sdb Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 The more i think about this the more i feel he needs to stay. What if Mahrez goes? We go from 5 wingers to 3. With a season of circa 50 + games to play. I wouldn't say Gray is the better player just yet either. In fact Schlupp today could've done real damage I think, as well as supported Fuchs better.

Yep i agree Schlupp would of been ideal today
NewquayFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I think we need to keep him after today's shambles, no bite in the midfield or attack and he would have been ideal to bring on with 20 to go...
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 There's an awful lot of spaffing going on about Gray. So far, I can't see what the fuss is about. He's quick, for sure, but he's physically weak and gives the ball away far too easily. We needed Schlupp down that side in the second half. He's much stronger, just as quick and has the experience now. Again, we shouldn't sell him.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 love the idea that playing schlupp would've even solved anything today.

steflcfc Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 The thing with Shlupp is the two things he has which you can't learn as such is pace and power. Regardless if his head and feet do different things and at times is comical. For his game to progress to new levels at his age, unfortunately Jeff needs the one thing we can't provide on a regular basis 90 mins week in week out. Him coming on for us for 20-30 mins for different reasons wether that be LB to defend/LWB Winger Attacker doesn't help his game, as his game will become stale being Jack of a few positions master of none. West Brom will offer him the 90 mins each week he requires. if he isn't happy being a bit part player every match day then fair play to him for wanting to play and not warm the bench each week. If he does go It will be with my best wishes as he will go for first team football and not £££
JimmyB Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Gutted by this. Schlupp must've kicked up a right fuss about leaving. Makes no sense otherwise, very surprised he'd want to leave to be honest.

If he wasn't going to WBA he would have been on the bench and he would have come on. Must keep. Exactly my thought. He was just what we needed in last half hour. He is also important for maintaining the togetherness and spirit of the squad. It would send negative vibes if he left. It will be madness, and very sad, if we don't pull out all the stops to keep him.
Monsell1976 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 If he wants regular football as Claudio is suggesting, he will have to go. We can debate wether he is good enough or not, but the lad wants to play, and he has to look after his career, and we can't offer want he wants.

HankMarvin Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Probably would've injured at least one of their players in a collision as well
cropstonfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Pullout all the stops to keep him.scares opposition to death.offers a good alternative on the wing.pace/power.gets vital blocks in when we are under the cosh . He epitomises what we have been about for the last 3-4 years. He has more value to lcfc than any of the new signings.
Holly B Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 He has gone 100% and has taken all his kit from the TG

HankMarvin Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 i think his a player who's career will flourish with game time, always seemed to give his all for the club
haraven Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I would be sad to see Schlupp go. Great player. Could this be related to his personal situation that has been in some media, like he just wants to get away from it all? Just wondering, because he has still a long contract, he is liked by the fans, management rates him - got to be something he wants self if it is about leaving?
Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 He wants to be in a starting 11, he doesn't gets that with us so he's taking a decision to go it seems. Good luck to the lad, brave call, and i admire him for it. Would have loved him to have remained, he was always an asset off the bench, always offer something, even if none of us (or him) knew what it was gonna be.
suffolk fox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Shame we have let him go if the rumours are to be believed. His pace and directness would have come in handy today against Hull. Let's hope we don't come to regret the decision.
VLC86 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 On second thoughts sell King keep Jeff. Don't leave me Jeff
Bernieboots76 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We don't have that bigger squad anyway and we definitely don't need the money so why bother selling him unless there are more players on their way in. He is a good squad player who can come on and make a impact and we needed that today it's going to be a long season and we might not be as lucky as we were last season with injuries.
