Mezeker Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 After Kante I did a poll asking if you lot would be satisfied if our transfer business was concluded. Out of 218 respondents; 28 people (12.84%) voted yes while 190 (87.16%) voted no. Now that we are on the verge of signing Kapustka I ask you again: Would you be satisfied if we made no more signings (Counting Kapustka as SIGNED)?
4everfox Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 I'd be mortified if we didn't to be honest, and that is after Kapustka.
Dynamogoon Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Need a top class striker and an energetic midfielder with quality on the ball

A proper right back would come in handy too, not set on Amartey/ Hernandez for that position.
FoxesFourLife Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Need a big man up front and one in midfield put some meat into the team
Callabinho Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 As many have said, at least another first team CM and a top class forward. As PSG showcased we're well short.
CosbehFox Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 We probably do need more additions but you have be careful not to alienate the existing squad and upset the balance. Therefore if we don't it's not the worst thing in the world
m4DD0gg Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Well according to the owners Ranieri has unlimited funds to spend on players however i am sure that is a smokescreen for something else like convincing mahrez to sign the new deal. We need a new RB, ball playing CB with some pace and a midfielder.
ithuriel Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 For trying to stay in the top flight, we have spent well, for defending the title or playing in the Champions League we are short but this is only our third season back in the top flight so unless the owners are going to empty their wallets getting the required quality in every position is going to take time.
lgfualol Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 I'd be worried if we didn't. I know we won the league with what we have (minus Kante), but I want more strength and I think with CL and other Prem teams having new managers, it'll be a lot more tougher for us. We can't be in a situation where we have to rely on Vardy and Mahrez again. Plus we're in the best position possible to attract some quality, got to make the most of it. A RB, CM, Kaputska and a new striker please.
SuperMike Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Last seasons team (minus Kante) PLUS Zeiller, Hernandes, Mendy, Musa, Kaputska and James sounds pretty good to me. Also Amartey,Chilwell and Grey to have more game-time - BRILLIANT - Champions again!
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 If Moore goes, we are limited to a 23-man squad for CL - and all our first-team U-21's except for Chilwell don't qualify for the UEFA U-21 list (since they haven't been with the team for two years). Looking at those likely to be sold/loaned, my guess is 2-3 more signings to make up the CL the squad (if someone quality became available, I could see Was not being but on the CL squad list, but being left on the PL squad list) This means two more signings for a 24-man first-team PL squad (23 "A-list" + Chilwell), which means a 21-man PL squad, +3 U-21's on the first team. If we were Chelsea, we would be trying to fill out our Premier League squad, too, to provide cover for the CL boys. If we get out of the group stages, and win all our January Cup fixtures, I think we might be seeing a very busy January window, because the fixture congestion is going to be a huge problem in the second half of the season.
desertfox2 Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 No. We just won the league and have champions league football, now is the best chance we will have of making some seemingly impossible signings. Make hay while the sun shines.
AKCJ Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Depends if we keep our team. We've only lost Kante and have signed Mendy, Hernandez, Musa, Kaputska and Zieler. I think we've had a great summer considering I just assumed Mahrez would be the first to go. Not to mention that Chilwell, Amartey and Gray all look like they have the capability to step up to the first team (possibly even starting). Too many people on here expect us to go out and splash 150m like it's no bother.
Guest Col city fan Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 This subject goes on and on it seems. I reiterate, we could do with another clinical striker (not cheap I know), a real ball-playing midfielder and a younger CB. Three top signings down the spine of the team and we'll look even better. IMO.
Guest Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Another striker at the very least. A young CB would be nice.
Stevosevic Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 No, i think we're short to cope. We're now weaker in CM in terms of numbers with Inler leaving. Drinkwater, King, Mendy and James isn't enough imo. I would have liked another CB as well.
Max Power Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Wouldn't be devastated but do think we need a couple more. Centre back/right back (depending on how we see Hernandez) Ball playing midfielder - we have a lot of runners in there not a lot of class. another forward would be nice but not imperative
Babylon Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Below is realistically what we've got at the minute, presuming Inler, RDL and Moore go. People like Amartey, Schlupp, Musa, Kapustka can all cover different positions as well. The biggest issue is only one specialist right back, I think we see Hernandez and Amartey being cover there. But lose Simpson and get an injury somewhere else and suddenly hole start to appear. As it is Benny, Chillwell, Was, James, Ulloa and Kapustka won't be getting on the bench week in week out. Having too many more missing out could start to cause issues. I think we can probably fit one more player into the squad, any more after than and I think we'd have to ship people out to make room. GK: Kasper / Zieler LB: Fuchs / Chilwell CB: Morgan / Hernandez CB: Huth / Was / Benny RB: Simpson / Amartey LW: Albrighton / Kapustka / Schlupp CM: Drinkwater / King CM: Mendy / James RW: Mahrez / Gray ST: Vardy / Musa ST: Okazaki / Ulloa

Is he even in full training and if so his back could go at any time. More chance he is on the out list if we get an offer.
Babylon Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 Just now, sylofox said: I would not see Benny doing anything for us. Is he even in full training and if so his back could go at any time. More chance he is on the out list if we get an offer. I've put him on the list purely on the basis of him being out injured and not getting a move away before the window closes. So rather than buying another back up defender, use what we've got if we know he's going to be back in a certain time frame.
Captain... Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 No more activity after Kaputska? That includes Mahrez staying? With this squad I would go into the new season full of joy and optimism, that is not to say we shouldn't sign anyone else, but this squad is better than last season.

If Moore goes we will not be limited to a 23 man squad as we only need to register 4 players home grown at the club to comply with UEFA rules (which to my knowledge is a player trained at the club for three years before their 21st birthday). We can register Chilwell, Choudhury, Schlupp and King. That means we only need to register 4 more players who have been trained at any club in England for three years before their 21st birthday and we have those in abundance (Schmeichel, Zieler, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Albrighton, Gray, Drinkwater, James and Vardy). We can, if we choose, register players under the age of 21 that have trained in England for three years but we aren't obliged to as they would be available to play anyway (Demarai Gray). That means that if we register the following as our home grown players: Schmeichel, Zieler, Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Chilwell, Albrighton, Drinkwater, James, Vardy, Schlupp, Choudhury and King then we have 12 more positions in the squad that we can fill with the following: Hernandez, Wasilewski, Fuchs, Amartey, Mendy, Kapustka, Mahrez, Ulloa, Okazaki and Musa which would leave us with two more positions left in the squad to fill with new signings. As for the third goalkeeper we must have a half decent goalkeeper in the development squad that is under 21 and has trained in England for three years. I'd definitely like to see us fill those two remaining slots though so my preference would be to sign a versatile defender and an attacker. Fill those two positions and I'd be very satisfied with our summer business.
Dan Posted 2 August 2016 Posted 2 August 2016 No I wouldn't. I wouldn't go mad (never would, it's a flawed approach) but we definitely need a midfielder and a forward for me, and that's on top of Kapustka.
