bigger contract. If he goes to Swansea he will never play in the champions league. although the video I watched yesterday of his interview he looked pretty happy to me. As thrach said he's almost as important defensively as he is attacking wise. if he does leave I would pull out all the stops to sign Rondon (20m and offer of champs league)
sdb Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Really don't think he wants out. I'd be gutted to lose him. Effective and understanding that he won't start every game. Keep!

Terrific post Thracian, signs off with a very important fact " We need squad members as well as headline makers. "
Jon the Hat Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Indeed, said it all along, sell no one from the first team squad unless we don't have a choice.
steve43 Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Claudio has told Gokhan Inler and Ritchie De Laet to find other clubs, which I would think he wants all other players to stay, I take whats in the papers with a large pinch of salt.

You take what The Sun churns out and SSN sources with a salt mine.
crisp packet Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Merc reports yesterday him as "staying" everybody else says different Press never even built us up before they tried to knock us down..... How long before they respect us?

Pretty easily, he's going to struggle to get a kick here isn't he. EDIT: Although if the only paper reporting it is the sodding Sun I wouldn't worry.
Finnegan Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Just now, Manwell Pablo said: Ulloa? Pretty easily, he's going to struggle to get a kick here isn't he. This. I'm confused by why people are confused that Ulloa and Schlupp might want to go somewhere they'll play every week. Be sad to lose good characters in the squad but you've got to wish them well. To be perfectly honest, I think King signing a new contract shows a lack of ambition. He's been a squad player here for years and will continue to be.
foxy boxing Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 he will have limited opportunities with us,if others get injured he may start but generally i would let him go only if we can get a replacement. we are in three cup competitions plus the league, we need number in?

HighPeakFox Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 Don't we need loyal squad players like King? Or would we prefer 25 players all demanding 1st team action and getting all antsy when they don't get their way? Always ask a question to which you already know the answer, they told me.......

He may but he may just want to be first choice. I am not saying it's true just that I could see why he may want to go. At 30 he may not have many years left at the top level and wants to maximise playing time.

But equally, this is his one (and most probably only) shot at playing in the Champions League, why would he throw that away for a mid table boring season with Swansea?
LCCFox96 Posted 28 July 2016 Posted 28 July 2016 I get why people might think Ulloa would want to leave on the grounds of regular first team football but if the club do not what to sell him I highly doubt he's going to pass up what would be, realistically if he joins Swansea and is now the wrong side of 30, his only opportunity to play Champions League football. He'll get plenty of first team football opportunities with the stacked fixture list and he/Claudio know (at the moment) he's the only striker in the squad who offers the physical assets, hold up play and aerial skills that he does. With only Vardy, Musa and Okazaki ahead of him, it's not unrealistic that he could force his way back up the pecking order too. That and the fans love him. I don't see why he'd want to go and I hope he stays.

And he could stay not get a CL game or many other games. As I said game time over bench time. He may also know we are going to bring in another striker giving him even less chance. All I am saying is these may be reasons he wants to go for.

So staying with a champions league team is a lack of ambition cos you are not joining a mid table team? King played plenty last season and with Kante gone he'll probably get more game time this season, most players in the PL are squad players purely due to rotation.
